i just like MF.articulate, dignified and a real gentleman.we still have a difficulty in our American society.we don't allow certain people the rights that are suppose to be constitutionally given.this is the melting pot of the world and that includes the Muslims.i know we have taken some hits from the Extremeist lately but we are a nation of free people.we can give thanks for this.
everyone haveing my point of view can also be bad.. how can we evolve then? look at the movie "2081" i dont mean we all should be equal.. but intelligent
hell.. i can talk forever about this shit g2g2 bed go to school and raise your kids right off the drugs ect..
im not makeing these comments about the video im just simply expressing whats on my mind at the moment.. i cant express what im thinking very well so what i have posted might seem confuseing ahh.. but its 2am tired and im rambleing *~*
life is short.. no one cares about what the future will bring for the lives of those after you.. we only care about our own.. this to me is a pointless existence
the human race is overcome with greed and selfishness if everyone had my point of view the utopian dream can be real.. but what this is asking is too much.. (some people reading this will think im a facist or somthing.. and im not..) this is impossible because most of us are not intelligent enough to "Look at the big picture"
i would say over 80% of the people in the world are blind or are not intelligent enough to change, they do not look at themselves at the big picture or at what they do means for other people, most of their existences are pointless. or a "waiste of space", if you do not have the will to change for the better, not as a segregated group, but as the entire human race, then you are worthless to me.. or your life is nothing more then a influence for others to be "Worthless". no one cares.life is short
Dam no wonder Morgan freeman is atheist. All those people who claim to be Christian just make assumptions on how a god acts. Mr. Freeman lived his life being told that he was cursed by a god, and that THE God is a unreasonable being. I don't blame him.
Behind Morgan's head there was the circle from the "Q", and it fit behind him so perfectly....he looked like a saint! He already is somewhat like a saint! My lord...
@YourFaceWillDie468 that's the point of the interview. So it was relevant 2 show pieces of the documentary which include southern people with accents giving interviews.
@SwimmingMunky Hate is a very strong word. I've experienced racism first hand, but I don't hate 'white' people. The key word, which you put in speech marks, is 'People'. Hate makes you a prisoner. You don't have to be one.
Races should stay with their own kind. If black is beautiful then keep it that way. That is not a racist statement. A racist statement would be.... You're too white, we need to mix some black with you to bring your color closer to ours....or vise versa. Those that racially mix are the racists. I knew a white girl that only dated either Mexicans or blacks, why? She said because she'll always have the upper hand by being the white one in the relationship. Think about that one for awhile.
@BloodTar .you absolute idiot how on earth is that racist? not the girl but the mixing of races. by the way your concept of race is pathetic anyway,so really your arguement has no substance.besides if we have to dumb it down for idiots liek you,do you really think that interracial relationships are all because of reasons like the example you used?besdies who are you to say that?if your white ,then marry someone white and then live and let live.
"I am, like you, fascinated by the mysteries around me. By the strange forms of matter that pass through us all. By parallel universes. By the whole time and space, that reckon us to a world beyond our wildest imaginings. I find the questions to these mysteries intriguing...and like you, I've got a lot of questions." - Morgan Freeman
It shames me as an American that racism is still rearing it's ugly head here. I had no idea that a prom would still be segregated. I hope I live to see the day when we can finally leave this ugly stigma behind once and for all and realize we are all connected and like the kid in the movie said, "it's what's inside that really matters." God bless Morgan Freeman!
Jian Ghomeshi's Q is a great show, much respect to a man who knows what he's talking about coming from the entertainment industry himself (he was in Moxy Fruvous for chrissake) and does a very good job at listening to his interviewees and asking them very interesting and relevant questions.
This was no exception. A great interview of a wonderful actor who's also quite articulate.
Like James Earl Jones, Freeman brings a certain dignity to his roles. My favorite remains his portrayal of Det. Sommerset in "Seven". On the matter of segregation, there's more than just racial segregation. It speaks more to the matter that there is socio-economic segregation. In other words, segregation is built on a diverse set of tribal characteristics, which maintain deep differences between peoples. Maybe, in the end, you can't bring people together.
I was VERY surprised to hear of the segregation he was talking about, I guess its because I don't see any of that here in Canada. I was so naive to think that racism and segregation was virtually not existent, at least on an institutional level. I guess I was wrong.
Jian (or maybe his support staff) always do excellent research. You can tell that the guests appreciate it, and it really helps to develop a rapport between the two.
@6663000 Segregation still exists in Canada and its downright to ignorant to think it doesn't. How many Native Americans do you see in public schools? Are you familiar with the residential school system?

Maybe because it's our segregation seems so normal that we don't see it: what about our Native reservations?

That is a good point, but I think it also has to do with my location. I live in Nova Scotia, and here there is about a 0.3 % native population.
