  • "Don't eat a lemon; it might make you sick."

  • Nobody eats a lemon because lemons are sour.

  • i like fruit

  • genius songwriting isnt it, they really knew how to get through to kids.

  • One fruit they Didn't mention is KIWI.

  • So, I haven't seen this in 18 years or so. I started singing it right after "What do you do with...". It all came back to me!

  • wooooooooooooow! throwback! i really remember this one

  • A nectarine is not a cross between a peach and a plum, like he says. Also, I eat lemons all the time, and I think they actually prevent me from getting sick. Hahaha. I love to eat lemons.

  • Haha! You're right. A nectarine is chemically identical to a peach. The only difference is the lack of fuzz. Also, nectarines tend to be a little more firm and a little sweeter than a peach. Hey, I also take lemons to keep from getting sick. They area a great boost of Vitamin C, they help you salivate more to assist in rinsing your sinus cavities of toxins, and the citric acid changes the pH balance of your saliva, which helps to eliminate certain illness causing bacteria. Right on!

  • Well, necatrines are the same color as peaches, but texture-wise they are more like plums. So technically speaking, Joe is right.

  • I remember this song very well. Especially the squirt in your eye part.

  • I'm a mother, but don't give that pineapple to me, I'll destroy it and stain the floor trying to cut up some nice pieces for you!

  • I'm eating a NEC-TARINE right now, so I had the urge to look up this song..!

  • I got this link for Mother's Day - the best present ever!!!!!!!

  • a NEC-TA-RINE!! there's a fruit a NEC-TA-RNE!!!! hahaha nice!

  • lol taht is my favorite part of this song! So dramatic

  • To this day every time I eat most types of fruit it creates a mess most five-year-olds would scold me for...and I think of this song and laugh. :)

  • I totally remember this. Must have been from either the 70's or at least the early 80's. In this song Joe Raposo reminds me of John Valby. If you do not know John Valby he is a piano player who puts dirty lyrics in popular music. He is hilarious.

  • Well, I remember it acutely from my childhood, so much that I could sing along to a bit of it after, oh, 17 years? And I was born in 86, so that depends on how much they were rerunning shows back in the day. Wtf happened to the charm sesame street used to have?

  • if you have a dirty mind this song is quite funny!

    :D

  • i used to love this song

  • "And a NEC-TARINE, there's a fruit, a NEC-TARINE"...very funny.

  • Another fruit that wasn't mentioned was a tomato although some people, like myself, think that it is a vegetable.

  • yeah, I also still think of tomato as a fruit. I just realized that corn was a grain recently.

  • this is even more awesome than i remember lol

  • this should've been seen a couple years ago since good nutrition was one of the special themes.

  • i remember this!!!!!!!!

  • Funny, this clip isn't loading (and I waited several minutes on a high-speed connection)...

  • The only fruit not mentioned in this song is a coconut.

  • Technically, a coconut is a nut, not a fruit, but it still tastes great when you shred it over a fruit salad.

  • I even heard that a banana is a herb'not a fruit.

  • and a blueberry technically.

  • Joe's gone Andy Rooney on us:-)

  • OMG-I've been waiting for this one to be posted for a while-thanks so much!

  • I like oranges the most.

  • Oh, YES! I have had a recording of this for years, but don't recall seeing the film. Thank you!

  • OMG,I haven't seen this in years!Thanks for posting.
