  • Rien de mieux pour faire craquer une femme... is very good..

  • how about my way in the philippines

  • "My Way" is often quoted as the most covered song in history.

  • "My Way" is a song popularized by Frank Sinatra. Its lyrics were written by Paul Anka and set to music based on the French song "Comme d'habitude" composed in 1967 by Claude François and Jacques Revaux, with lyrics by Claude François and Gilles Thibault. Anka's English lyrics are unrelated to the original French song. Anka is credited as a co-composer of "My Way" because he wrote entirely new lyrics to the original Claude François/Jacques Revaux music.

  • Here is a little information on the song "My Way""My Way" is a song popularized by Frank Sinatra. • @cpluni and you know that david bowie was mentioned to write the liricks on my way ,but anka didn t liked it,

so bowie took the lyricks back and composed life on mars

  • Here is a little information on the song "My Way"

  • One of my favorite songs. I preffer the Sinatara version. It's hard to believe Paul Anka was just a teenayer when he wrote such a deep song.

  • Paul still has a wonderful voice! What a talented man!

  • frank was a mafia boy ... don't promote him to anything

  • @keylock000 you are a bloody fool

  • No...

    true as true can be

if ya dont know it, then ya dont know it.... ando

if ya dont care then look the other way

    regards Keylock000

  • You can't discount the power of the style of the writer of the song. This is more theatrical, more emotional. With this duet you get a glimpse into the songwriter's soul. Anka is a giant in his own right. And his version is second to only Sinatra as it should be.

  • All 3 version were equally good.

  • nagyon jóóóóóó......very best!!!! XD

  • He wrote the english version of a French song. A genious?

  • I saw PA yesterday (12-23-10) at Table Mountain Casino in Friant, CA (near Fresno). I give the concert a grade of A-.

Why the minus? Many of his jokes were lame (he actually referred to President Obama as "President Elect Obama") and the Christmas songs were obviously not well practiced (he actually bungled the words to "The Christmas Song").

But his signature hits were done flawlessly, the orchestra was terrific, and best of all was a stirring and moving tribute to the great Sammy Davis Jr.

  • thumbs up if limp bizkit brought you here

  • one of my favourites.. beautiful song.

  • A brilliant interpretation by a brilliant singer.......and he also fuckin' WROTE it!!! Sinatra and Elvis may have brilliantly interpreted it, but Anka is the one who CREATED it!

  • HERMOSA VERSION DE ESTA SUBLIME CANCION QUE YO GRAVE EN MI IDIOMA.ESTA EN YOU TUBE JUNTO A 40 VIDEOS MAS CON CANCIONES DE MI REPERTORIO.

    APERTAS

  • muy bueno

  • I like this song!!

    PLEASE CHECK OUT MY VERSION!!

    Thank you!!

    x

  • Any song done by the writer of the song reaches it's peak. Anka could sing and he obviously could write. Presley and Sinatra, while great, were merely interpreters. this is the guy who created this masterpeice along with several others. I'll take Anka.

  • Paul Anka wrote this popular song My Way for Frank Sinatra but to me Elvis version is better

  • I LOVE THIS SONG.

  • I have great respect for Paul Anka, especially because he WROTE this song!!! Therefore, really it's his song!!!

  • @bellabells17 ...PAUL ANKA...DINT WRITE THIS SONG...THE SONG ITS A FRENCH SONG...

  • @bellabells17 and you know that david bowie was mentioned to write the liricks on my way ,but anka didn t liked it,

so bowie took the lyricks back and composed life on mars with my way lyricks

  • @bellabells17 ya franks a clown. just another mob connected singer so he could take what he wanted

  • @bellabells17 But the music comes from a song from Claude François.

  • HEY ARE YOU HADLEY FROM RRR one 2 three i did my wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • @pat13wx but he wrote the song, cmon hehe you gotta give him credit for that, very talented, his daughters pretty talented too, found her blog recently def worth a read

    antheaanka. com - love it!

  • Pretty solid cover. I'm impressed.

  • Paul Anka wrote the song for Frank Sinatra.

  • This may be the most beautiful song ever written and Frank did it best but Paul Anka wrote it along with many other hits, Diana being one.

  • SOOO TOUCHING BEAUTIFUL!!!! - 5Million stars for it!!!!

  • ok. I see I'm on; so I'll try again. Jozzie, as I said, this is the 1st time I heard or read anyone say PA is Lebanese. I looked it up. While the primary reference is to Syrian, there is also secondary mention in some of those same sites, including his own, to his being Lebanese.

This is just a guess. It may be: 1. he has Syrian-Lebanese intermarriage in his family. And/or 2: Since recent N. American suspicion of things "Syrian", he may prefer to identify with the more embraced "Lebanese".

  • this is a test, since I've had trouble posting

  • I think this is a better performance's than Elvis' by much. Elvis had to immitate Elvis all the time. This is a pure performance. Pure and thorough interpretation of Anka's own lyrics, and great lyrics, in this case.

  • I went to Israel 25 years ago. They thought THE American singer was Paul Anka.

  • love paul anka since he was a teenager!

  • sids version is way better

  • Love Paul what a great singer/songwriter. Classy guy.

  • beatifull song i like paul he is big singer of all times .

  • Paul Anka is a great writer of songs, no one could sing them like Frank! no one ever will! What a beautiful dedication to the greatest ever. by the way, Mr Anka wrote" MY WAY"

  • I LOVE YOU MORE THEN WORDS CAN SAY

  • hes not even singing . hes just saying the words really quickly!

  • Another great.

  • respect for him!!!!

  • come si fa a pubblicare certi video?

  • love paul, his daughter Anthea's got a great new little blog, was lookin' at it just now pretty cool, check it out here: antheaanka (dot) com

  • @tishytishy123 i know that Paul Anka wrote 'My way' but i like more Frank Sinatra version , though both are good and we should apreciate Paul because he wrote it and we can delight with such a classic beautiful song.

  • @Alex1Basa Paul Anka didn't write my way alone, he put new english lyrics to an already famous french song.

  • @roquecloclo : you are perfectly right. There wqas always a great dispute about that song. Fact is, this song was written and composed by Claude François, under the name: "comme d'habitude" ("as always"); then newly written in english by Paul Anka, dedicated to "Franky Boy" Sinatra. That's the way it is........

  • Impossible. Frank wasnt perfect.. Elvis was perfect for ever

  • Hey folks take a look in my video singing My way watch?v=0jOBwF8WC0A

    Thanks

  • Paul Anka wrote this lovely song and many others. What a legend and class act.

  • @renecrod3 No he didn't, without 'Comme d'habitude no My Way.

  • one of my father's fave song and singer.

  • total class act

  • GRANDIOSO, PAUL, INIGUALABLE.

  • PURA ELEGANCIA

  • paul is great

  • Uma interpretação com a alma.

    Um estilo próprio de cantar.

    Muito bom!

  • @blind51d. No doubt Paul wrote an amazing song, but opinions clearly differ as to who sang it better and in mine Elvis' version tops the lot.

  • @pat13wx I Strongly agree! Elvis´s version is unbeatable all the ways...

  • @ElvisBrBc Yes Elvis version is good, but was Frank Sinatra who gave fame to this song... I am a great fan of Elvis, but God, this song is part of Sinatra... it is like It`s Now or Never, nobody can do it like Elvis...

  • @Cordeiro757 It´s a matter of fact, Sinatra gave his signature to this song, we´ll always remember him, but to be sincere i don´t like Sinatra as a performer, of course he´s a great singer but not a performe as Elvis use to be. It´s my opinion, and i respect and understand yours. God bless you!!!

  • questa interpretazione fa proprio pena, scusate ma ho sentito di meglio.... senza far paragoni..... mooooolto meglio

Buona visione a chi riesce a guardarlo sino alla fine, gustibusss.

  • he is more great than elvis realy even i am ETA because he is more lonley i like it????????????????

  • Oh, Lord, this song... Anka, thank you for this lyrics, thank you for the song... but, SINATRA, many many thank yous for singing this song. No one could sing it like you done.

  • one of my all time favorites. the one and only Paul Anka. thanks for posting.

  • If you get to Vegas and don't see Paul Anka in concert: you are missing out.

He sings one hit after another and he wrote sooo many!

  • I just got back from Vegas and I saw the Showgirls. That's some damn classy Vegas entertainment. I loved it.

  • Yeah, he has written 900 songs! how many of those who are hits I dont know, but many. This guy is a legend and he knows good music! :)

  • Ultimately it comes down to a matter of opinion and in my opinion Elvis Presley's live performance of this song remains the best ever. Sure, Frank did a fine job but Elvis' version encapsulates everything during his live performance - - his studio version wasn't as good in my view but on the stage, where it really mattered, Elvis cannot be compared. He was and still is the King!

I enjoyed Paul's version, but in all honesty it can't be taken seriously. IMHO.

  • When i heard Elvis' version i cried.

    Elvis was God imself.

  • @pat13wx It's Paul's song. Get real.

  • @pat13wx didnt he write the song? How can you not take it seriously? I bet u thought elvis wrote the song lmao

  • this song , only Frank Sinatra can sing it the best!!!!

  • So beautiful, so touching! Thank you for sharing.

  • A beautiful song.

  • Well, i'm french and must say Claude François did it well with that beautifull song. Elvis, Sinatra, Paul Anka and so many others song it with brio, course of one thing , that song was a splendid writing and composition, that's a priority for an artist and his interpretation!

  • Yes, Claude François version (original) is tha shit!!

  • @mynsweet6 I am his biggest fan, i'm not French, British.

  • @roquecloclo neither is he: Paul Anka is Syrian through and through!

  • @saifi71 Paul Anka is Canadian with a LEBANESE background. You're not even close on the Syrian thing

  • @Jozzie1987 With all respect, Jozzie, you're simply not correct. I'm Lebanese myself and would love to claim PA as a Lebanese. But he simply ISN'T! He is a Canadian of Syrian ancestry. Khallisna, halla!

  • @saifi71 He is of Lebanese descent. As per his official website, wikipedia, and imdb. Where did you find the information about him being Syrian?

  • Ftrank has a great performance!

  • This was actually a French song called Comme d'habitude sung by Claude François. Paul wrote the English lyrics for Frank which are not a translation of the French, but completely different. BTW Robbie Williams does an excellent job of singing this song. I cry every time I watch the video. And i love Julio Iglesias and Paul singing this together. It's called A Mi Manera.

  • Yes this is Franks song and he sung it the best ,I dont think Elvis sung it with the intent to top it but to do his version , it was Franks song I'm sure if Frank had sung suspicious minds he would not sing it as good as Elvis, no one could.

  • good for the aching heart. deserves for a one thousand clap and be always remembered (rosegumay2006)

  • very therapeutic and healing song to a sickly heart

  • sa pilipinas marami ng namatay dyan sa kantang yan

  • This sone was writtin by Paul Anka FOR Frank Sinatra....specifically...there have been a lot of versions. Sinatra's perfect voice made this song so big. Elvis had a good version also, but im sorry. not as good as the Chairman.

  • @speedave00 When will people get this right, Anka didn't write the song, it was French song 'Comme d'habitude, co written by Claude Francois, Jacques Revaux and Gilles Thibaut, Anka heard the song bought the rights, and wrote new lyrics to it, and frankly in my opinion ripped the composers off. will people get this right,

  • @roquecloclo I AM fully aware of this...Paul took the mealody and WROTE new lyrics for Sinatra...Sinatra sings PAULS version of this song...NOT the French version. Those are Pauls lyrics Sinatra sings. All I said in my post was, Paul wrote this for Sinatra....he did write the lyrics.

  • @speedave00 ...yes..that's true..

  • @roquecloclo ....This is so correct...keep on telling them all till they stop changing the history of the world....keep BS off You Tube

  • @roquecloclo paul anka wrote this song..and by the time he is making this song he already had in mind that frank sinatra will sing this song..in short he wrote this song frank sinatra......

  • @roquecloclo - Paul said they the music publishers sold him the rights for next to nothing cos the song had not been a big hit in France.

  • He said he liked Sids' version the best. And don't doubt it cos he said it.

  • elvis la cantó mejor

  • Paul wrote this song and I am sure that he had Sinatra in mind when he wrote it.

  • @spicole As I said Anka didn't write the song, it was French song 'Comme d'habitude, co written by Claude Francois, Jacques Revaux and Gilles Thibaut, Anka heard the song bought the rights, and wrote new lyrics to it, and frankly in my opinion ripped the composers off.

  • @roquecloclo //Paul Anka wrote this song, and by the time he is making this, he had already on his mind that Frank Sinatra will sing it..In short he did this song for Frank Sinatra

  • A classic song that gets better with time.

    I love it.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • pure wine :)

  • No one is like Frank Sinatra ... .thys is good too but Frank was perfect

  • @Alex1Basa Paul wrote this song though ;-)

  • @tishytishy123 Anka didn't write the song, it was French song 'Comme d'habitude, co written by Claude Francois, Jacques Revaux and Gilles Thibaut, Anka heard the song bought the rights, and wrote new lyrics to it, and frankly in my opinion ripped the composers off.

  • @roquecloclo ...YOU SOOOO RIGHT....THIS IS A ....CLAUDE FRANCOIS .. SONG...

  • Comment removed

  • @roquecloclo thanks for this lesson! Always thought Paul Anka wrote this song ;)

  • La cancion My Way, si fue escrita por Paul Anca, sobre la musica de la canción comme d´habitude, que habla de una pareja en monotonia, la cual no tiene nada que ver con My Way, canción que hizo famosa Frank Sinatra.

  • @Alex1Basa No one's perfect. He just sang well.

  • @Alex1Basa Keep in mind that Paul Anka wrote the song (commissioned) with Frank Sinatra in mind. Sinatra was 55 when he produced the "September of My Years" album and thought his career (and life) were at an end. It's hard to write about someone else's experiences, especially for someone so young as Anka was at the time. Given all that, he really did a masterful job.

  • @Alex1Basa - dont forget he is the one that wrote the song for Frank.

  • Yeah, but Anka wrote the song

  • @Alex1Basa Paul Anka wrote the song for Frank Sinatra.

  • @Alex1Basa ..he may sing his own song..

  • @Alex1Basa yes, no one can compare to the great Sinatra, but Paul Anka is the who WROTE THIS SONG. so without him Sinatra wouldnt have done this song.

  • @Alex1Basa ya but Anka wrote this for Frank, so u gotta give him props for that.

  • GRACIAS PAUL

  • he true did a wonderful song, but only the king elvis presley sang it perfectly!

  • ahahah

  • I'm agree with you!

  • Maybe i prefer piano and violin versions.

  • He did write a beautiful song but Engelbert sings it better than anyone .

  • loooooooooooool

  • he wrote it.

but elvis did it the best

  • Yeah!!!!!

  • superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr het is ook jou nummer

  • It'd be cool if around 1969, Frank and Paul did it together on a T.V. show or something. I wonder who would out-sing who? Hmmm... let's think for a while. ;)

  • A talented man indeed...

  • Paul is a great writer, but He has to leave the singing to singers! Like Elvis, for One!

  • you are out of your mind Paul sang his songs better because he put his own feelings and emotions in them and he has an amazing voice

  • Yea but only the orginal singer can sing it with the true intentions and play with it properly. Unless the whole song didn't come from him.

  • The man is a leyend. What else can we say?

  • elvis sings it BETTER Way BETTER WAY BETTER WAY BETTER

  • true but Paul Anka wrote the song :P

  • writing it doesn't mean you can sing it. ;)

A lot of songwriters can't sing. That was the devil's advocate part of me. Now to the matter at hand. Paul's good, I'm not saying he can't sing. But I do prefer Elvis' version of the song. And I agree with Jezake up there ^^ in that Paul's not hungry anymore, and it's that hunger that makes true talent come alive.

  • And this is the most important of all

  • Anka did not write the song. Claude Francois wrote it. Anka wrote the lyrics.

  • yes but he mostly rewrote it. it's like saying Jonathan Larson didn't write Rent because it's based on La Boheme. He's still the writer.

  • Was a French song, very badly sung by a French bad singer, Paul made of it one of the well known song in the world

  • Paul thank you for this song, may way is the best of the best.

  • unique

  • STILL, at a very ripe old age, this WONDERFUL Canadian singer continues live performances, and shows that he's STILL GOT IT!!!!!

    Mr. Anka, you ROCK!

  • I was fortunate enough to see Mr. Anka live a couple of years ago. It was the greatest experience I've had at a concert. (I'm 19, so I've had little opportunity to see the truly great singers. What I'd give to see Sinatra. . .)

  • me hacer recordar cuando trabajaba en el bertolotto en San Miguel.....ta que como pasa el tiempo........

  • Húha!:)))

    Egyszerűen gyönyörű!:)))

  • Verjaard vandaag,geweldige zanger

  • lindo!!!
