hi. Thanks for the video .. I've followed your advice .. i've set the frequency same as urs to 900Mhz and vsel to 56 ..have you been experiencing any problem so far ? like over heating n stuff ? thanks
please someone answer can you put custom roms onto your phone in the new version of milestone overclock if you cant and you try to will it brick your phone?
So I rooted my MT3G with this and un rooted because I heard there's a OTA update coming, so after I clicked un root I don't have super user and I restarted, is my phone completely un rooted so I can recieve the OTA? please respond
@xavierp0nce While my phone was still "rooted", I click on check system update and there was a minor firmware update by my telco which I managed to download and install with no problems. Then after the firmware was installed, the phone rebooted.
But after reboot, it was "unrooted" again. So I had to repeat the same process again to "root" and then overclock my Milestone to 900mhz 56vsel using Milestone Overclock (now with new version)
what are the benifits and cons of rooting your motorola milestone? Also are you able to watch youtube videos on the phone? I just bought one and realized that you need froyo but it is not out yet on the milestone and maybe won't even come out. thanks for the help.
@flareblitz007 Sorry, this Universal Androot method only gives u superuser access or root access only. U cannot install custom ROMS with this method. Please google for G.O.T or Cyanogen custom ROM for Milestone
@stephiie11 Rooting will give you Super-user or Admin access to your phone. Meaning no restrictions. U will need root access in order to run the overclocking app.
Overclocking simply means to increase the speed of the phone's processor (CPU) .
@Lazur120 The thing about Android is that the CPU speed is throttled. It doesn't run at full speed all the time. It will see the situation or if the app is demanding more processing power, then it will bump up the processor speed. So it may spike up to 800mhz or 900mhz for a second or two and then drop down to around 550mhz then slow down to below 300mhz . When the phone is idle, it hovers around the 267mhz region. It's hard for me to tell you. Perhaps u can try and monitor yourself.
Worked a treat thank you very much :-) , great work , Now can you tell me hot to load custom roms, i have read you need to flash the vunrable recovery or something, sorry for being a noob....
@iainnixon Forget it. Milestone's boot loader is locked unlike the original Motorola Droid. So for now, just enjoy the ability to overclock and run wi-fi tethering and install other apps for rooted phones.
@lobitoh I have replaced the stock interface with Launcher Pro. You can find it in the Android Market. It has both the free and paid version. Both version will make your interface much smoother when scrolling from home screen to home screen and also make the app launcher drawer much responsive when you scroll up and down.
@iacdxb Milestone Overclock can be downloaded via Android Market. The Universal Androot has been removed. But you can google for it and find it from other website/forum/blogs.

Guys and gals, please stop asking me about this method. It was a workaround solution for those Milestone owners on Android 2.1
I have since abandon this method and went straight to custom ROMs like CyanogenMod and CRONOS and have never looked back to stock Android.

@flareblitz007 It will decrease the life of your phone, but by the time your phone dies there will already be another cool phone to get.
