  • I was raised catholic and educated by catholic nuns..even that i never suffered any abuse, What religion did to America from Barrow Alaska to La Patagonia Argentina was despicable somehow, There is still no tolerance in this planet. I got a proof...Irak, Africa,,,oil, greed, you name it. Thanks.

  • This Movie was very difficult for me to watch considering my own childhood. It is very good at dispelling the Myths about how good the Christians are.

We should Never forget this, or that the Sami were subjected to the same treatment. For that matter, the Scots, Irish, and Brits got the same deal, just a few centuries earlier. It makes it even more shameful that they became the new zealots spreading genocide and selfishness.

  • Very boring movie....

  • wasn't it the catholic church that had a big part of the boarding schools? I am catholic and seriously thinking about leaving it. it would be like a white friend saying i believe in the klan and their beliefs but i don't go to the meetings. I have long had a fondness and respect for the Native Indian cultures and this movie made me made me think hard about that respect and being a part of that religion.

  • LOVE IT ! Found it tonigth @ Sundance Channel.Dennis Banks was Great.Movie make me reflect we still haven't learn much about History.movies like this are a great eye opener.Look back into the Traditional People"s Old Ways.

  • This is not trailer. This is some kind of art. Pure art. LOVE it! I am looking for see it on filmsi.co.cc right now... I can't wait for this - Days of Heaven is one of my top ten favourite films OF ALL TIME and this looks like it cover similar ground. Plus it really looks amazing.

  • thats so horribleat

call me sencative, but i almost started crying...

well, after i figured out wat she was seeing

  • The main actress has a beautiful skintone : D

  • Bullshit Indian whining from a people than slaughtered each other as a hobby. 14 yo Apache boys were taught to cut a man's throat in such a way that it took him a day to die. Rape and slavery were commonplace like the negros of africa. Want to criticize Americans... go ahead it the freedom we give you but don't bitch like fags when you hear the truth about yourselves.

  • @matrix49A Man was created to commit war, but can you explain how more the 16 million people were reduced to a mere 237 thousand? We never really slaughtered ourselves, it was the terrorists that invaded this land. Did you know that in museums you can see the actually skulls of native children with their heads bashed in by the Calvary's that wouldn't leave until every man woman and child were all dead. Just thought you should know some shit before you decide to start saying shit.

  • watched this movie last nigh heart breaking well done movie and glad this is starting to make this issue more know! now im doing my native american history research paper on this issue of the abuse murder rape and cultural genocide in these government and church run native american boarding schools

  • I saw it today on moovi.co.cc and it was awesome! I don't get why people say this movie is a waste of time..

  • Its not anymore a hard thing to watch the the films online now, with the quality of video you expect...!! yes thats true...watch the best at moovi.co.cc!

  • This is why I ain't a Christian no more. Ive gone back to my old tribal ways.

  • @Bluefirefoley Every Human Being should listen to their Tribal Voice.

  • Though fantastical at times, the story was told well enough to allow for suspension of disbelief; the magic tricks are fun, but the story really draws the viewer in. It is really nice movie to see on kookíca. So dont wait, come and enjoy it.

  • god damn i love this movie, watched this movie again today, kick-ass movie. this is like the 10th time i have seen this movie. I found it at kookíca.

  • I instantly fell in love to this movie! He makes the best films. I saw it on kookíca! THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD MOVIE!!! I understood it at the time but as soon as I stopped watching it- it confused me...

  • I think that probably what is the most moving though is that this film that I saw on kookíca is able to take hold of you and when you're let go in the end; the only thing you can think of is that you are just glad to seeing it.

  • shame on the church!

  • The DVD is now released and on sale...at Amazon and a few other outlets...

  • I believe this is a story that needs to be told for more reasons than can be counted, and I'm glad it's finally being told, but I do not agree with the filming of sacred ceremonies, these ceremonies were not to be filmed or photographed in any way, and I believe the production company and the director, being native themselves should have known that. It is important for us as native people to help repair the cultrual taumas that have plauged us for years, but in a respectfull and traditional way.

  • The story of abuse and mistreatment of children is that it is widespread in The Dominant culture, and from the vast bulk of first contact data, pretty rare in Aboriginal cultures.....

    This is all about POWER.

It is time for the people of the Dominant Culture to recognise that it is dysfunctional, and that the wisdom of Survivors MUST be brought to the fore, for their stories are the living evidence, and where they have found pathways to recovery, so to might the Dominant Society's peoples.

  • @djlookwood Thank you for sharing your wise words, I suppose I am a part of the dominant culture since my ancestry is European based however as a Woman I am still atleast one step down from the Patriarchals who are the core leaders and am a survivor of this dysfunction. I would like to have your permission to use your words to share them so that the chain bringing the wisdom of the Survivors can continue to move forward!

  • @SpiritGirlSF For sure, use the words if they speak to your heart, to your rational mind. The story is our story, whichever culture we are born into, for it is the story of the natural child, born into an un-natural Society.

  • Older Than America will be released on dvd on October 12th 2010!

  • i'm a native filmmaker. I'm making a movie about boarding schools too but its a more old fashioned ghost story titled 'the unrest". check out the trailer on my page or just type in the unrest teaser trailer. hope u like it!

  • Does anyone know when this movie is coming out on DVD? I really want to buy it.

  • Adam Beach!!

  • im glad im indigenous to this continent.

  • The older I get the more I realize that the so called western world is not all that civilized and that history continues to repeat itself. I am a free spirit that wishes I was born in America before the Vikings ever caught site of this land. This film looks fantastic. I am about to finish The Journey of Crazy Horse by Joseph M. Marshall III. A must read!

  • is this movie available yet

  • check out unrepentant a documentary of aboriginal genocide in canada by kevin annett know the horrible history of the genocide of native peoples there and also know that it happened here in america as well by boarding schools ran by the government and religious institutes knowing our bloody history can help save the future from repeating its horror

  • the lines are too stereotypical (cliche), at least in this trailer. if you're in native culture you've heard all these lines a million times. they're in every ndn movie!! hoping not to be disappointed when i finally get to see it.

  • u wont be..its a good movie..and hits home for a lot of elders that i kno have seen this...its a lil wierd at points but overall its a good movie

  • Wow, sounds like a great movie

  • This movie looks EXTREMELY good! I'd Great job Georgina and all who worked on this film! Poor kids that had to go through all that!

  • It still goes on, to this day. The organizations are not held accountable and seemingly everyone looks the other way.

  • Cannot wait to see this film - good for you Georgina to help expose the murders that went on in these 'schools'

FYI: check "witness to murder at indian residential school" on youtube.

  • This is a awesome movie! Native brothers and sisters watch it when it comes to your area. Support it or ask you tribe to bring it to your Rez. too see!

  • I just seen the movie last night and it is awesome. Great way to state the facts. Fantastic job Georgina.

  • i fucking HATE priests and there religion

  • Geremia08, see if you can get a free dictionary with your next bible. The movie seeks to tell a painful truth that is very real, not to disparage. And while abortion statistics are heartbreaking, abortion isn't a genocide because its victims don't belong to a particular ethnic, racial, or national group. Since you apparently know how to use a computer, try googling Native American boarding schools and learn something today. God Bless you.

  • Geremia08-How can you compare such an HORROR like Boarding Schools to Abortion?!..You don't know anything about those schools, I hope. Otherwise you are just the kind of fanatic who is going to ruin Catholic Church..So far from God, in the name of God!..I am a catholic and I feel very ashamed by people like you and my Church past and present behaviours! Both of you left Jesus outside the door and call yourselves Christians!..Shame..shame..shame.

  • You're fucked in the head lady/dude/whatever....get help

  • So the truth is coming out. Once individual groups secure truth, could we all work together (Africans, Native Americans, Irish, Italians, Turks, Arawaks, Caribs, Inca, Mayans, Aztecs, etc). Those of us that have suffered under Imperial powers, could unite and form the foundation of a better world. REAL CHANGE.

  • Powerful movie. Let it be known. Thank you for honoring us with your talent. Thank you Georgina.

  • looks good

  • Another movie that goes on my list of films to see!

  • I´m really looking forward to this movie.

  • This looks like great movie. I cant wait till i can see this.

  • I researched NA boarding schools for my final thesis in college - this country has many things to be ashamed of in its past, but this is a big one - one of those subjects completely glossed over (or ignored) in generic American history courses. I still shudder at some of the stories I heard/read about those places.

Is this out on DVD or in the theaters? Would really like to see it.

  • Hey, where Can i get this movie from?? i've been looking for this for awhile already...

  • Great movie I loved it.

  • i live in conneticut i was wandering when did this movie come out and where did you see it.

  • I've seen it, and it's an indignant movie that shames whitewashed American history without digressing into harangue. Cathartic for those connected to native boarding schools. Spooky humanism AND great actors.

And I agree, ill editing on the trailer. It would hook me.

  • hey georgina good piece of work there..me and muh mom saw the screening last nite....oh this is ryan

  • thanks for your appreciation of our film.

i hope your mom liked it.

    georgie lightning
