  • Thank you for these great videos. You are a very talented and knowledgeable guitar teacher!

  • loud and clear.very effective method thanks.

  • So I changed my strings this way and now I ended up with fret buzz =/ Any suggestions???

  • @Genera1Smok3 It hasn't been the changin but the gauge you mounted which is most probably different then the older one (or another bradn of same gauge strings which has a different tension). did you mount a lighter gauge? Check out the truss rod you probably has to release it a bit.

  • I've reached this conclusion after I have tried to mount the whammy bar and move it so as to create that tremolo effect, but the whammy bar wouldn't move so I stopped for fear not to damage anything.

Anyway, I need to restring my guitar and I was wondering what I should do - is it ok to use the sae method you've shown in this video? (except for the higher strings, which would probably have to be mounted just like the thicker strings, I suppose)...

Could you please help me? :)

  • @mikeKIdLazy If you mean to use the tremolo see my video how to "How to keep your Strat tremolo in tune". if you don't mean to use the tremolo see the other video where I string and tune with the LP guitar

  • Hello, Mr. Frudua, and thank you for these great tutorials! However, I've got a question: in this video, you show how to tune a "Gibson style" guitar with that kind of headstock. What about a Squier Bullet Strat, which has a different headstock (by the way, I have a bridge that allows for tremolo use, but I've never used it and it seems it can't even be used, since the bridge is screwed tight into the body, so I guess it's... fixed?).

  • hmm, I don't understand I thought if we mount we do not have to do any wraps ?

  • @coolmega33 just a few as shown.

  • @coolmega33 its only one wrap once tuning it will fall in place

  • Thank you so much for posting this video! I think it's one of the best tutorials and the easiest to follow, in my opinion.

  • anyone else heard the clock ? :P

  • following your method, each string only goes around 1 time ..... :s

  • Thanks. I have a new guitar giving me tuning trouble. After playing guitar for 25 years you have taught me a better way to string my guitars.

  • Mr. Frudua, Do you recommend removing and replacing the strings one at a time, to keep the neck under tension?

    OR;

Is it totally okay to remove every string first, and then begin replacing them?

(I think this is the least healthy way for the guitar)

I would like to hear your opinion on this.. as you did not mention in this video

    Thanks,

    P in FL

  • @perryinjax I recommend cahnging the strings one at a time and retuning each time each string. If this not possible for some reason just put the guitar on the table with a support under the first frets and it will be ok.

  • @FruduaTv Thanks for your time Mr, Frudua.. that i what I was always taught.. just wanted to check w/you because in my opinion you are the ultimate guitar authority :-)

Every fourth time, I do change them all at once, to give the neck and pickups a good cleaning with no strings in the way, but always making sure to support the neck as you advise, but I prefer to change them one at a time as much as possible, unless it really needs a cleaning in the hard to reach places.

    Thanks again!

  • Thank you for your ver informative vids. Very often I hear complaints about tuning instability. People always blame the guitar, or the trem, or the tuners, or strings, etc. but they never blame the way they string the guitar. Most people don't string them right nor stretch them and never set them in their natural position. Thats how I guage who knows what they're doing and who doesn't. Your vids are great and an must see for anyone who owns a guitar.

  • I wonder, can I use this method of yours with a guitar that already has locking tuners?

That would make it super-steady wouldnt it?

    Thank you very much again!

  • @fuzzysound IF you have locking tuners and you use them correctly you don't mind this video.

  • @NoodleTheSlayer Glad about this!

  • You are really good at explaining, very nice-made videos, good job, really it helps a lot!

  • Thanks man, ur lesson is the shit. The other expert village crap didnt help me at all. Thumbs up and favorited!

  • funny accent but the best lesson on this i could find on youtube

    i repeat

best lesson on this i could find on youtube

  • How to remove rust from the bridge?

  • @tobby182 mmhh no way... you should replace it or re chrome it.

  • I don't think I've ever re-strung my guitar better - THANK YOU :)

  • Hi Galeazzo, on your other videos, you showed to restring E,A,D ( videos on How to set up your stat for better tremolo use) to wrap over the tuner holes ? so which is better?

  • @larzvegas89122 If you have a strat on which you mean to use the tremolo THAT video is ok. If you have a LP style guitar with ANGLED headstock just follow this video procedure.

  • Thanks

  • rly great hints! they work perfectly.

but when applying your technique to the b and high e strings it gets quite difficult to handle cuz the bent string slips away. got any extra tips?

or maybe i just have to practise a bit more :D

  • @PogPogo Yes Pog just practice a bit more and you will find it very easy to do.

  • @FruduaTv

i got it now, works perfectly and very reliable!

  • can i use this with an acoustic guitar?

  • @du95 Yes Sir!

  • 2 people didn't ask themselves how many wraps around the post.

  • who the fucking hell would dislike this? i bet youtube just puts it on

  • "a string wiener"

  • thanks a lot, a very clear and pleasant lesson. You are an accomplished teacher as well as a liutist.

  • Thx for taking the time...Much appreciated

  • Thanks.

  • thanks alot buddy!

  • Can I use this technique with real Gotoh style locking tuners?

  • @forjacob Hi you do not need to do this if you have locking tuners. Just do the minimum of turns areound the post possible.

  • Can I use this technique with real Gotoh style locking tuners?

  • You Sir are a genious.

  • didnt do it perfect but it worked

  • great video. Thanks!

I'll try this next time I change my strings....One thing that I'm still confused about - the number of wraps on the post depends on the gap you leave.....

  • @przecpany Yes., the videos makes some suggestions in this direction.

..o no?

  • @kirschak1 Se la avvolgi in questo modo in pratica creai una specie di nodo che, una volta stretchata, fissa la corda perfettamente

  • nice looking guitar

  • @aneyekay1 see tuscanyguitarsdotcom thx

  • "Yes" to using this only on a fixed bridge? Or "Yes" to using the string wrapping on the gear post for both style of guitars?

Thank you Frudua, and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours!

    ~Kevin~

  • Yes you can use the same wrappings also on a strat tremolo equipped guitar but be sure it is well setup for the tremolo use.

  • Mr. Frudua, thank you for this video. One question sir, should the strings be wrapped around the tuning post in this same way on a standard strat with a standard strat style tremolo? Thank you,

    ~Kevin~

  • I forgot to ask, is this wrapping on the gear post only to be done on a FIXED bridge?

  • Unclearness, you should do this on every kind of guitar

  • Yes Sir!

  • Thank you very much for the great videos - you helped me a lot with my Fender tremolo!

  • Comment removed

  • good video BUT that is not 'the ultimate frudua way'... and you are doing it wrong. If you really want to make the tuner work like a locking one you cant have those wraps around the pole... because more string there equals to more time it wil take to settle and maintain tuning stability!

  • : ) What makes the string behave like locking tuners in this video is not the higher or lower number of wrappings (less is better) but the way the string is knot around the post and MOST OF ALL the way you tune your guitar (please see related videos) :)

  • thats crazy i was always told that you're supposed to have 3 wraps on the low strings and it increases on the higher. always learning something new from your videos frudua, keep it up!

  • Very well explained and informative, I wish I had this knowledge 15 years ago, but better late than never.... Thank you

  • Thank You, Thank You!

  • Dude!!!! Thank you so much for this video!

  • The most highly anticipated video on youtube!! You are a genius my man.
