  • Niggy pop lmao

  • very Marilyn Manson

  • "This is niggy pop"

  • Some people are saying Saul needs to get back to his roots... Listen to the lyrics. Saul always speaks of more than what most allow themselves to hear.

I look forward to seeing Saul live.... Again!

  • Marilyn Manson-esque

  • I like it.

  • Very cool song and video. Very pretty on the visual.

  • I know that people are going to hate me for saying this, but this is the worst song he's ever made. Which doesn't say shit, because pretty much every other song (besides Girls Have Fun or smth) of Saul is very great too.

No big fan of this album, it definitely feels like it's on a less deeper level than any of his other works and is a lot happier than his other works. I understand, he grew, he grew as an artist, and I respect that. It's just not for me.

  • I love saul williams and he has just grown up so much musically it's wonderful. This video is a stunning music video and this song is sexy

  • To all the people wondering about the sound quality: this video came up before the album was released, so if I had to guess I'd say the sound quality is reduced to stop people ripping the audio for pirate mp3s.

  • I love this!!i GET IT.OKAY sAUL YOU GIVING THE =MC2 THE TRUTH!!!JUST FREAKING DANCE ALREADY!!EVERything doesnt have to be so serious /free your inhibitions and dance!!!

the song reveals a sexy side of saul.nice to witness. a true Rebel!!!love and light

  • One of the most underrated artists of all time! His live show is fucking amazing as well!

  • could seriously listen to this on repeat for the rest of my life

  • is saul gay? great music though just asking...

  • @MAJESTYOFFICIAL "Androgynous cosmology sets their spirits free/

and they neither men nor women be" (Saul Williams "Ohm"). The name "Niggy Tardust" is a play on David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust," another androgynous rocker/alien come to show us truth. "I'm not a woman/I'm not a man/I am something you'll never understand" (Prince "I Would Die 4 U"). "Get the wrong impression of expression/Then the question is...is he in a cult? Is he on drugs? Is he gay?" (Outkast "Return of the G").

  • I think it's funny that people don't get its complex simplicity JUST DANCE!

  • I love this ALOT!! I love Disco, and this has hints of it.

  • I really really love Niggy Tardust. But this isn't bad, hey. It's like something you'd here playing in the Pussywagon.

  • Better quality on vimeo

  • stop complaining and listen to this amazing music... no one I mean NO ONE is doing it like him he is ! Fucking Saul.....what a blessing from the divine !

  • check the vimeo version of this. it doesn't sound like an 8 track tape

  • Every artisthas to have that one album their true-blue fans dont agree with, maybe this is sauls, let him get it out of the way i spose :/

  • I guess he gave up... and just wants to have fun now...

  • France + Dance+Saul Williams = LOVE

  • Jamming my ass off to this as I speak!!!!

  • Saul, you've gotta get back to your roots. The guy who wrote ", said the shotgun to the head" at age 31 as the tanks rolled into Baghdad and then performed Coded Language on Def Poetry Slam should not be doing stuff this self-indulgent almost a decade later. Come on, man, I thought you were going to be the voice of a generation.

  • @jordankphillips and who are you to say what he should and should not do....?

  • @DiagramOfTruth Someone he wants to buy his albums and pay for tickets to his shows. That, and a guy who was really moved by his early work.

  • @jordankphillips i hear ya, but you can't expect an artist to go back to what they were doing in the past - especially Saul. All of his albums are completely different from each other. Maybe there isn't much political talk on this album because he doesn't live in U.S.A. any more.. Just a guess... And I don't see why this is sooo self-indulgent. It's a fun song. BTW, if you want a voice of this generation, be it.

  • YESSSS FOR JANELLE MONAE @ 3:20!!! I know that voice ANYWHERE!

  • this is a couple dimensions far from what i've gotten used to (amethyst, niggy). huh. idk what to feel

  • I haven't danced to a song in a long time ; this was no exception either..... but 'rocket' was : )

  • where is the "SMASHED drunk asshole?" Must be a club in space somewhere far from here.

  • It is awesome how he has grown as an artist.

  • I like the post industrial synths with the funk bass and cold dry vocals...great song, needs better bit rate or something, but I will be playing this at the club tonight!!

  • @saulwilliams I feel let down after watching this....

  • This reminds me of twin peaks for some reason...

  • I bet Trent Reznor disowned him as a friend and mentee for this. Really lame song, no power or passion or creativity like Niggy...selling out, but not even that good of a dance song, just lame.

  • oh snap! Lady Gaga went black

  • might wanna reupload this and fix the audio quality

  • miniminiminiminmals, very retro - nice

  • Not really feeling this

  • hey, he's going kinda more mainstream or what? definitely less radical-soundin than in the past

  • It's different, sounds like Saul went his own way on it but some of Trent's influence is lingering on which is cool. I'll probably listen to the whole album, cus its kinda cool

  • The blacklight stuff reminds me of The Residents "Wormwood" stage show.

  • Inspired by Ministry's Revenge ?

  • The entire album is solid. The tracks aren't as deep and memorable as his past albums, but I want to "dance" to the majority of his tracks. The deep and meaningful lyrics are still there, but like Saul said "this album is more about the music." If you watched his interviews he mentions that. All I know is that I have been listening to the album for the past few days, and that's all I've been listening to.

  • Dear Saul,

I'm going to party in Montréal next week for May 24 weekend; will you do the honour of joining my compatriots and I in getting wasted and exuding awesomeness?

  • Badly needs backing vocals (preferably female vocals) up the octave in the 'chorus'...great tune but the vocals hooks are lost..

    just my humble opinion

  • Great song.

Saul continues to push his sound.

  • Great song.

Saul continues to push his sound.

  • you are beautiful. fearless

    free

  • Wow this is horrible, hope the the rest of the record is better!

  • All you guys crying about his new sound remind me of the same posers that criticized Michael "Eyedea" Larsen (RIP) for doing Carbon Carousel and Face Candy. If all you want is all you know then how do you expect to grow? Saul Williams is a great artist who doesn't need permission to try something different and I fully support him since Slam & Amethyst Rockstar. If you don't like it, don't support it, but don't try and call Saul a sellout because that just makes you look dumb.. Much love Saul

  • when I saw the costumes on the Niggy Tardust tour I thought to myself "sell out".

now I can say it out loud, "sell out."

  • He has lost his voice, now he sounds like your average pop star song. Sigh.

  • So, what's the difference between making an important statement in music and just singing songs?: Trent Reznor, apparently.

  • Almost has an early post punk feeling to it - great work!

  • Now I have a strong urge to dance with dueling Cousin Its...

  • Please keep on posting videos and would love to see some interviews.

  • not a bad song, but why does it sound a myspace mp3 through vinyl ? even at 1080 it sounds jacked. if it's for effect, its whack.

  • @spiraltoend i'd say it because they knew it would mostly be listened to through laptop speakers and they wanted people to hear the bassline. i'd guess that anyway

  • @spiraltoend it's low quality

  • @spiraltoend and at parts it sounds like it's clipping...

  • @spiraltoend

its not intentional, this upload is fucked

go to vimeo dot com and search for this video and youll get the good shit

    peace

  • @spiraltoend I think it has a nice effect. It sort of makes the music seem more like it's playing in the background.

  • @spiraltoend Something through vinyl would mean that it sounds better, not worse.

  • @spiraltoend Yeah, global sound feels badly compressed or downsampled, It does feel like the song would be more enjoyable in better quality.

  • @spiraltoend your asking saul williams that, ya know. yet he's not gonna respond

  • Looking forward to the new album!

  • I totally agree with Sperva. I know Trent had a lot of influence in Niggy Tardust and I was really interested with what you would come out with next. I like this a lot and will actually purchase your album this time:)

  • It's interesting to see the dynamics of Saul Williams from Niggy Tardust to Volcanic Sunlight, at least in respect to this single. Quite a deviation from Niggy Tardust and still a great listen. Well done. Can't wait to hear the full album.

  • @sperva

I don't think Trent did the music on this one from listening to it. sounds great though

  • What a great way to have started my day. Lovin this!

  • good news! just got this on my mailbox! day is already cooler :)

  • Love the ole school feel

  • TOUR SOON, SAUL! : D

  • I NEED this on CD!

  • Wow! This is amazing. :P
