  • I am aware. I'm using a pretty high temp lead free solder in this video which has a lot of flux to it. I set the Haco on a higher temp and it seems to flow really smoothly. I won't buy that solder again, I prefer the Kester, which works nicely and normally. I agree it's a bit weird, but that's how I get the most agreeable joints with this MG lead free (too little silver) mix.

    Indeed, though, kids, solder to joint - not to iron, and heat the joint! You are right, sir.

  • you should really heat your joints before you apply the solder. you can get cold joints that way.
