  • i wish keith and john could have seen them now, especially keith

  • Legends

  • gosh - these guys still rock the world!

  • There are way too many people here who don't realize WHO they're talking about. :)

  • I feel so sad that Keith Moon (drums) and John Entwhistle (bass) couldn't be there with them :(

  • These clueless press people don't even realize how fucking lucky they are to hear these two British Legends perform. That doesn't go for thje small crowd that was cheering enthusiatically.

  • This is better than their performance at the actual halftime!

  • @guesser7 Prepare for a flame war.

  • The WHO are RUBBISH

  • @guesser7 you obviusly listen to shit music, the who are the gratest band to ever walk the face of this planet. when they had kith and john the were the best better than any modern band.

  • @guesser7 You are clueless! Name your favorite band and I'll prove The Who influenced them in one way or another. There will never be a more revolutionary band then The Who.

  • @guesser7 no ONE really CARES

  • this is why it makes no sense that some people say that roger lip synced at the super bowl. why would he do that if he sounded great here????? He DIDNT!!!

  • Why do people say that Roger can't sing?? sure just cause he can't scream like a wild maniac anymore, but that doesn't mean he can't sing! if you thought the half time show suck then either 1. clean your ears, 2. get your ears checked, finally 3.turn on the hearing aid!!!Listen to the greatest thing to happen in music's history!!!

    LONG LIVE ROCK(and The Who)

    ~!~Yammy~!~

  • Take notice record producers that sees this! THIS is the music we want with artists tha can play their own instruments and write their own songs that ACTUALLY means something! NO fucking lady ga ga and over produced poser shit! This is and always be REAL MUSIC! GET IT!?

  • Anyone else that was secretly fearing they'd collapse and die?

    Thank god they didn't.

    The Who rocks.

  • the guitar is a gibson j200

  • When I fist saw this I thought they would do an acoustic set at the superbowl. Thank God they didn't.

  • They can still rock at almost 70

  • is this a western guitar =?

  • Probably the best guitarist in ther world and they can still do it.

  • I think Pete is in a place where he can actually enjoy playing these songs rather than being angry all the time. An acoustic tour would be perfect, just the two of them. They don't need to make excuses for how they look, sing, sound, etc. The songs and the sincerity and integrity that went into their creation speak for themselves.

  • Wow...I wish they'd do an acoustic tour.

  • wow, i have a very similar guitar style to peat. i can't play with a pick, but i do have that same percussive playing he has. no wonder it was so easy for me to learn to play several Who songs in like ten minutes.

hes got an awesome guitar style, and roger daltry still can sing at his old age!! 5 stars!!

  • @netterstyl

I disagree, this performance was in the best tradition of the old blues. Roger still has a great blues style voice as long as he sticks to his lower register.

I don't pretend that the final remaining members at age 66 will replicate their younger wild selves, those days ended with Keith Moon and middle age.

What's left is nostalgic renditions of their classics but still with heart and passion. I can these guys sing and play forever. I like this stripped down version.

  • Such beautiful playing by Pete here. I always laugh when a few people say he can't play.

So unique with his spanish flamenco style.

Love to see these two on an acoustic tour.

  • 2:40 sick guitar playing!!

  • obviously, its pete townshend

  • Hey folks,,,, in an OPEN forum, playing acoustic songs that are being played in front of a silent audience is not easy. For the moron that thinks this is easy? Pete Townshend invented rock power chords, he is the king of guitar rythem and an idle of many of today's players. YOU are a moron, i would take pete's guitar and jam it down your throat.

  • @wrsawy1

    you said it.

  • @ThePeachey81 lol yeah give him 2-3 million dollars and he may be a big hit....

Anyone can learn a song .... not very hard to do.... No one will ever replicate his voice that parts for certain.....

  • I've been trying to play this on my accoustic now for 3 hours since first watching this, and take it from me it aint easy. Brilliant playing Mr. Townshend.

  • bruce springteen sucks! the who might smash your freakin mouth if dont shut up! lmao.british rules motherfucker!!

  • @kewlpnay126 What about Aerosmith or Hendrix?

  • Do you know anything about why the following verse was left out of "Won't Get Fooled Again" during the Super Bowl performance?

"The change, it had to come

    We knew it all along

We were liberated from the fold, that's all

And the world looks just the same

    And history ain't changed

'Cause the banners, they are flown in the next war"

The boys didn't leave it out during this press conference accustic performance. Just curious.

  • @BetterQuestions they had to compact their set to fit into the time allotted . therefore some lyrics and some instrumentals from all the songs were shortened.

  • @BetterQuestions This press conference performance didn't have a 12 minute time limit while performing 4 other songs.

  • Sorry starkey, god damn fucking iPhone

  • It was never going to be classic who but I thought their performance was decent enough. Starley though is as bad ad his dad on the drums.

  • I really enjoyed watching and listening to Pete's energetic solo strumming of the chords on acoustic and being able to hear them stand out in that manner with nothing else going on. The flamenco-style passages are great.

Other than that, this is pretty much a strained holler-fest by two guys whose voices were shot years ago relative to attempting this song in this key.

~From a longtime Who fan (*love* the stuff from "The Who Sell Out" and "A Quick One") - but not a tone deaf sheep.

  • what a cock!

  • GET A LIFE

  • I hope I'm in as great of shape when I'm there age!

  • this song was chosen to be played for a hidden reason...can anybody figure out why...... WE Wont be fooled again!

  • I love these guys. I thought their performance was great. No one should ever say a bad thing about The Who.. especially when today's music has gone to straight crap. -(A 21 year old Who lover :))

  • I figure If people still pay, and they like to play, Then shut the hell up. Roger looks great for 66 or whatever he is now, and he looks that way because he does what he loves best...perform. It's sad to see great rockers age, but we all eat, shit, and die, so relax.

  • Great! I just needed this after the last firework-circus!

  • this is much better then the super bowl half time show. its a shame they had technical difficulties

  • FYI, Pete and Roger have never really done this song this way. It was always pete singing this alone with his acoustic or with the whole band. The way this sounds, it should be put on an album...or radio. Very Unique way to play this number...fantastic....

  • Wow, great duo....And the song works this way very well.

The Who Changed Rock Forever....Don't fuck with 'em.

They'll school ya and show you what you'll never be.

  • me gusta esa cancion mucho en mi pais nos creen hacer tontos los malditos politicos pero

cayo el regimen ya caeran ellos por alta traicion

    ont get a fooled again

  • epic louisiana

  • Apparently HarryPalma is a Jane's Addiction fan. The Who have more talent in their pubic hair than Jane's Addiction have in their entire washed up sissy bodies. RIP LOON & OX!

  • I really appreciate Townsend's articulate strumming.

  • Have you met my Facebook friend Jesus Christ?

  • Thanks for the GREAT vid sounds and looks good ! THE TWO WHO Sound great

  • Wow. This was kind of cooler than the actual 1/2 time show. I like hearing exactly what Townsend is playing and I think it's easier for him to hear himself in this environement so he can harmonize easier. Happy to hear this. Thanks for posting.

  • Pseudonym is the correct word I should have used as Pointed out to me by Everypenny thanks To many beers during the game LOL

  • Harry Palma is obviously an acronym cause he plays with himself ...to much....cause he probably is young and nothing better to do . But One day maybe (if he;s not shot by some gang member) ,he will see and feel Music

  • Acronym?

  • dickhead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That was the best SB performance ever!

  • Townshend has never let me down. Daltrey sounds as good as ever - I love you guys!! Way to go WHO!!

  • Fuck Off!! you people have no taste in music if you think that band has any talent or has inspired any bands!! Get A Life!!

  • HarryPalms listens to Lady Ga Ga

  • you obviously don't know two shits on rock history....or rock for that matter, get off troll and listen to the jonas brothers or lady gaga

  • @HarryPalma if you think any of us care what you think, you are retarded! quit trying to spread your useless opinion and get a life!

  • hey harry palme get a fucking clue shit head!!!!!! every person you said should play the superbowl sucks ass much like yourself. SEE REAL MUSICIANS WRITE AND PLAY THEIR MUSIC, JUST TO BAD NO ONE WORTH A SHIT LIKE YOURSELF CAN THESE DAYS!!!!!! LONG LIVE THE WHO!!!!!!

  • Thank You GRUMPYGRUNTS

  • OMFG!! Did u see these GEEZERS gasping for air on stage!! they probably had to have oxygen in the locker room after that Pathetic SB display!! That Was Disgusting!!

  • @HarryPalma please go die

  • second that

  • hey, anybody would be gasping for air after all that energy it takes to put on an AWESOME show like that. when you get into the music like that it takes your breath away

  • you obviously have no clue WHO your talkin about. The Who paved the road for most bands out there today. you dumb mother fucker. go get some class.

  • @HarryPalma, The Who are the only reason I wanted to see this year's superbowl.

And to everyone else who is flaming him (trust me, I want to do the same,) but He's only doing this for attention. Just ignore 'em and enjoy this spectacular performance! I'm 17 years old, and I only listen to the Oldies. 50's through the 70's. I wish I was able to live that era...

  • well Done Jons

  • I'm 37 and considered a young Who fan. Keep the spirit alive bro!

  • 1 day you will be the Geezer and will have NOTHING to show for it!!!

  • Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • who won the super bowl

  • saints

  • Best half time show i have ever seen, amazing!!

  • I wonder if they did won't get fooled again because it was in miami and that is the theme song to CSI miami

  • Im glad to see them, makes me think about how great RD looked in the late 70's and 80's I tip my hat to them

  • they were at the super bowl like 10 minutes ago. that performance was epic and they were amazing. especially for their age and after so many years appart this was a great come back!!!

  • Was hoping Roger would drop the F-bomb during Who Are You.

  • they were amazin

  • Comment removed

  • NO, IT WAS AMAZING. Did you hear Roger's yell?!?!? DID YOU?!?!?!?

  • yeah Roger yelled, with the help of today's technology (computerizied digital tape). the light'n show, was the best that i have ever seen. but there performance, was freak'n awful. saw them in philly during their 25th reunion. royal albert hall, tribute to nyc were great, but after entswistle passed away, they suck!

  • I'm watching them play at the super bowl right now

  • they were amazing

  • you know. i dont care about lil wayne or his entire life all i care about is the who. because they were the first punks to ever produce straigh original rock and rock. there will never be anybody like moon the loon or even the best bass player ever. so if all u hipocrites want to listen to music that don't get u anywhere that fin with me. oh by the way i work in a 2nd hand store and all i see is rap and r&b music that nobody want anymore, so they just give it away. thats called garbage.

  • hoy veremos a estos cabrones q siguen siendo unos cabrones la neta wey chido the who

  • Im sick of all these Old Geezers performing at the SB every year.tom petty, springsteen etc. ...lady gaga, justin bieber, lil wayne,jay-z should be playing. This Is Bullshit!! that guy that looks like Nicholas Cage that plays guitar in the who is a Child Molester anyway!!

  • You do realize The Who are better then any of the artists you just mentioned right? And pete townsend is not a child molester he was never convicted of anything so get your facts straight you little twat

  • fuck you, you don't know what real music is, fucking brittney

  • @HarryPalma FUCK YOU FUCKING TWAT THis is REAL BLOODY FUCKING MUSIC. lady gaga lil wayne isnt even music. THat stuff is FUCKING RUBBISH. Justin Bieber is a WANKER twelve year old. Whom has no talent all the names you suggested all suck major COCK. SO do me a favor fucker take all that lame excuse as music and shove it up ypur arse. THE WHO > lady gaga, justin bieber, lil wayne,jay-z :)

  • That is Pete Townsend and he has more talent in that little bit of hair that he has left than all of those "artists" you listed. You need to learn to respect real musicians.

  • learn to appreciate real musicians. justin biber, lady gaga, & lil wayne won't get famous at all compared to The Who!! listen to this song unplugged & with the full band. Its awesome, where do u think all those lame musicians got their influences from? old classic rock bands like the Who

  • @HarryPalma If you want attention pour some gasoline on yourself and light a match then run down your street.

  • Why arnt they playing infront of a massive audience like the rolling stones did

  • @EVERYONE - Nobody Cares Aboit the Who in the USA!!

  • bring in the Rolling stones!! wtf

  • wheres the drummer

  • cant wait to hear the who at the super bowl. They deserve this more than any other super bowl act that has ever played. I hope they keep it this way and keep playing rock music at the super bowl and not go to pop. Im hoping for the eagles

  • THE WHO ARE PERFECT 4 the halftime show! i <3 pete and roger(wish j+k were here) and yes,i'm fking 13 yrs old

  • justin beiber no, jay z sure.

  • This is the most ridiculous comment i've ever read. You must be thick or something. By the way the who are one of the greatest and most influential bands ever. I think there amazing and i'm 15. They may be old now but the songs were written when they were young. They have changed the face of Rock music. Justin Bieber or Jay-Z have done virtually nothing compared to these legends. I suggest you keep your mouth shut before any more rubbish comes out.

  • @HarryPalma who are these old geezers?? WTF is wrong with YOU. These guys revolutionized Rock N' Roll, what did Justin Bieber and Jay-Z do? Absolutely nothing. The reason people listen to Jay-Z is because they want to act all cool and "gangster". And 100% of people who listen to Justin Bieber are girls and gay guys.

  • @HarryPalma

    Wow. Justin Bieber? Jay-Z?

    Way to fail.

  • @HarryPalma Moron

  • @HarryPalma lol justin beiber? c'mon he is a new artist who no one cares about haha the who are a legend like stones

  • "Won't Get Fooled Again" is undoubtedly one of the top 10 rock and roll anthems of all time. Many people think it refers to President NIxon, and the hope that voters won't get fooled again by a another slick politician. But I guess that keeps on happening, right? Oh well; great song!

  • this is just an attempt by the NFL to add viewers in England.. they wanna play games over so bad and possibly move a team there someday..what better way to do that than have possibly the greatest british rock band play the half time show....i got em figured out... i personally would prefer Iron Maiden...UP THE IRONS from Ohio!!

  • @Xnothinbetter2dewX

Dude, Maiden doing a halftime show would be EPIC! Still, I think The Who are great.

  • They still got it!

  • Still great, WHEREVER they are!

  • This is acoustic, a press conference, with no backup band, no audiance. Wait til you hear the real thing. I saw Rog live this fall...fantastic, amazing. Suggestion...watch the Amazing Journey (DVD). All things change, but these are still brilliant musicians. It will be a terrific half-time.

  • music is arguably a very personal subject to all. so why is it sad in your eyes Kidvlogger that you think 1/3 wont know who The Who is? your not the only kid out there who listens to classic rock, most children are raised with what their parents listen to and the shit being made by the new pop artists. good for you if you dont listen to gay emo songs, but dont refer to our music culture as unheard of or unknown. football is not aimed for kiddies, are you offended by beer commercials as well?

  • It is sad that probably 1/3 of the people watching Super Bowl XLIV this Sunday won't know who the hell The Who is and will probably only be saying "OMFGeez! Dis is the CSI theme song!!! DOOY!!!". They won't be able to appreciate the performance, I am glad I am 14 and I listen to classic rock. Thank my parents!

  • @KidVlogger317 these comments like that the reason why i hate ppl like you. do me a favor, shut your mouth and listen to the used, like a good 14-year-old

  • Excuse me? Just because I am a 14 year old in the 21st Century I have to listen to a whiney band that sings gay emo songs?

  • ugh...age has caught up with my WHO...Roger's voice has lost its range; Pete can barely stand. So sad. They were great, now it's much too late. I feel halftime will be a farce; and we all will be fooled again.

  • Music is such a personal experience that it is not worth it to say what someone else feels is not valid. I'll just say that I agree with you-age has caught up with my Who as well, Roger's voice has lost its range, and they were great. BUT this performance had a power and nuance that moved me. They have aged, and they are different, but for me, still great. Best wishes mercerville1111 - if it doesn't work for you....listen to Live at Leeds and raise one for me! Cheers!

  • vinechuck I like your outlook. Hey, I will be hoping as much as anyone that they pull it off tomorrow. Maybe they will capture some magic (bus?) for 11 minutes. They sure did in the 9/11 concert and they were pretty old then. I guess watching my longtime rockers (who once wrote "hope I die before I get old") age along with myself is not easy. The energy they had in their prime was so amazing. Having said all that, I will raise one for you and all of us.

  • anyone who doubts this band's power and strength should investigate there past, properly.

  • Exactly! They can still blow people away with ease!!

  • wow
