One of the few men ever to beat Rafa on Clay. And probably the last. Here he is so overjoyed its almost sad to remember what happened soon after at RR. Here he still thought he had a chance.
listen asshole, you have no right to talk so badly about a great champ like Roger. Fuck yourself you prick, you disgust me and all TRUE tennis fans in this world!
What!? This win showed Roger that he could beat Nadal on his best surface, clay. This win meant a hell of a lot. If you can prove what you've said then fair enough, but I can't see how it meant nothing
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Okay it meant something to Roger, meant fuck all to Nadal since he got revenge in the French Open 2007 final. Roger does not beat him on clay when it really matters. This winshowed that Roger can beat Nadal on his best surface? If that is the case then why hasn't he beaten him on clay since? Now just sit back and pop in the 2008 French Open final, that is Rogers limits against Nadal on clay. That was a schooling that King Rafa gave him. Roger looked like a lost little boy.
Newsflash: Federer has just got fucked again at the masters by a nobody. How the mighty have fallen. lol. Big thanks to nadal for completely fucking roger that he too scared to play anybody. lol. fuck off to switzerland B4 you start embarrassing yourself even more. Fucking spineless piece of shit
Rafa himself keeps saying that Roger is the best in "the" history (sic). Rafa has apologized every time he has taken the FO title away form Roger. Here Roger said "maybe he was tired and I took advantage of it". To win as much as these two players do, you MUST have self-confidence, so the fact that both are so polite to their main rival is commendable: Two gentlemen and two of the greatest players ever! And now back again together in the final!
ive got the feeling that federer is really just concentrating on winning the french. maybe thats a reason for his slump recently along with mono during the aussie open where he was sweating alot. i think federer wants to peak at the french and not at the hard courts like years before!
Did you want him to say? "Oh...I played so-so...I'm not that proud of myself...I haven't achieved much, really. All these years of hard work and I'm just pretty average..."
Let the guy be proud of himself. Roger has earned it and he has a very healthy amount of confidence. He never says a bad word against another player.
Roger was great but I'd say Nadal was simply exhausted after back-to-back tournament victories. Prob played this tourney to lessen the gap between him and Fed pointwise. But full credit to Roger for taking the opportunity after a rather poor season (for his standards), I really thought he was done after the 1st set.
I agree, he is speaking hypothetically about someone who has never made the final os US or Australian open. Three major titles against twelve, you do the math genius!!
naeempate 107 might be the dumbest person i have ever met.. ur argument for fed not being the best is that he gets to the final of the french every year and loses to nadal? oh right, my bad, cuz pete was so good on clay right.. haha ur a joke
Regardless of how tired he was, Nadal still played this match and Federer emerged as the winner. Lastly, someone mentioned how Pete Sampras could "wipe the floor" with Federer. Let's go back in time to Wimbldeon 2001, Federer defeated Sampras in the fourth round. Plus, Sampras earned 14 Grand Slams out of 52 appearances and Federer has earned 11 Grand Slams out of 33 appearances, and Federer is TEN YEARS younger than this guy.
I was surprised Nadal even played this tournament. He grinded out a full weeks worth of tennis the previous week in winning the Italian Open. Last year he skipped this tournament after the Italian Open. Federer went out early in the Italian Open, and got to rest before this tournament. Rafa admitted he was tired after this tournament. His clay court streak would certainly be alive if he had skipped this event like last year.
I know his pain must be excruciating , poor Roger, his only hope is if he can get a lunatic fan to stab Nadal in the back, like Steffi had to do to Monica. It seemed to work out well for her :)
Can you taste poor Roger's tears of frustration??, I can :)
That's gotta suck, to get beaten by some fag that wears capri's :)
LOL, I love it, Federer is the greatest player ever, unfortunately he's up against the greatest Clay Court Player ever. Ha ha, Nadal kicks his ass again in the French, maybe next year Roger, but probably not, Nadal is only 21. Well, 3 out of 4 ain't bad :)
The look on Federer's face is priceless, as he wins another parisian tea tray, I just know he's dying inside :)
Could u post Sampras' record at Roland Garros here...? Not especially great huh? Sampras has 14 big wins and at the end of the next season Federer will have atleast 15 and still maybe 10 years of tennis ahead of him...
They are both very good player, of course. I like Roger more because of his unique style, but he himself praises Nadal, so why shouldn't we? They are really good and it's always great to see them figt. I don't find Roger cocky, just very confident...and happy! He came out of a difficult period after Rome.
that is not cockiness, that is confidence!!cocky is someone like roddick, with all that stuff he said before aus open 2007, and then being thrashed by roger in the final. roger always says he played well after winning, even sometimes when he lost. which player doesnt? and so what if they do, they deserve it
uh - sure federer says he played well - thats ok - what do you want him to say - oh i was lucky - he always says that. look federer played well that match no doubt - he still gives nadals cedit and says how remarkable his 81 match streak is and that he himself has never come close to 81 straight. Might sound cocky I agree, but if you think about it what else would you expect him or any other player in his position to say
federer is a cocky arrogant son of a b@$#h. All he talks about is himself. "I played excellent, I played well" Blah Blah Blah. Nadal is still the KING OF CLAY. GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD kitchiner8976
Haha, either you can't hear or your blind admiration for Nadal only lets you hear and think bad things about Federer. Or your just stupid.
Federer's the least arrogant top player in ages, he always praises his opponents, never puts them down and frankly never talks larger than life. Most he ever does is the simple recognition that he did indeed play well.
he doesn't give nadal any credit "to beat him in such a convincing way" and its a three set match. and also what he did differently was "played very good" he played well the other times he lost to him on clay but nadal just outplayed him. He won't get past the quarters in roland garros
roger federer is a cocky arrogant piece of crap. He is not the best player in the history of tennis because nadal always wins him on clay and he's not the no . 1 on clay. Pete sampras would wipe the floor with this guy. Nadal is the better player face it roger federer isn't.
Pete was great but relied on his serve far too much. Federer is the most consistant player and great to watch. Nadal is great too but doesn't have Federer's talent. calling Federer arrogant is the best joke I've heard in years. He is such a nice guy and not in the least bit arrogant. You still have a lot to learn.
OMG i can't believe it How can you call thi guy the best tennis player in history he's not nor will he ever be the best. Yes he's a great player but he's not the best ever. That's a complete over statement.
Nadal is better than him on clay and soon will dominate him on all surfaces.
Well, not anymore. Now it's Söderling, but before that, Federer again ;)
