i totally disagree with you saying that virtually the whole inner city is "dangerous and violent." Sure, there are gangs and homeless people but if you keep to yourself and don't get involved into drugs, gangs, or going to seedy bars, you should be ok. It seems the areas you consider 'beautiful' are not that much different than the so-called 'dangerous' areas.

I know this since I grew up in Fort Richmond, and have lived in the West Broadway and Elmwood areas. People are people.

All of the most beautiful places in Winnipeg are downtown... Central Park, the Forks, the Exchange District. And statistically, you are far more likely to have your car stolen in the suburbs than downtown.
