WELL DONE! This was the best looking original serious star trek short I've seen. I enjoyed the nacelle blowing off even though it probably would have needed to sustain more damage before it would detach.

GREAT job on the ships, they looked spectacular. Awesome Battle scenes. Nice Pan on the transporter scene. It was a good shot.

Some of the star trek consistencies we're off about ship strengths and the intro was too long but all things considered, it's great.

"Five five two mark one" does not exist in the navigational system of a starship. The highest bearing a man could give would be "three five nine mark five nije" ;) Although fictional Star Trek does have a lot of real tecnical background behind it ;) For effort this video gets 5/5 but since I am a hard core Trekkie I can't forgive inaccuracies and a bit of "lets just get done with the job" feeling I get while watching this video. Therefore 4/5 from me.

That was just stupid. Let me point out why:

1) A Klingon bird-of-prey, even one contemporaneous to the Galaxy-class ship shown here, is not in the same leauge as a Galaxy-class vessel. A Galaxy-class ship outguns her six ways from Sunday, and twice on Monday.

2) The moment the captain ordered red alert, the shields would have been raised. Or they should have been, anyways. How that first Klingon volley impacted the Galaxy's hull and not the ship's shields is beyond me.

The only way the bird of prey would have had such effect on the challenger is with its shields down. They were caught by surprise though. Still the Galaxy class starship far mower powerful than the bird of prey.

I think we're also forgetting the timeframe when this was done. 2001.

Technology was a lot different 7 years ago. So were the folks used in the series (the sheer concept of voice acting via the Internet was a new phenomenon).

At least three of the folks here have gone on to do major voiceover work. We all sucked starting out. =-)

BTW: Remember when the description of the clips stated that it's "amusingly trek'ish and amateur" then that's what you're going to get.

It was like watching the shitty battle between Enterprise-D and the old Klingon BoP from the Generations movie.

Why send a Galaxy battleship on this assignment? Are there no survey ships or Runabouts? The voice acting was poor at best, there were spelling errors in the captions and grammer errors. The models were of poor quality even considering the time of this things creation, especially the BoP. The music was ripped and didn't fit the scenes well and wasn't cut together well. The BoP seemed to fire torps from its disruptors and the sheild generator is on top of the center impulse unit. Awful crap.

Well, its an odd story. The person who headed this project ended up doing more live action directing. As for the talent, one of them began the VAA, which is one of the largest boards for voice acting (amateur voice acting in particular) on the 'net. I ended up going to pro route and continue to do so. I have no clue what happened to the rest of the cast.
