Mac isn't any safer than Windows, in fact, it's probably less safe.

Just because there are far less cases of infection on Mac than Windows, doesn't mean it has anything to do with Mac's security. Hackers simply write malware for Windows because it's far more popular than Mac. And because there is less malware for Mac, that probably means there are less Anti-Virus programs for Mac. However, Macs are becoming more popular and no doubt, in the next year or so, heaps more viruses will appear.

Lol. Conficker was made by a large organization that is working with the antivirus companies. Look at what it does. NOTHING. It's been so long since it's done anything. The reason they made it is to highten ad revenue for antivirus companies with their "so called" conficker removal tools, etc. The website traffic they received probably increased by 100x. Conficker will do nothing at all. Relax people.

Funny seeing the fanboys saying ''haha MACs are better, virus free etc etc'' The only reason is because MACs are pretty much pointless to hackers, because in comparison hardly anyone uses them compared to PC's, including supercomputers. Yes definitely Macs are gaining popularity and although its hard to gauge a Mac/windows user ratio the market share of Macs is around 8% compared to 90% for windows (in 2008). The point is, this is a clear cut reason why viruses/hackers aim themselves at PC and not macs/linux. Again not saying Macs suck at all or anything, just trying to point out why you find more viruses aimed at PCs.

Right now globally mac makes up 2 percent of the GLOBAL PC userbase (Stop calling windows PC, PC means personal computer, which mac is also) Now WHY..
