I've been a tank for all of the time I've played Runescape, not even because I saw videos and was inspired but because I enjoyed using range more. I play on a Maxed tank and I find it increasingly harder to pk on it. I never profit Pking with "honor" so I'm left with maging. I understand there's a combat triangle (which shouldn't be there) but Range is seriously underpowered.

Ive had a maxed tank for a while now. It does seem that everytime I go back to play runescape range is worse than what I remember it being even with ccb rigour ang the whole bit. The thing is that it is still hard as ever to find a fight with good risk. I find myself using my pernix setup to just get a simple edge kill.

I have a maxed rigour tank ranger with all the best gear possible and i still find melee to have the upper hand in all fights, there is not one good spec weapon for range besides hand cannon, but that doesnt count because its so slow people can eat to full b4 you hit. Jagex needs to give us rangers something that can hit 800s with 2 specs *cough*ags*cough* otherwise there is no reason for range besides mixing it up 4 fun.

The true reason why people like your vids is because range is more difficult than any other pk style, so it makes you different. @Benbob59 I was talking cmb 4 cmb, but tanks can still win maxed mains pretty easily, tzhaar won sparc mac in brid matches multiple times, range/mage fcing against melee/mage, the range/mage will win usually unless the melee catches freezes right next to them a lot, so the best chance a 126 has to win is to also range/mage, but since they're 126, the tank can bring a yak to balance out the cmb, giving the tank the advantage again, and tanks have higher def then 126s against turm due to lowat/str

@tzhaarown well honestly, i am a ranged tank too, and since the soaking update, i cant hit. my max is like 480 with a d bolt spec in dhides so i see what you mean. the thing is, obby shield has 11% range absorbtion. that is more then rune legs and body together. and back in pvp w/o soaking, you could hit alot of 0s on dh, but you could combo really hard too.

Ranged is way too underpowered, compared to melee it doesn't stand a chance at all. Melee armour can be used with ranged and mage armour but not the other way around, and melee armour gives both great offensive and defensive stats, the list goes on..
