@04popo700 probally cause they wanted to show how a DOHC cam SUPERCHARGED V8 barely pulls on a single cam LS1...i wish GM would have thrown a blower on the LS1 and made a 2003 model..cause the Termi would have been called the bitch...Termi makes 370 HP to the wheels...an LS1 makes around 300 to the wheels...slap a procharged on it..you got 460 RWHP from the LS1...weird huh? lol
@ilovechevy1 i wish ford would of made a 5.7 liter dohc engine, instead we had to fight you with our little 4.6 liter in the 99/01 cobra and still kept up with you. now we have our little 5.0 that beats your 6.2 liter hahahaha embarrassing. chevy only makes more power because of their displacement, but ford makes more impressive engines. john mihovitz little 4.6 liter DOHC modular engine running a 6.19 @ 235, LS1 is a great engine, but nothing ford couldn't have done with the same size.
@TUNEDBYRET and your you lil 4.6L in the 99-01 cobras only did just barely keep up..the LS1 still made on average 20 or so more RWHP...and not to mention the BASE MODEL V8 mustang GT of those years had no chance in hell in keeping up with the BASE MODEL V8 LS1 camaro..the Z28..that was the story all the way from 93 when GM brough out the LT1 and wrecked havoc on Ford's mustangs till 98 and then the smack down got even worse with the LS1..hell even a 98 Z28 is faster than a2010 stang GT...so sad!
@ilovechevy1 yeah and the mach 1 has been known to walk stock 98-02 ls1s, how can the base model gt, a 2v be compared to the z28 which is a ls1? therefore making it pretty much the same thing as the ss. gm has always had bigger engines, it shouldn't even be fair, big difference in size, maybe if gm started making a 4.6,5.0,5.4 then it would be more fair, but no they always needed at least 1 liter more. z28? 2010 gt? sad? yeah if the gt had a 5.7 liter.
@ilovechevy1 slap a pulley, full exhaust, tune, you got yourself about 460 hp to the wheels too. slap a procharger on the ls1? how long will that engine last? remember ls1's don't come with forged internals like the terminator does. chevy has got nothing, we have always been david and you guys have always been goliath. look at the new 5.0 and all the great power that is putting out "all motor" Ford Modular power!!!
@TUNEDBYRET the new 5.0 is very impressive.,..ther eis no denying that...but once again at the end of the day it's still only 5.0 L..what i mean by this is yes the LS3 6.2 L only makes about 15 or so more hp...but when you go to modding them is where they really open up..the 5.0 has 4 cams and for only 300 dollars you can change the cam in the LS3 and make 460 RWHP with a tune..it has been done..to do that with the 5.0 is gona be 1000 or more for cams..the 6.2L has more growing room than the 5.0

@TUNEDBYRET dont't flatter yourself too much with the forged internals the GT500 or Termi's use...yes i agree they can hold alot more hp than an LS1..but there have been thousands of Termi guys blow thier engines trying to make 800-900 RWHP( some can do it..some cant')..if you noticed a good bit of Termi guys have changed out there internals for aftermarket peices...and if you pick up the current copy of hot rod magazine you will see where they took a stock bottom LS1 style 4.8L to to 1200+ hp!!
