  • DUCATI

  • I was all set to buy this bike, and then the government of Commiefornia raised the sales tax to 10%. Now, I'm screwed, the dealer is screwed, the manufacturer is screwed, and EVEN THE STATE is screwed. No one wins. THANKS, COMMIEFORNIA!

  • Gratulon ! Via resulto estis tre bonna !! jes !!

  • am 5'8'' you think i would have trouble riding this bike?

  • @Mutiny00 not in the slightest.

  • како је прелеп

  • i hate advertisements

  • I would rather have a real Bmw gs. Not a bike with a rotax engine.

  • @700mudpro this combines a little bit of both 1200 and 650...and believe me it´s not a rotax engine.

  • I WANT ONE!

  • this bike is so good try it out i find it faster much smoother then the 1200GS

  • To bad it looks like an Bio-engineered Locust.....

  • haven't watched a huge amount of these mcn reviews, lets say about 20 or so but what strikes me the most is the fact that i have never seen them point out any negative issues on the reviewed bike

seems to me they are scared to piss off the manufacturers and not be given the chance to test drive or review another one

    damn shame tbh

  • Dissagree with the review. I've riden one of these off road for 2 days, with some time on road. One road it is fine. Off road it is a dog and completely outclassed by the smaller X-Challenge 650 and the larger R1200 GS and GS Adventure. The biggest single problem with the bike is poor fuelling which makes the throttle more like an on / off switch. It makes low speed manouvering off road very tricky.

  • A second problem is the weight. The 1200's centre of gravity is low low. On this bike the COG is much higher, so although less heavy the weight is poorly distributed.

  • I agree. When I test rode this bike I was very dissapointed. I really wanted to like it but it was too top heavy for me. Very comfy though and I know its an on/off switch with the throttle but my god its fun :)

  • @SimonOcean what about the f 650 G, Husq TE 610, and the KTM 990! Please can you comment on those as well!

  • but the engine is made for on road, if you ride it like a road bike when you've taken a wrong turn (clutching alot) it should be okay

  • Look: I've riden this bike off road and compared it to about 6 other bikes. For off road riding it is the worst and using the clutch effectively does not compensate for the throtle response or poor weight distribution. On road it is fine.

  • me m8s got the 1100 model

  • suzuki is the best

  • Booooooo! Yes it is but still. Lol

    BOOOO!

  • honda sucks

  • yes

  • careful there...

  • the only thing i don't like about this bike, are those screens on it at 0:34 wtf 2 screens? and the big one looks like it's in the way of seeing the gauges.

fuck GPS in vehicles, it seems to give assholes a reason to be lazy. also all safety equipment on cars should be discontinued, so shitty retarded drivers die more often.

  • BMW motorcycle sucks.... they should just stick to cars. unless what the driver enjoy is the comfortable seats on a BMW bike @_@..

  • Why do they suck. there pretty good

  • There's a lot of comercial oriented comments here, trying to give BMW a bad name. This bike is precious!

  • this bike sucks

  • GODO KE HA PESTATO LA MERDA

  • It conjures up images of a 'Couch Potato' watching a sporting event, a 'Fat Girl' with a dirty mind. Maybe a picnic at the park. I'll keep my X Challenge.

  • KTM>BMW. I will stick to their cars.

  • BMW <3

  • BMW really make the worst looking bikes ever XD but it works..I quess........

  • I like the looks of them actually. Its ugly yet nice looking

  • I think the adventure bikes just look rugged, i wouldn't call them ugly. Take a look at the bmw hp2 sport, i think that is a sexy bike.

  • I think they look cool. They look functional.

  • hehe.. yeah right, but for an enduro bike this one is very nice, i think. you just have to get used to the crazy lamp design.

  • The lamps on these bikes were designed by Bill the Cat. It's not BMW's fault.

You can Google "Bill the Cat" if you are under 30 years old and have no idea who I am talking about.

  • i think BMW motorcycles look still excellent. compared to BMW cars department (i mean just look at the Bangle design it's just horrible what they have done to the brand) BMW motorcycle department is just great

  • Big question thats critical for touring bikes: How comfortable is the seat for long drives? i.e. how long can you drive before your ass starts to kill?

  • bmw is well known for its comfortable sittingposition and soft seats, especially on the touring bikes.

  • great review!

  • They finally start making the engine other than flat twin?

  • A lot of people seem to have this misconception about BMW. They are certainly most known for their boxers (r-series engine), but they have been making other engines since the late 80's with the release of the K1. The K-series engine is an inline 4-cylinder configuration. They also have a G-series which are single cylinder bikes in either 450CC or 650CC.And finally the F-series parallel twin engine you see here. The F is actually built by Rotax in Austria for BMW.

  • deelee74:

Well, I respect their effort and everything but it's nothing to brag about. Honda, Yamaha other Japanese makers would come up with the new designed engine with two weeks notice.

Porsche seems to have the same problem. They did try other type engines but all failed commercially and stuck with the same configuration.

  • Sure, but the 4-cylinder K series engine is a huge commercial success for BMW. Their K1200LT is a huge seller, as is their K1200GT.

And up until last year, the F650GS (now designated as the G650GS) was their 3rd best-selling model after the R1200GS and R1200RT boxers.

  • deelee74:

I think BMW felt the pressure to make inline engines, because of the competition. Competition is good. I hope they'll keep up the effort with the others.

  • Yeah ... But only for 20 years or so.

  • i used to love reading MCN but i find all the vid to be very poor! this vid was called "1st ride" and he didnt ride it! ok we saw a couple of shots of the bike in motion but that was it! Most MCN vids on youtube i find to lack details! this vid didnt tell us anything we didnt already know!! For such a GREAT paper they really let themselves down on youtube! plus a lot of adam childs vids are shocking quality(audio & visual)! They need to invest more time in this resource!

  • Cool Bike

  • i bet his a 34b!

  • ROFL

  • watch it

    watch?feature=channel_page&v=0BXLkzaiqI8

  • tits?

  • yup

  • not so bad presentation in my humble opinion.... and i like his tits...

  • Who is this boring twat? I have never, ever, seen such a dull presenter. Nice wardrobe mate, next time put a jacket on to hide your man-tits, you boring fucker.

  • You can also get a low seat 4 this bike about 55mm lower than standard it works 4 me..

  • how much you buy?

  • 9650€

  • I love everything about this bike except the exhaust note. (And possibly the price, I don't know how much they go for yet)

  • around £7000 mate. i was about to order one until i sat on it... A bit too tall for me and the seat is a bit like a plank.

I suppose it IS an enduro bike....

  • im trying to decide on the f800gs or the 1200, thinking if the 800 is bit small, for proper touring. anyone been touring in an 800 yet?

  • The 1200 is a barge, its top heavy & falls over all the time & is a prick to get back up, Ted Simon has been riding round the world for decades & he reckons a 650 single is the go, lighter the better, i think the F800GS is the way myself.

  • thats what i mean, the engine is week then¿? im planing buy one,let me know

  • not at all. 84 hp is plenty.

  • (¯`v´¯)Bike(¯`v´¯)

  • Amateurs... cool bikes have that button that wheelies the thing when pushed. The guy was just asking if this particular model has it too. The answer is no, but is available as an aftermarket in three different colors. Still the stoppie remains a problem.

  • hahahaha that was a good one if it can wheelie... :)

have you ever ridden a motorcycle?

  • lol does it wheelie.... all motorcycles can do wheelie it's about skill

  • to anyone that have riden this bike, does the engine is powerfull, like an dirt bike? does whelie??

  • yeah all dirt bikes wheelie mate :) , just about what gear and how you pop it up you can either clutch it up , full throttle it up if its powefull, or you can dab the back break compressing the front forks and then use the throttle to use the front forks rebound then its all about the ballance
