nice! but you needn't go all the way to the islands for a slice of beach paradise. There are a few very pretty stretches of beach on the east coast. I put up a few beach videos on my channel that you can take a look at :)
well, it was the quietest and most remote beach, if that is what you're asking. You can take a trail to the other side of the island, where there are more hotels and restaurants.
There was nothing in 1996, there was a woman and her three children and a large guy called Sofi, they lived in a tin shack, the shack was surrounded by forest and palms. A few bamboo huts were dotted about, a well before the beach for washing, it was very minimal but stunning - one of my fondest memories of that trip. Shops and restaurants were not to be seen, small village about two miles away over a large hill, that was about it. Price of progress eh!? Stunning....
i was there around the same time, my dad wirked out there and i was out 3 times to see him, one of the time we went here and it was beautiful, i love malaysia better than anywhere else, well worth it!!!
Hey - I was there in 1996! Does Sofi still live there with his wife and children. I remember him, a larger than life fella, really hearty chap.....great place. I went there for a few days and spent a week, just swimming and eating and sleeping.
wow man, its must have been different in 96! i was there in the summer and was was beautiful, but still quite alot of shops and resturants, i bet there was hardly anything in 96
