  • It's sad how difficult this song is to find.

  • "Twentieth Century Drifter: The Life of Marty Robbins" by Diane Diekman will by published by the University of Illinois Press on 1 March 2012.

  • @singerbiography I know I can't wait for it

  • Seems like every time I google Marty I find another great song I had never heard before, or in a long time. What a magnificent song, from the greatest singing storyteller, and 1 of the few greatest singing performers of all time.

  • no one can match him now or ever.the greatest voice of all time. my favorite singer of all time. thanks for posting all that you do. marty will be forever missed

  • Marty Robbins: One of the greatest singers ever in any genre. There will never be another like him. R.I.P. Mr. Robbins.

  • excellent!

  • marty was one of the best

  • New for me!

And I think I´ve heard most of him!

  • I can't even imagine how it would feel to open your mouth and have such incredibly beautiful tones flow out! What a fine gift he had.

  • I heard Andy Williams on the radio recently and no disrespect, but I think Marty was a better vocalist than him and many others in the Pop field. My top two are Marty and Elvis, both singers who could sing any kind of song.

  • I agree completely with your comment! Andy Williams could sing, but Marty was so much more than just a fine singer! Elvis was also one of THE best ever. There are a few rare jewels in life, and Marty and El were of the highest quality.. both were pure all-around talent.

  • thanks for putting this song up i love this song... thanks

  • I love mp4ify for ripping utube videos as mp3 or mp4 - its simple..

  • I'm just writing about this song in Marty's biography. He said he wrote it before "Big Iron" and "Mr. Shorty." He recorded it twice but it didn't ever get on an album until "All-Around Cowboy" in 1979. Ralph Emery bugged him for years to release it as a single.

  • It's alway puzzled me how Marty gave away a great song like 'Ever Since My Baby Went Away' to Jack Greene and never recorded it himself. Likewise, how Bill Johnson his steel guitarist never got Marty to record 'A Wound Time Can't Erase', which became one of the all time great Country songs.

  • @singerbiography Greetings! I'm very interested to know if the' Marty Robbins' biography that you are writing has been published yet. If so I would love to get hold of a copy, there is far to little information out there about this HUGE talent. He has been my life long inspiration, as both a singer and a songwriter.

  • this song is similar to Mr. Shorty

  • the moto i believe was one problem 1 ranger only in modern days 1 riot 1 ranger

  • he was a arizona ranger not a texas ranger lol

  • well weren't the arizona rangers as tough as whang leather aand always tried to get their man? smile
