Oakland and Deep Creek Lake is alsoa very popular vacation spot with us Washingtonians too. My family has had a place out on the lake off of Turkey Neck Road since 1969. My folks bought it when their first two kids were toddlers and they (and the two of us that came after) grew up there in the summer and now so is the next generation of our family. Garrett County is quite a place all right.
Man I grew up in this town and from what I remember from my brother and sisters were always being harrased by the police , not to mention their freinds.The cops dont have much to do around there. I hear the drug problem has gotten bad too. I moved in the early 90`s to the south which I am greatful because theres nowhere to really work in that area. But on a good note it would be a great place to visit.

This town is a great example of small town America. I've moved away but it never seems to get out of your blood when you grow up there.
