Good Lecture,

but 80 % of it need not be put in public domain, as it was mainly into explaining about the grading system and all that [i hope that it should be cut as edited].

Only the part related with Inductive and Deductive Reasoning and in the last section the explaining about Political Economy were worth listening to.

I am a political science major myself and there is no cause for rude behavior. There are other means of communicating course requirements that are more professional. Especially in an institution such as UCLA the students are not fools so instructors need not add any drama or inconsiderate behavior to the course. Simply teach the material to the best of your abilities and leave everything else to the students. This is not kindergarten...all students are adults and should be treated as such.

I am guessing by the way you put "competitive" in quotes, that you did not attend UCLA. If you did, you had some type of major that did not have high enrollment. Being a UCLA Alum, who received a Degree in Political Science, introduction classes such as these would have an average enrollment of 200-300 students. Did I mention Political Science is one of the most taken Majors at UCLA, an institution with around 40,000 students. So yes, I would say that getting into this class is very competitive
