UMP45 is heavier, larger and has a lower cyclic rate than the MP5. But that's to make the .45ACP controllable at full-auto, which it does very well. The extra confidence of the .45ACP's ability to perform one-round incapacitations is what makes it worthwhile if you ask me. 9mm is no longer considered a guaranteed "one shot stopper" for center mass shots.

@woBsquared Actually, this subgun is very, very easy to shoot and control. I have owned an identical UMP to the one in the video for several years now and it is one of my favorite guns to shoot. I can easily empty the 25 rd. magazine on full auto and keep on a 12" target at 25 yards, which is pretty impressive considering it uses a .45 ACP round.

Mine is not a Police weapon, it is a dealer sample which I can own due to my Class 3 FFL License.

@bangmeister Room clearing. My father was conscripted when he left school and he was taught room clearing as well as how to fire a rifle. In SA at the time, they were using some FN 7.62 rifle which is, apparently, too big and bulky and basically impractical in comparison to the Uzi when clearing rooms and such. I suppose it just comes down to practicality. Even the SAS are known to use MP5s in hostage situations. The rounds don't go through walls, so less chance of civilian casualties.

Why are HK guns always turbocharged in video games? Explain to me why a bullet fired out of a 12 in. German-made barrel has three times the muzzle energy of the same bullet fired out of a 12 in. As I was saying, what the heck are you talking about? Our police have uniforms quite comparable to yours. They aren't armed "like special forces soldiers" as you say, they have handguns as primary armament and shotguns in their cars for backup. A small number that operate in high crime areas have Ar-15s in their cars, but wouldn't you?

Also, our gun laws are quite modest; a person can own a semi auto rifle or any slower-firing, lower-power gun without needing any sort of license.
