I would reccomend putting a blanket in a corner of the kennel she's in at the vet. The floor looks kinda uncomfortable.

My dog got hit by a car yesterday he broke his right back leg. Dose it heel? I need to know I tried making him a brace myself it's really broken. Vet told me that it's the Femur and he didn't charge me. Sent me to another vet who didn't charge me neither but told me that I would spend $1000 easily. I sprayed this liquid foam over his bandage & my Min Pin seems to be handling it pretty wheel except now he looks sad. I can't afford the surgery I don't know what to do!

i hoppe you dog is ok, i have same problem and i just touvh my dog and i thinks is brocken i been at the doctor`s office and they told me $1200 i really sad because i don`t have all that money... if you can tell me how you take care of your please let me know.

Wow can't believe it's been seven months start off by saying don't mess w/ his leg u can make it worse. My dog went 4 months w/out surgery it was a bad move on my part. I got lucky to had met a vet who inserted a pin to the broken bones for $500 it was a once & a life time thing & now my dog limps. At first I was cheap because other vets wanted to charge me $1500-2K & didn't want to guarantee their work & recommend amputation. Plz start w/ the x-rays & keep them until you find a good vet.

@eduarin A year later and my dog is still fine. I had even drove to Mexico a year ago to see if they did the work cheap over there and they don't even perform surgery over where I went. When I came back to Texas I got lucky & some random person helped me take my dog to a vet who charged me only $500 it was a onetime thing & I had to do it or lose my dog to rich people who would pay whatever it took. It's was a long story but I kept my Min Pin named "Lobo".

The question is - how long has Apple been this way? I'm guessing that the leg has been broken for some time now, and the bones healed themselves separately. So now, the bones can't be fit back into place? :(

This happened not long and I think less than 7 days. I still have not heard from the vet cause today is Sunday.

oh ok. I don't see why it can't be fixed then. Put the bones back into place, and have some kind of restraint put on the joints. Cast her up and see how she does.

I'm not a vet though so I have no idea, but I've had a broken leg before. Hope a solution comes.

What kind of surgery needs to be done on her hip? I am curious to know why the first two vets said that there was nothing to be done for Apple except to give her pain killers.

Also, what happened to Lucky?

I also curious why the first 2 vets said there was nothing can be done and Lucky might be caught by the city council. Once is in their hand, I don't think he will be on this earth anymore.

Are u a vet? I didn't know that.. lol, all this time i have been subscribed to you, and i love all of ur vids, but never knew u were a vet. Thats awesome!! As much as i love animals i could not do that job, i could not stand to see animals in pain.

I'm really glad they found you and you're able to at least try to do something to help her. I'll send positive healing energy her way when I meditate tonight.
