Dear eraram, have you considered that there are Turk people who are Iranian? Pepople from provinces like Azarbaijan, Ardabil, Ghazvin, Zanjan, and others? They are still Iranian, just as I, as a Fars am, so are all the other people who speak different languages and dialects, like Kurds, Baluch, Lor, and all the other beloved populations within Iran. Speaking Turikish does not nessecarily mean he is not from Iran.

Like panaimi told you, Turkish peoples are very much present in Iran and have played a very important part in their history. The predecessors of the Pahlavi dynasty, the Qajar, were a Turkish dynasty. There were, or maybe still are, persons in Iran who have the title Mirza. They are Iranian royalty, but from Turkish descent. Confusing a bit, huh?

Right, the shah´s father Reza Shah Pahlavi came from northern Iran, Mazanderan. I was referring to the Qajar shahs who were Turkish originally. The only Qajar king of any importance was Nasruddin Shah.

They were Azerbaijani, not Turkish. And Azerbaijanis are still Iranians. I'm half Azerbaijani myself, but I'm still fully Iranian.

Nearly 25% of Iran is Azerbaijani..
