Like if i buy it will i be able to plug it in no problem. yeah man there are tons and tons of tutorials. im sure you've heard of DJ Ean Golden right? he has a whole bunch. and i downloaded his mappings also. Check him out :D thanks a lot man.

  • @ThunderPiglit no man the vci has no sound card.... You just need 4 channels coming out of your pc..... I got a 15$ job off eBay works fine... And send the audio out master+ monitor accordingly

All those tutees are on the special edition......

  • @ikov Alright so i guess what im asking is if i have my VCI 100 and my laptop, how can i plug into a PA?

  • @ThunderPiglit Get an external USB sound card for like 15 bux off ebay the you can plug your headphones in one jack pa into another and your set :)

  • is this vestax good for someone thats going to learn how to dj and mix, and than later on would this be good enough for the club? i would like to make one purchase and make the right one. any other recomendations?

  • ninety inch nails

  • the amount of facial excrements in those nails will shortened the life of the DJ midi.

  • cut your nails^^

  • I'm still new to this and was thinking about buying this or the Pioneer CDJ 400...i was browsing and then seen this on line but don't know much about midi Dj systems.

What is better for a beginner just wanting to play around scratching, mixing and just having fun on the decks.

Comments left will be very appreciated:) CHEERS BIG EARS lol

  • Need some advice! I cant decide between the vestax vci 100 and the numark omni control. What do you suggest? Thanks in advance.. oh another thing. does the vestax vci 100 have a phone output?

  • how are your lights flashing ??

  • hey, would this be good for a beginner?

  • gonna sell my numark total control controller and buy one of these bad boys!

  • does it have headphone jacks?

  • @nickmacd89 No. why would it? It's a midi controller.

  • WHO's GONNA GIVE ME THE NAME OV THE TRACK?

  • cortate las unas guey

  • dude i don't want to buy this anymore because of your nails

  • So is this the best controller on the market. I mean 500 is quite a lot and I have heard some of the jogwheels can break easily. Also those monitor buttons are really small. But still those are minor problems and I'm willing to buy it if any of you guys have it and have compared it to the Hercules DJ RMX. My friend has the Hercules and it seems pretty good, but he has a shitty laptop so I havent been able to fully test it. What do you guys recommend??

  • @DrDooM24PBK

Hercules DJ RMX suck. Vestax is way better, I have a vestax and I tested both of them.

  • @atomicman666

yeah I went and bought the VCI two days after I posted this. Honestly its okay. I'd say 4/5. The knobs are too small and hard. This is my first controller so I don't have anything to compare it too but I still think VCI needs to improve on the buttons and konbs. And they need to make the firmware upgradeble through the USB ;(

  • @DrDooM24PBK

That's why they made the VCI-300, my friend got one and it's a lot bigger than the VCI-100 and works with serato itch. But it's like 1000 $ US

  • @atomicman666

I have heard ITCH isnt that good. Plus I wanted a controller that would let me use it with any program. I bought Traktor Scratch Pro. So far Traktor is the shit. But the VCI I'm still undecided if I want to keep.

  • @DrDooM24PBK

I got traktor with my VCI-100 but I had problems to config it. So i took Virtual Dj but i dont have all the knobs in use to put some distortion effect and be able to controle them with the knobs, that suck! Is traktor scratch pro fully compatible with the vestax, I mean not do the key mapping? thanks!

  • @treesareourfriends01

Im new to this mobile Dj stuff, all I know is Pioneer. But I am in the process of getting Traktor Skratch, but I'm still undecided between the VCI-100 and Hercules DJ RMX?? What do you mean by soundcard. Is that the same as the interface??

  • what if u had usb head phones and used your computers head phone jack for an audio out would that work on traktor duo with the vestax for cueing and everything i need

  • @mxjustin22 on the vci-300 i believe it would. i have heard that you can plug in cd players and mp3 players so yea

  • ok thank you!

  • do i really need a sound card for it ???what will happen if i do not use a sound card for the vci - 100???

  • does serato itch work with it?

  • Vaya peazo de uñas. Por favor, no encontraron a nadie con las uñas cortitas para hacer este puto video?

  • will this work with the serato scratch live program?

  • yes

  • Ok, how good is this thing?

I bought a Hercules DJ Console MK 1 and it was HORRIBLE.

  • hi i want some help.i want to buy the vestax vci 100 and audio 2 card audio used or m audio xponent torq new?thanks .the vestax is good with original firmware or need update?to play with scracth?thanks

  • its annoying me how hes talkin along to the beat.. grrr

  • ay man, cut your fuckin fingernails and maybe youd be able to use thpse tiny lil nobs!

  • Nice vid.. Cut your nails!

  • wait since this is a midi controller, shouldn't I be able to use it wit other software? like TORQ? or VDJ? or only and only traktor???? someone please... help!!!! THX a lot!!!

  • It's a MIDI controller, you can use it with any DJ program VIA MIDI mapping.

  • @djtavi77 you can

just listen to the first 15 seconds :)

  • for some reason my cmputer is not picking up the volume when playing songs does anyone know how to fix this - my vestax vci works but the sound is not playing from the laptop, help

  • cut ur fuckin nails dude

  • do you guys know is the VCI-100 is compatible with SERATO SL3???

  • who cares u wanker

  • Comment removed

  • you're gonna do some scratching with those nails?

  • @emireitor hahahahahahahaha lol

  • can I use vci100 and vci300 with traktor pro??

  • yes

  • u can only use the vci-100 with traktor.

  • Would this be worth getting?

  • It is if you learned how to mix on analog gear. It just makes the workflow easier for people who learned how to mix on actual decks/mixer. But if you already have your own method of mixing with Traktor without it, you'd probably do better investing the $500 on something else. It's all a matter of taste, but it does work very well with Traktor.

  • Thanks for this!! :-)

  • he use his nails to pick his asshole....lol

  • hi , i need to know somethink can you help my? .. i have a notebook, with all my music.. and i want to buy the vci 100.. i need a interface to play on a disco or in my home ? o it´s just the vci conect to the notebook ? or need a power? or somethink? im new on the wolrd of dj's .. . tranks..

  • u need to buy a soundcard for VCI-100....i suggest u buy VCI-300

  • try using software before bu8ying the decks...

try using virtual Dj and some other stuff, and try getting used to some of them, then pick which one you think works the best for you. then check what decks/user interfaces are compatible with that software...

or just get torq software with xponent, or M-audio Creative(with 2 USB Digital Vinyl players)

  • Cut your fuckin nails mate!

  • Fuck Nails ! hahahahahah

  • jesus the nails were horribly distracting I can't help but think the guy must be a drag queen on thursday nights

  • LOL xD

  • @dnbjarhead

LOL well your the one looking at his nails. He could have been missing 4 fingers and I wouldn't have noticed considering this is about the VCI-100?

  • @dnbjarhead is that when you did your drag nights

  • @dnbjarhead glad im not the only one who noticed thats so gross

  • Did you guys notice how the speech is perfectly syncronised with the music? this is the first "hip hop" style presentation I ever saw!!!! great "warp" job !

  • fucking lmao....poor guys gunna have a finger nail complex for the rest of his life.

  • Cut your fuckin nails mate!

  • Cut your fuckin nails mate!

  • Nice:p

    but i hate the music!

  • nails like a horror movie waaagh

  • So how the hell can i pre listen??

  • u need an extra "dj soundcard"

  • is it gonna work with any USB sound card?

  • music equipment manufacturers are some what on the same level. it should work with any sound card. you should be more concerned about pc or mac.

  • How does this work with Headphones?

    I just have no idea..

Just like a 'normal' mixer or what??

  • it's sort of like a midi keyboard, it triggers sound from your computer. so you would have to plug headphones into a sound card.

  • Between VCI 100, Total Pro (Numark) or Hercules Consolo? I want to play and perform live in clubs. Any suggestion?

I am sure each one have some good and bads, but it is hard to choose since I don´t have experience or friends to guide me on this. All the best and thanks.

    Quality is essential as well.

  • Well if your in the UK the VCI 100 is out! I want one but with vestax uk out the picture! i'm not going to import one coz no warranty!

  • Big up for the review. Well put-together. Want one of these - have to pull finger out and get some work done!

  • are cue points same as pioneer cdjs ?

  • i was having buyers remorse when i saw this console after i bought the m-audio xponent, but now after watching this video, i know that my xponent is fucking RAD! and i made the right decision- thanks djmagtv!

  • the m audio is nice

but the vci is just more pro

    feel, look, precision, versatility

    ;)

  • i guess pro things only have four effects knobs and tiny headphone panning knobs...

  • pro things definitely are not made of plastic, with LEDs "bouncing" to the beat...

LOL come on, M-Audio is a good brand, but Vestax definitely is a level above.

  • hhmmm well you can instantly turn the blinking off... and its all pre-mapped to torq and it's easy to re-program controls. if you've ever used ableton live, its the same click/move control programming rather than stressing over a list of assignable functions. the xponent also has several buttons under a button, to ensure that you press them when you want to. It has full-size tempo sliders, and a track-pad. not to mention more than enough controls. torq also supports vst plugins!

  • What computer software are you using with that?

  • traktor

  • If you have side A pumping through the speakers and want to find the right cue for side B, how can this be done when there are no headphone sockets?

  • You need an external sound card, thats where your headphones will be plugged into. Type ' Ean Golden vestax vci 100 sound card' in to youtube and he'll take you through why you need one and the best ones to buy

  • No videos found for Ean Golden vestax vci 100 sound card

  • Dj Sound Cards 101 (what to use with the VCI-100)

    ok I found it. thanks

  • word! dude has gross lady nails!

  • respek. he should bite them down

  • you guys need to open your eyes

  • Hey, it's all about the performance and presentation. Miami is the biggest club scene in the world, I've been there five times already, and DJs loose big contracts for not having the right attitude. Just letting their nails grow all over the place is just a bit much. Especially when it comes to House music.

  • Great overview... not sure about those finger nails though...

  • Hi. I'd like to ask you about the quality of this Vestax midi controller. I've got BCD2000 and it's not good. The faders and x-fader are skipping, some of the knobs are not working as well so the bottom line is : I want something better to take place of my BCD (I don't want to buy real CD players or turntables). So I'd like to know your experience with this controller. How long do you have it ? Did you find any problems with it ? How does it work after several months of usage and stuff. Thanks.

  • i got the vci100 in sep & i love it. its more geared toward traktor heads unfortunately as i only use live. there are no maps for live available so i just midi mapped it 2 my preference. ive played it out many times, the only issues ive had are with my laptops latency. best thing about the vci is that is mostly of metal construction so ya can just go2town on it without breaking anything in the heat of the moment!only drawback is cud do with another two sliders & a built in audio controller

  • Look at their mics, very well built, impressive tonality and features for the money. And yeah, the Xponent will be plastic, 'cause it needs to be light, profitable and affordable. People expect too much for too little these days. After all its under $600! That means, controller, sound interface, AND software for that money. Show me decks for the same price anywhere near the same quality or # of features. (cont'd)

  • You get what you pay for, and if you spend $99 on products you'll get crap, because there is a market for it. You spend a reasonable amount of money on their stuff and you will get something worth more than what you paid for it.

  • My resume:

    12 years DJ

5 years electronic music equipment sales

    My conclusion;

Xponent, although not perfect, definitely takes the cake over the VCI. Design, functionality are far superior. VCI is a nice prototype from Vtax but I'll wait till 2.0 for a real comparison...

  • Douch bag eh? You might want to ask check your dad's closet to check the spelling of that.

  • thats right, I'm faking it to impress you, son of a doucher...that was exactly my objective when I posted that comment...to impress a wanker I dont even know. Go find yourself a hobby besides talking tough behind a monitor, you'd get injured spewing nonsense in the real world..

  • strange, I've never met any industry professionals who recommend anything made by M-Audio. I don't have your resume but I do know that every plasticky gimmick M-Audio makes falls apart real quick, like their junky keyboard controllers (I bought two, both broke). The Xponent I saw in a shop had three broken controls on it 2 weeks after being set up. great testimonial :-)

  • Take it from someone who never liked m-audio product prior to 2005. They are a different company (think about it, they were bought by Avid in 2003) and since then they have continually and exponentially improved quality and innovation. In regards to keyboards, yeah, there IS a market for $99 controllers, and yeah, they will be shit, but look at the Axioms, they're built like tanks, handsome design, plethora of features, great keyboard weighting, response and playability. (cont'd)

  • I'm waiting for Serato Itch with a Vestax VCI-300 controller. I think it will be much better.

  • @dysphonix I'm still new to this and was thinking about buying this or the Pioneer CDJ 400...i was browsing and then seen this on line but don't know much about midi Dj systems.

What is better for a beginner just wanting to play around scratching, mixing and just having fun on the decks.

Comments left will be very appreciated:) CHEERS BIG EARS lol

  • this unit is simply AMAZING! i love it and i will take this over the xponent any day

  • The M Audio Torque Exponent is far superior as far as hands on functionality and usability are concerned. Nice looking piece of kit though.

  • Ok so does anyone have an input on how this Vestax works with Virtual Dj...whats the best programm in anyones opinion to work this with??? thx

  • does this turntables use a normal cd 700m.b wiz 80 min??

some body plz tell me wht kind of cd s i can use on this

  • its MIDI CONTROLLER

    music is on your computer

  • @VASTATIC no cd on this one

it work only with your mp3 or wma or whatever

  • This Controller needs another Audiocard how Numark Total Control ?

  • I've seen these in person and they are a solid build. Serious gear for the laptop DJ. Not a plastic toy like the M-Audio Xponent.

  • sgk-

run a splitter thats a headphone jack on one side into the laptops speaker output, and splits to RCA cables on the other end and plug those into a stereo. $2 at radio shack.

  • can this be connected to the amp or the speaker for the louder sound or is it only limited to the computeres speaker?

  • limited to the computeres speaker

  • this is a controller (it controls the software), so it doesn't make any sounds (as they said in the video), but you can use an audio interface to take the sound out of the computer, or you can do what ireland face said in his commentary. both ways you can amplify the sound

  • can yoonly connect a midi mixer to a laptop or can be any mixer?

  • bit expensive for what it is though?

  • totally, you can get this for less, and it's build quality will make this look like a cheap plastic toy

    kontrolprodj[dot]com

  • just wondering what output equipment u can use for headphone and mixer since it doesnt have input

  • int he Traktor 3.0 version you can select what deck the earplugs should prevail THROUGH YOUR COMPUTER/LAPTOP! Read some website folks -.-

  • how is this diff from Torq...this look more nicer than torq

  • I would never allow you to touch my gear with those nails. :/

  • mos defo :) :)

  • nice

  • Humnn, looks a lot like M-Audio's Torq Xponent without the audio interface.. Jesus, who isn't making these MIDI based DJ controllers now a days. I think Hercules should still get credit for introducing the first DJ console, should be interesting to see what the third revision of the console looks like. All in all I think Vestax have addressed some of the issues people were having with other controllers.

  • this actually looks like a prefessional dj equipment and not a cheap plastic piece of toy

  • I owned the Hercules, and it was crap.

Sure, it deserves some credit for being a pioneer in its genre, but the gear itself was crap.

Vestax is definitely bringing us a pro-level piece of equipment.

  • I like Vestax gear but this one has me a little worried on its build quality. Especially for anybody using time code to scratch etc....For example, there are some killer exposed screw heads just itching to cut you up whilst your doing the cutting! It looks cluttered and that gain control is a bit of a joke. Hope there is auto gain on the software. Also I just know mid twiddle i'll accidentally snap that stop button placed right next to the crossfader???????

  • There is auto-gain on Traktor Pro - prob 3LE too... not sure.

  • unless you have actually used it in person, the build quality is heavy, and really polished. i think it aluminum

  • nice vid!
