  • what's the best omnichord? would the one with midi actually be useful?

  • @MichaelKhanTV Well if you hook it up to a sampler you could probably get some cool uses for it...I think its original sounds are a bit too....modern. They "almost" sound like real instruments...in a bad way.

  • I have to find one of those.

  • @DaiReborn They are great...

  • I wish I could have an OM-36 and start producing :) too rare on ebay... :(

  • @nightsaturn Take a SMS loan and start turning out them hits....

  • Looks like Luke Skywalker gave you his my first Sony LOL

I do think it looks and sounds nice by the way.

  • May the Omnichord be with you...always !

  • @RothHandle It takes an Omnichord to ring out with joy!

  • Are these the omnichords you are looking for ?

  • Of course. Omnichord chords are Omnichords! Never realised that hehe

  • hi, were can i find one of these>

    other than ebay?

  • Craigs list ? Fleamarkets ? Garage sales ? Harmony-central ?

They are pretty cheap, even on ebay...

  • thanks.

    how much was yours?

  • No idea...50-60 dollars maybe...in 2000 ? For a chord synth with sonic strings, drum machine, autokomp bass and solo synth...A pretty good deal.

  • buy a qchord the newer version. The backing rhythms on the older models are dated. I have a series 2 and it sounds great withouth the rhythms but very "bontempi" with.

  • I agree that the rhythms are a lot better on the Qchord, the Digital Synthesis sounds like a piece of junk. I dunno, maybe it's just I hate MIDI/Digital.

  • How does the Midi stuff work when using a sampler...It would be cool to use the chord buttons with lets say Mellotron samples...would that work ?

  • @RothHandle

There is no reason why you can't MIDI the chord buttons of a Q-Chord up to a sampler.

Two of my omnichords are MIDI compatible and hooking up the chord buttons to a sampler is easy, as long as the sampler can receive on MIDI channels 2 and 3 (the strumplate is channel 1)

  • I have never taken the rhythms too seriously...I think the Bontempi caharcter of the whole instrument is one of the good points.

  • I like the bontempi feel to it...If you have checked any of my other videos you might have noticed that I have no problems whatsoever with dated sounds...!

Its all just a matter of taste, I guess.

  • I have owned an Omnichord for years. They are simple to play and loads of fun.

  • Thay are really great. I use mine pretty often. I have even had ideas about recording an albums worth of material just using the Omnichord.

  • i've seen the omnichord listed in album liner notes for years and never new exactly what it was. very cool.

  • i wanna get me hands on one of those . lol .

  • They are fun...

  • cool sample for a hiphop beat
