  • love it!!

  • @SRMeadows I Knew it! It's Funny, we don't see these kind of stuff in music videos, only in live dvd's and stuff... haha

  • A favorite.

  • Randy is Ok but Ross is better

  • Cmon guys get back together and crank it up one more time pleeeeaaasssseeee, and come to europe........

  • Is Neal dodging from some object at 1:33? shaushausahuas'

  • @chapolys Man...I think so.....somebody threw a cup or something......I saw that too.

  • randy is a great groove master plus he has great bass tone

  • Damn great show in Calaveras County. I was there when this was filmed.

  • I saw this tour and Randy is a very respectible bassist.

  • Oh, cause i was beginning to wonder why Randy Jackson is famous >_>

  • crutch FTW! 2:06

  • Wow!! The vocals on this, lead and harmonies, are excellent. I never would have admitted to liking Journey back in the day (unless I happened to be liquored-up and feeling candid and sappy), but they were (and are) outstanding musicians/songwriters/performers. The guitarist can play his ass off, the vocals soar, the band seems genuinely happy to be playing, and these guys are tight...thanks for posting this!

  • Who's the drummer? he looks like summat off ice road truckers.

  • @mordig - Mike Baird, I think his name is. Studio guy. Played with Rick Springfield, among many others.

  • @nitedrive Larrie London...I have the lp...checked the liner notes!

  • @GrandFunker - Right; Larrie played on the studio version. But the guy who toured with them - and who appears in this clip - is Mike Baird.

  • @nitedrive I guess you know that by his pink hat? lol

  • @mordig Larrie London

  • Kick ASS SONG

  • boobies at :53?

  • @Ktonrider

    sorry bro, white lace top

  • Yes, that is idols Randy Jackson! I love it when the ignorant contestants say "you should get up here and do it!!" lol he has!

  • A favorite.

  • Randy Jackson?..... Is this bass player the same Randy Jackson on American Idol?......

  • @varminblast yeah, the same guy.

  • @varminblast yes the very same (Randy Jackson)

  • didnt even realize i had the number one comment up here. JOURNEYMEN, UNITE!!!!

  • When we were kings.......

  • Look at that hair do on Randy Jackson at 0:39 LOL :)

  • Steve looked INCREDIBLE!

  • man randy really gives the backing vocals a kick such a powerful voice

  • I am glad I lived through this time. Some good music in this era.

  • God, no one else looked as good in a tight pair of jeans as Steve Perry !!!

  • Steve was ALWAYS a cutie, still is but he LOOKS SO DAMN GOOD here!!!! I LOVE THIS SONG! My summer song driving with the windows down and the Red hair a flyin WOO HOO... memories.

  • HOLY SHIT ITS RANDY JACKSON

  • @HIIMRAVI2 yea he was there before Ross was i guess your not a true fan then.

  • @littlebearawr dont think he ever said he was :P

  • look for randy jackson...:O

  • ok, Neal's guitar SCHON is sweet! and Randy is playing a Jackson!!! I KNEW IT!!!!

  • I was referring to Randy playing in one of the greatest bands of the last 3 centuries lol

  • Schon had his own custom guitar here, you don't see them around any music shops! Randy's playing Jackson well, because he's not Grover Jackson?!?! haha

  • Listen to the lyrics of the songs they sing. If you don't know them look them up. Great

  • Neil MAH DAUGG at 3:15

  • @russellmasc also at 3:15... Randay's aSlappin' da Bass like mad mon!!

  • @windparagon I saw this tour and YES ole Randy was bangin' the hell outta that Bass! AWESOME TOUR... Great memories of JOURNEY, and us ALL in the thousands holding up our cigarette lighters even us who didn't smoke LOL! Was SO NEAT to see the whole concert arena lit up with lighters in dedication of our FAV bands... those were the days.

  • Steve Perry at his best! So professional and the CORE of Journey. No one can replace him!

  • never knew randy was a journey member...rock on

  • @kordeldavis Really?

  • @kordeldavis Not just Journey, check out Taxxi!

  • OMG! The Girl Can't Help It"...........Sweet.

  • Steve Perry's voice is UN-FRIKIN-BELIEVABLE!! Long time Journey fan and this tune NEVER got the pub it should have. GREAT SONG!!

  • The BEST Journey song Ever!!!

  • hahah the crutch

  • @icecreamchute haha. not sarcasticly

  • Dang. What an incredible song. Especially from 2:00 to the end.

  • that is so sexy lol

  • randy just got a lot of respect from me

  • @biggiesmaus It's a good bass line but quite simplistic if you want my opinion. I figured it out in 2 sitting. The Ab was the only trick.

  • @biggiesmaus Big +1 here

  • @biggiesmaus so very agreed

  • @biggiesmaus I agree...That was cool seeing him ROCK!!!!!

  • Watched Randy in an interview last week on tv & they asked him what was the most embarrassing moment with Journey? Randy lol & said there was a few but the one that sticks out most was the blk leather pants he had on for one concert he said that were skin tight. He said they performed for about 45 mins onstage and after they finished, they walked offstage & he asked them whats the deal pointin/laughin? He was told he has a HUGE rip in his pants the last 45 mins lol....his guitar saved him LOL.

  • Somewhere on youtube here, someone does fire their underwear up on stage and it gets caught on the neck of neals guitar...while neals lol...he cant quit playing to get the panties off of his guitar for a few secs lol...HH is lol his arse off backstage along with some roadies,,,,

  • thats not all j cotts neal also did some solo stuff

  • This is a lot different than the one on the DVD. Same show, but you can tell there are different camera angles.

  • Look at pictures/videos of Clarence Clemmons from this time period, similar hair, ...

  • Randy Jackson from Zebra is white.

  • nice it was cool when randy jackson was in he was a good bass player

  • I love Neal @ 2:25 and Steve ALWAYS, but particularly at 2:20- and 2:39--- mmmm...mmmm...mmm

  • Confession: I still love Raised on Radio.

  • Confession? What Journey fan COULDN'T still love it?!

  • thats awesome. I dont understand why did Randy Jackson leave? and more importantly why does he dress and speak like hes a gangster?

  • Randy was only with Journey for the Raised on Radio tour...Journey actually never finished that tour in 1987 and more or less broke up. When Journey reunited in 1996 it was with their original bass player player who continues with the band today.

  • Sucks for Randy :(

  • @SuperChuck3

    WTF???

  • At 1:34, Neil Schon (guitarist) ducks a girl's panties being thrown at him.

  • What you miss in this version is someone throwing a water bottle at Neil's and Steve's feet at 1:25 and neither one flinches or loses a beat. Simply awesome.

  • Plus, I wanted to add (but the comment section cut me off because I was writing too much)- In my opinion they all, everyone of them looks GREAT here (not too young, not too old).

  • Believe it or not, Neal was only 30 when they did Raised On Radio. He started playing in Santana when he was only a teenager.

  • This is by far their best song for several reasons. 1) They all get to sing in great harmony with each other. 2) Steve gets to sing his great usual way with some high notes, as he does so well. 3) N. Shon gets to play some outstanding guitar work. 4) J. Cain gets to play a lot of his amazing piano work. 5) So basically EVERYONE is involved in this song. 6) It's a very upbeat lively song, not just another ballard. So those are the reasons that I find this song to be their best!

  • 3:16 Randy's bad-ass on the bass

  • Forgot to ask...which live concert is this from? I'd like to see more of Steve and his '80s hair.

  • so sad the bit where steve and neil jamming and smiling at one another,,,,totally loving it......so sad. what could hacve been??----journey will never truelly be journey without perry.hes the heart.

  • excellent! thanx 4 the post ;)

  • If I ever built a time machine, forget going to see the signing of the declaration of independence or witnessing the birth of christ, I'd go back to see this concert lol

  • never heard this tune before.. really nice. I have to say, the drummer and Randy really brought a -dare I say- funky groove to Journey... and it's really good, but this was a big departure from the Journey we know and love. In other words, it's not quite Journey without the core group -- but it's still great.

  • This song is a classic pop track - it's on their Greatest Hits album, which came out in 1988... you need to get that album. I do think this live performance is very vital, and a tad faster than the album version.

  • Say what you will about this iteration of Journey, but you HAVE to love everybody's '80s hair--especially Steve's. I think this is my favorite of all his 'dos. Even Neal had a little mullet going on. Then you've got Randy's assymetrical fro. I can enjoy the videos from this concert muted--just for the hair.

  • I think Randy did some work with Stevie Nicks in what capacity i dont knw.

  • cracks me up when an Idol contestant asks what Randy Jackson has ever done...

  • he is also one a lot of the bay area based band TAXXI albums and also in a video-also co-wrote the song "INFORMATION" W/ERIC MARTIN (of Mr. BIG)...he also plays all over the eric martin album...

  • I knew Randy Jackson was in Journey at one point! Nobody ever believed me, but blam! proof!

  • what is thrown at the guitarist? 1:32

looks like a bottle... but does anyone know?

  • actually it was a sock filled with sand, go figure

  • I heard it was a sock filled with Kosher salt....hmmm.....

  • This is great. What a rock voice!!

  • I THOUGHT IT LOOK LIKE PANTIES.

  • OMG.........saw this band in concert in 2009 with Arnel...no insult meant, but Steve is the man......come on Journey, bring him back....please

  • someone over 60 with no voice left? No way. Great in his time but that was a looooong time ago

  • Very cool thanks for uploading!

  • omg its randy jackson!

    lol

  • I had no respect for him cause he is in America Idol...

now he has my full respect.

    Go Journey!

  • Randy Jackson on American Idol is older then the Jackson 5 Randy who is Michael Jacksons Younger brother. Look it up on wikipedia! Randy jackson american idol his real name is Randall and The jackson 5 randy is just a nick name for him his real name is Steven. NEITHER of the Randy Jacksons are dead at this point in time either. People need to google and get their facts stright before they post stuff.

  • lol, wikipedia rules

  • So does Rock Band's facts in loading screens

  • oh yeah, lol thats how i found out

  • randy jackson is the shit lol awesome look

  • yo wut up dawg? Randy Jackson rocks dawg? I can't believe Randy's Michael Jacksons brother dawg!!!

  • i know about Michael's brother (randy "super idol" jackson) , that's why i asked.thanks anyway , i'll google it

  • Randy Jackson the American Idol Judge was Born: 23 June 1956 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Steven Randall Randy Jackson the brother of Michael Jackson was born October 29, 1961 and is an American singer and musician. Hes a member of the Jacksons. He is the youngest among the Jackson brothers while Janet is the youngest of the Jackson family.

  • we will miss you Mr. Jackson. American Idol will not be the same.

  • RIP Randy Jackson. I can't believe he was 50 when he died, he looked good for his age (no homo)

  • Randy aint dead

  • randy is not dead wat the were u comin out from

  • micheal jackson died not randy jackson haha

  • wtf?

  • Neil created bad english after journey went on hiatus in 87

  • Neal dodging panties @ 1:33

  • neil schon quit bad english for journey

  • Was it Neal Schon on the guitar??? He quit Bad English an then join Journey or opposite?

  • Neal Schon left Santana to form Journey around 1973-74. Journey broke up in 1987. From there Neal and Jonathan formed Bad English. Their first album was great, their second album bombed. After that, Neal formed a new band, 21 Guns. He also toured with Paul Rodgers. In 1996, Journey got back together.

  • If you want to hear what a great bass player Randy Jackson is, listen to the Jean-Luc Ponty albums he played on. While I think JLP's former bassist, Ralphe Armstrong, was even a more phenomenal player, Randy held up his end impressively.

  • LMAO!!! Rock the Frollet Randy!

  • omg hahahaha @ randy...time really changes people i see haha

  • Ha Randy Jackson rocks!

  • Who's the drummer in this one?

  • ha ha ha ha ha WOW Randy

  • Wow love Randy's look. He's a great bass player, I didn't know he was that good. Love Steve Perry, always amazing.

  • This song was from raised on radio and one of their time albums i think time 2 a live performance of it great song

  • Helluva Tune.

    Awesome Vocals.

    Journey! Please come back Steve!

  • HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!!

I love steve perry and randy jackson together

  • Oh Neal Schon is so fine here...Steve is great voice...and Randy Jackson...well, on the bass...

  • Is that Dennisse Chambers on drums?

  • CCazaresMajor, The Raised On Radio Tour featured Mike Baird on drums. He has played with Tina Turner,Hall &Oates,Rick Springfield and Rod Stewart. The late Larrie London played drums on the album.

  • hey!

    Thank you Redstone

  • sweet-- i was gonna ask who was on drums, then scrolled down to see this!!!

    ps. steve smith is cooler!!!!!!

  • watch @ 1:34. some dumb Sh*t throw water bottle at Neal.

  • Randy is da shit

  • I thought he was a little pitchy...' work it out dog'...lol

  • neal can play...

  • HOLY MOLY! No negativity. Let's breed some more y'all.

Be SAFE, Be WELL, PEACE to ALL. . .

-Lone Wolf (Search for me on the Web: LEO1WOLF, I'm everywhere)

  • Go Randy!!!!

    And Steve Perry still owns.

  • Randy looks like Mr. T a little but he and Journey (STEVE PERRY especially) OWN!!!

  • the piano player doesn't look like jerry sienfield.

  • play that base randy :)

  • It is spelled BASS

  • I wish Randy would his friends from Journey as guest judges on American Idol....or maybe he could snag Steve Perry to guest judge...wouldn't that be sweet?

  • Randy was only in for a year or two, and played bass, not guitar. He's actually a Grammy winning producer, and is damn good at what he does. He's also a session bassist. And is also damn good at that. So that's why he's a judge.

  • Right you are, Sir! My friend was telling me the same things earlier tonight--and I blush to say that I didn't even know that Randy was one of THE Jacksons!

I love the harmonies in this live version.

To luckysmusic, thanks for posting this with lyrics

    Saved and Faved!

  • he wasnt one of THE jacksons

  • Actually, he was. Google The Jackson Family.

  • There was a Randy in the Jacksons but it's not the same one.
