  • The second heron looked like you didn't quite unroll enough...

& Make sure you unroll QUICKLY - it's amazing how much higher a fast unroll can make you. Also maybe don't pull your bent leg quite as far down?

Remember to hold at the top of your porpoise before the descent :)

  • man i hate porpoise so much! is that about how fast it should be done in a figure competition or is that just the speed for your routine?

  • for a figure competition, it should be slower...i hate porpoise too, i can never get it right. for a technical routine, some people do it even faster than what I am showing here...

  • in heron arn't u supposed to catch at bent kneee?

  • heron boost is ok,but porpoise.....ohhhh !!! please,more practice !!

  • I've been a closet synchro fan myself for many years, but have never told anyone until now.

In addition to the hard work it obviously requires (synchro has been described as similar to running a 440-yard dash while holding your breath), it's also one of those sports (along with figure skating, gymnastics, and the half-pipe at the X-Games) which sometimes seems to be scored by using an Ouija board.

Let me be another to tell you good luck and don't quit.

  • Thanks for your great comment 1min2midnite it's appreciated! :o)

  • you have really good extension in your legs so it looks good!

    i hateee porpoise!

  • umm for heron yours is looking pretty good to get out higher scull harder and stretch up also i like to do a double press over my head at height. if u get stuck in porpoise i start in paddle scull then switch to support and start by pushing with the front of my legs then the back so that i dont over pike ....iono im not a coach thats just wut works for me everyones differnt

  • Thanks again! I need to practice this heron more using the double press, sometimes I think my heron is hit or miss. Pike to vertical is still a little difficult for me, also a hit or miss thing. I need to practice more! :o)

  • yeah i know it does just take practice. good luck with everything

  • You look pretty good. Just thought I'd let you know. Good Luck!

  • Hey thanks, I appreciate your nice comment :o)

  • You're very welcome. I came across your videos on here. I don't do synchronized swiming cause I'm not that great of a swimmer and I am a guy, but I have a lot of respect for you and others that do it because it looks like it takes so much work and everything. People who don't consider it a sport are crazy. You all work so hard.

  • You're awesome, thanks for the encouraging words and your support of the people in this sport :o)

  • ya, i dream more of having gemma mengual's legs! her knee extention, her points..

  • you're pretty good :) my senior taught me smth about switching from pike sculling to vertical sculling as you raise your legs. it worked for me! oh yeah & try to make it less jerky. sometimes my porpoise is quite wobbly too. haha its hard!!

  • You have done it quite good now, right?

  • I can always improve, my knee has a tendency to break away from my leg in the bent knee position. I have to focus more :o)
