  • Americans dont know how to make cars...oh wait, they know how to make cars that suck balls! look i know that Henry ford revolutionized the auto industry and GM was a beacon of light back in the day but now...they are done! Finished...just like America is finished..That flag meant something before but now when others see that flag they think "When is my country getting invaded?" .... They cant do anything without invading other countries.

  • WHERE is Free Market capitalism you dirty American scum .... HA ???

  • SMART BUS, Detroit, MI. The UAW President Gettlefinger along with Region 1's Joe Peters are all fighting hard to get a racist his job back after he was fired for threatening Obama while using Racial overtones. This guy had also discriminated against a Chaldean American. The UAW has no credibility when it comes to fighting against discrimination and hard working decent people. Copy the link below and paste it to the search bar on youtube's site:

  • No I won't buy one, I will spend more money after that to repair it plus they are not good at all thats why the people are not buying them! Now with this promotion they are trying to get people and of course the cheap asses will jump right away!

  • Search "Auto Bailout Bullsh*t"...

Or click on my username and find it in my videos.

    It's both hilarious AND insightful.

The CEOs of GM and Chrysler are snakes!

    Enjoy.

  • ANY GUYS UP?

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TALK TO ME oz

  • this is AMERICA, and as an AMERICAN, I say no bailouts for FAILURE..

  • chokeOn

Its American pay checks that are failing, you may make good money at 22 years old but we have millions that dont make a pay check that will pay the bills. The middle class is under attack, do you think the fat cat politicians are trying to bust the middle class because its good for you and I. We dont have lobbyists like the big business and Wall Street guys buying politicians.

  • People need do some google searches and educate them self with some facts before posting any comments.

  • Except ... notice something weird about this calculation? It's not as if each active worker is getting health benefits and pensions worth $42 per hour. That would come to nearly twice his or her wages. (Talk about gold-plated coverage!) Instead, each active worker is getting benefits equal only to a fraction of that--probably around $10 per hour, according to estimates from the International Motor Vehicle Program

  • But then what's the source of that $70 hourly figure? It didn't come out of thin air. Analysts came up with it by including the cost of all employer-provided benefits--namely, health insurance and pensions--and then dividing by the number of workers. The result, they found, was that benefits for Big Three cost about $42 per hour, per employee. Add that to the wages--again, $28 per hour--and you get the $70 figure. Voila.

  • The $70 figure is wildly misleading. Lets start with the fact that its not $70 per hour in wages. According to Kristin Dziczek of the Center for Automative Researchaverage wages for workers at Chrysler, Ford and General Motors were just $28 per hour as of 2007.

  • I dont know if some of the people that post on YOU TUBE are from the U.S. because it sounds like they want the U.S. fail in a bad way, this is not about UAW or saving some CEOs job this is about the middle class way of life

  • My thinking is I still have my job for now, but if things keep going down the tubes and we lose more jobs you or I will be next, I think people that are speaking out should let people know what there motives are

  • People are mad at the price of cars because they are making less and less of a living wage, the main thing I keep hearing is WHO THE HELL CAN AFFORD A NEW CAR

This is a result of the job loss to low wage countries

  • Blame the UAW for 3 million unemployed, not the lack of a bailout.

Every major automaker in the world would be setting up shop in Michigan right now trying to scoop up experienced workers desperate for a paycheck. But having to pay 3-4 times their fair market salary completely negates what they would gain from it.

  • Yeah, Make those stinkin' auto workers get $1.23 an hour like they do in Mexico!!!! With no benefits and pension!!!! That'll show those greedy workers that they aren't any better than Mexicans!!! Then we can compete with the third world countries!!! Let's race to the bottom!!! Whaaa Hoooo!!

  • Hello people we have 3 million people unemployed and losing there houses the last thing on there mind is buying a Toyota or any other car, we have been losing jobs and work to places like China that pay slave labor wages and we keep on racing to the bottom, The government has gave U.S. company tax brakes to move US jobs overseas for years and like Ross Perot said in the 90s that sucking sound of jobs going over seas is hitting us now.

  • The UAW is losing its edge in pay compared with non-unionized U.S. assembly plant workers for foreign companies, even as Detroit automakers aim for deeper benefit cuts to trim their losses

  • In at least one case last year, workers for a foreign automaker for the first time averaged more in base pay and bonuses than UAW members working for domestic automakers, according to an economist for the Center for Automotive Research and figures

  • In that instance, Toyota Motor Corp. gave workers at its largest U.S. plant bonuses of $6,000 to $8,000, boosting the average pay at the Georgetown, KY, plant to the equivalent of $30 an hour. That compares with a $27 hourly average for UAW workers, most of whom did not receive profit-sharing checks last year

  • Toyota got 100s of millions of tax payers money and land to build in Alabama for a couple thousand jobs. And the profits go to Japan

  • People, you should understand that the US does not have a comparative advantage anymore on automobiles... There is no law or ideal that a company should stay operating for incompetence in the free market. Screw the ceo's, the problem is, the workers losing their jobs. Even if we gave them the bailout, the problem would show up again later in the future, its like giving more drugs to a junkie.

  • I will never buy a US car again. Take my money by force? This is unconstitutional!!!

What gives the govt to do this?

  • @truthsabre7 thats to bad ford is making some great cars with no recalls

  • FOR THOSE THAT ARE CURIOUS; let me break it down to the lowest common denominator for you boys and girls. All that you need to remember in life is that every time a Republican gets in office: 1) a war will start (for whatever reason), and 2) The economy will turn to shit. Check your history before you crack your pie-hole. Sincerely, the one that brings reality to your noggin.

  • The same people that gave trillions to the bankers to "free up credit markets" won't extend a loan to the auto industry who has suffered because of corruption on wall street and washington. Isn't it an orwellian twist that they would give away trillions to "free up credit" but then won't extend credit to probably the most important US industry? No one questioned where that $700 billion package was going, and that was jsut the begining. Banks don't produce anything except credit out of thin air.

  • jvids

    Great Post

Yes Yes Yes!!!!!! Finally someone that sees the forest through the trees

  • Make them sell for 50% off so we get something for our money while they sink. Dont support their pathetic management practices, pay the money directly to all the workers, let them buy the company out, flush those upper company deficits down the drain. Make them compete like a real business, to be profitable, It has nothing to do with the economy, It has everything to do with there incompetence greed and high standards they think they deserve at the expense of others. They are Immune to struggle

  • The death of GM, Chrysler, and Ford will come about because of the greed of unions. The death of GM, Chrysler, and Ford will ultimately spell the death of unions. The death of unions will spell a resurgence in a renewed work ethic in the US that has not been seen in years. Unions spawn lazy shiftless workers which produces a substandard product that no one with any brains wants to buy. Unless you absolutely love your car mechanic.

  • the big 3 won't be going anyware. The most that will happen, and Ireally hope it does, is the big 3 will finally be allowed to file chapter 13 bankruptcy and void all those blood sucking uninon contracts. then they can finally rebuild.

  • Dumb-Dumb the unions are setting a high stander of living, we need to drive everyones wages up not down, also the workers at Toyota make the same if not more then the UAW workers anyway. The fat cat senators are looking out for big business not YOU the middle class. Do you think they are attacking the working class to help the consumer if they drive down labor costs the savings will not go to you it will go to corporate greed. Support The Middle Class Workers!!!!!!!

  • "setting a high stander of living" More like setting a higher standard for welfare. GM alone has SEVEN HUNDRED THOUSAND unemployed UAW workers that are STILL recieving a paycheck and all they do is sit on their fat lazy asses on their couch and just let the GM welfare checks roll in. I do support middile class workers. I AM a midile class worker But I expect to payed by the amount and quality of work I do and not expect to get payed because my union will sue if I don't.

  • acomsrazor1776

This is a form of union negotiated job security that comes from being in a union this is an incentive for car makers to keep work in the US and to recall the laid off workers. I think it would be better to raise our pay and benefits to there level and not drop theirs to ours. They keep my hope up that we can have something better, how can any one live and raise a family on $12 an hour

  • Toyota is NON Union. Their employee's make just as much as GM workers and their company is still making money. GM is moving jobs out of country to get the hell away from the damn bloody unions. What you are explaining is not job security it is wellfare and nothing more. Those 700 thousand unemployed UAW workers are getting a check for doing absolutely shit. they aren't being productive in any way at all. The UAW needs to die.

  • AcomsRazor1776

Hello Toyota will start to lay off people also and it is only a mater of time in this economy that they will have money problems and the Japanese government will have to give them loans, but the Japanese will not turn on each other like the US people do.

(PS) Let me know if you are still working in 3 months

  • You don't know Japanes culture very well do you? I have lived among members of three Japanese families for most of my life and I can tell you that the MOMENT when a japanes employee bedcomes unproductive (lazy) he gets his ass canned. They only pay good productive workers and don't settle for simple quotas. work well they treat you well work excellently they treat you excellently, work badly and your fired. They would rather lay off 500 to keep 5000 others working.

  • Maybe you should move to Japan then, I will take an American worker over any other worker in the world, just to say that someone is lazy with out knowing them or walking in their shoes is wrong. Have some patriotism and support the middle class workers

(PS) Dont forget to let me know if you have a job in 3 months ans then we can talk

  • My dad was union for 17 years when his company went on strike for "workers rights" after the strike was over my father was laid off. The union did not fight for one second to keep his job. it has been 18 years since then and He has never gone back to the union. My father has seen first hand the lazyness of union workers who only work the bare minimum and he refuses to be a part of that any more.

(PS) I work in a cornered market. You would be surprised how much demolition esplosive sell for

  • We can kick and scream all we want but the government will do what ever they want to do and we cant stop it, so the Detroit auto makers will get the money the same way the banks got the money and the tax payers will pay for it, all we can do about it is hope that some people will keep there jobs and the US auto makers learn something from it so they can make a better and cheaper car and pay the loans back in the future. So buy the car that you like to drive.

God Bless you and your family

  • Just so you know I buy American cars. They justtend to be 40 years old or so When I do =)

  • @AcomsRazor1776 they like cutting workers when they get older.they dont pay there workers retirement they have the goverment pay it.who payed to build there texas truck plant that is only working one shift or the one there building miss. taxpayers.thats welfare .guess if the company gets the money and not thew hard ass workers your ok with it

  • UAW WILL NEVER DIE SORRY

  • hey buddy when toyota shut down for weeks because of there recalled there workers still got payed guess that was welfare too

  • sorry to tell you toyota didnt make money they had to get a 3billion bailout from japan. last year you may hate the uaw and hope it dies .sorry to tell you its not going to happen.workers have a rigth to vote a union in.

  • Acoms

The problem is the fat lazy ass big business and government types that have divided and conquer the middle class, why do you think the republican senators are fighting the unions so hard its not for the little guys.

  • AcomsRazor1776

Your telling me if you had the benefits that the big 3 UAW has you would throw them away so the big shot can make a bigger profits.

  • WHAT profits? GM lost 32 BILLION in the last year yet they sold just as many vehicles as Toyota. Think about that for a sec GM vehicles sell on average for MORE than a toyota yet they lost 32 BILLION. I would rather take a loss and keep getting paid rather than not give an inch and lose everything. a company cannot survive without profits, how do you not expect them to?

  • ford has made 5 billion so for this year

  • i work at ford love for you to try and call me lazy to my face .but you would cry to you mommy when you get your ass kicked

  • your math is nuts they have no where near 7 hundred thousand laid off your smoking crack.hell ford is only got 600 people laid off.and they will all be moved to other plants and working there asses off in other states in 2 months.its kind of funny how everybody hates the subpay we get while we on layoff.but its funny toytda started it years ago.so there train worker would be ready when they needed them

  • @AcomsRazor1776 GUESS U WAS WRONG AND FORD IS KICKING ASS MAKING MONEY AND UNION LOL

  • @AJstar9 Ford is still making money Because of Five Factors

#1 They Build simple Cars people Actually want to buy

#2 They REFUSED The Governments Bailout money

#4 They Spend and invest their Money Wisely to keep them out of a financial funk

and #5 They Have the SMALLEST Union Influence of the Big 3. Ford Has managed to Keep the Unions from Overrunning the company and taking control which is exactly what Happened to Chrysler and GM, now those two are Stuck on Federal Financial life Support.

  • YOU KNOW NOTHING OF TODAYS UNION.FORD IS MAKING MONEY WORKING WITH THE UNIONS AND BUILDING AND DESIGNING THE BEST CARS IN THE WORLD.YOUR A JOKE BLAMING THE UAW WHE ONE OF THE COMPANYS IS DOING SO WELL.,IT PROVE A UAW COMPANY CAN DO WELL..TOTOTA ISNT UAW WHY THEY BUILDING RECALLED JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sorry chysler had smaller union then ford

  • @AJstar9 Apparently you don't hold a very high capacity for comprehension. I believe my exact words were Union INFLUENCE. Chrysler has the LARGEST Union Influence because the Union OWNS the MAJORITY of Chyrsler and yet Chrysler is Failing Harder than Yoko Ono's singing career and now GM is following in there footsteps. BOTH are on Government Finanacial Life support while Ford, due to the actions of their senior Management have been able to financially stabilize Without GOV. or union "Help"

  • i think ford got a lot of help from the union to help turn it around.about $7,000 a member

  • @AJstar9 Yeah! IT had nothing to do with Ford's CEO's Taking out several sizable loans several years ago Before The economy took a nose dive to use to plan and invest for the future of the company. Ford simply has smart CEO's that is all. and it's about damn time they canceled production of that shitbox they call the crown Vic

  • the shitboxes as you call them sold over 50,000 called police cars.they had over 70% of the market. guess some cops liked them.i just hope the like the new one as much.

  • @AJstar9 I have interned with the Mempis police Department and EVERY cop I have ever ridden with during my internship hated them. The Only reason that Police departments used them for so long was because of their size and Price. They Were Cheap and they had a larger backseat and trunk that could accommodate more equipment and arrests. They were slow, Maneuvered badly, and had unresponsive steering. The waiting list for a new Charger patrol car was COMPLETELY backed up for two years.

  • @AcomsRazor1776 there has never been a waiting list for the charger.the cops i know hate them because the are small.thats why the only have 8% of the market.the new ford cop cars have more hp then the charger.yet alot bigger.plus every body knows the charger is junk.

  • @AJstar9 Apparently you have no clue what I mean by waiting list. The Memphis Police Department, like any other Police department, has a limited budget. That means that they are limited as to how many cars they can buy a year as well. The Chargers handle better they were faster, and they were alot easier to drive than the Vics were any day of the week. The only down side was the ride was a bit harder due to the performance suspension.

  • @AcomsRazor1776 kind of funny your kind of waiting list they are limited how many cars they can buy.but they have the money to buy ford the sale 70% of all cop cars.besides with the new ford taurus thats got more hp plus more room and better gas saving .i dont see to many junky chargers being sold

  • apparently you dont have a clue what 70% of the police car market is.guess police department has a limited budget for chargers but the can buy as many fords as they can.thats why ford has 70% of the market

  • @AJstar9 Chrysler has been Bailed out SEVERAL times by the Gov. In the past, and GM doesn't have the best financial track record either. Without this absolutely criminal "Bailout" Both GM and Chrysler would have failed HARD. and Both would have deserved it. Would they have disappeared? Absolutely not, someone would have bought them up at a fire sale price and probably had the opportunity to actually reformed these companies into productive elements of the economy but now that opportunity is dead

  • FORD IS DOING GREAT

  • sorry buddy ford and the uaw is doing great.but i hope you lose your job

  • sorry buddy ford and the uaw is doing great.but i hope you lose your job

  • @pukeandterror FORD IS MAKING MONEY STOCK IS KINKING ASS AND THE UNION WORKER ARE STILL HERE HOPE U DONT DRIVE A RECALLED TOYOTA

  • ford isnt going to die there doing great

  • The effect on layoffs is already beeing felt by state governments. States and municipalities are already cutting back services. In some cities they cutting poilice and fire services because the money is just not flowing in to support them. The effect is not just to "punish" the auto companies. The "punishment" effects everyone.

  • I can't help but think tat many of these people who are screaming bloody murder about these government "bailouts" have jobs that would not be effected. But, if the economy completely tanks and they were to loose their jobs they would then scream bloody murder that their elected officials didn't do anything to prevent it.

  • TO ALL UAW WORKERS - DO WHAT OBAMA DID - start a website for donations against the republican faggot clowns that are trying to kill the US stock market by their union busting political stunt of opposing the US automake LOAN, not like the GIVEAWAY they gave wall street. THE REASON - they are in the pocket of foreign automakers because of their plants in their states. Send all donations to the oppposing candidate of MITCH MCCONNELL (R-KY), BOB CORKER (R-TN) and David Vitter (R-LA).

  • Freedom! Yes in america you are free to make $5 an hour, and have your money taken to save jobs for people who make $42 an hour to make crappy cars and get paid for life. How many americans does it take to screw in a light bulb? None, they are too stupid!

  • REPLY TO MUTEDMAJORITY Here we go again, another isiot that listens to Rush Limpdick and OREALLY instead of digging up facts. The very republican faggots that opposed the automaker $15 billion LOAN to the US automakers (as opposed to the $700 billion GIVEAWAY they voted for wall street) are all in the pocket of foreign automakers with plants in their states.

  • "Yes in america you are free to make $5 an hour, and have your money taken to save jobs for people who make $42 an hour to make crappy cars and get paid for life. How many americans does it take to screw in a light bulb?"

Pretty dumb response. Those who make $5 an hour pay nothing in taxes. Its those who make $42 an hour who pay the taxes in this country along with the rich. Its those who make $42 an hour that make this country go.

  • Haha hey yeah I hope you don't get our money. Seeing assholes like you unemployed would be worth any repercussion.

  • go to china you can make 112 dollars a month

  • The Senate recently passed a massive bailout for their Jew banker buddies, but when it comes to regular working folks they get shit on.

  • I wonder if those who are most vocally against this "bailout" are not likely to lose their jobs anytime soon. I suppose that it is easy to pass judgement if it does not effect you directly.

  • What about the auto repairmen who will lose their work if the auto companies stay in business? What about those smart folks who were tooling up with alternate business ideas and saw this coming? What about them? You gonna cheat them by altering the very nature of capitalism?

  • REPLY TO MUTEDMAJORITY What about you? Your repub clowns will crash the stock market today with their politically motivated tricks and I don't care what country you are in, if you are working or retired...it doesn't matter, your holdings or earnings are set to drop dramatically today. Yahoo!

  • "What about the auto repairmen who will lose their work if the auto companies stay in business? "

Dumb question...its the repair people who stand to gain keeping autos on the road because no one can buy new ones.

  • That was my point einstein.

  • Obama and company will bankrupt America.

  • Where are you living bud? George W. Bush and thieves ALREADY bankrupted America! We are on the verge now of an economic apocalypse worse than the Great Depression.

  • Im talking about the real owners now the wealth BUSINESS INTEREST that own all the major corporations and make all the important decisions. Forget the politicians they are irrellavant, politicians are there to give you the illusion you have freedom of choice, you don't, you have no choice, you have owners they own you.

    -George Carlin

  • Hooray for the Congressmen and Senators opposed to bailouts!

  • funny how the republican senators stonewalling have FOREIGN auto plants in their states

  • Those foreign automakers are better companies that make better cars for better prices. They have EARNED their existence.

The problem with the big 3 is that they have been sucked dry by the UAW. The UAW has been a huge weight around the big 3's necks for the past 40+ years. As a result, quality has suffered and American cars are mediocre.

  • "Hooray for the Congressmen and Senators opposed to bailouts!"

Will you lose your job if this loan plan fails? Probably not!

  • AMERICANS you did a fine job telling how important it is to buy American products from food to autos from USA companys who make and have higher standards fairer wages for USA workers and must comply with laws of our nation and be held responsible when they dont. Unlike many other nations selling goods in our country. Its time for all of our states to support one another. And not be traitors to some foriegn country lining their pockets and to cause people in the USA to live worst off with less

  • Autoworkers make upwards of $30 an hour, and they want to keep their jobs at the expense of those who get less. Boo hoo greedy fat pigs. Maybe you shouldn't have choked your employer and customers to death with your union. Die and learn.

  • REPLY TO MUTEDMAJORITY Run the pie-hole without facts again I see.

    2006 facts:

UAW average salary (without bonuses they didn't get)= $27/hour

US Toyota worker average salary = $30 / hour

US Nissan average salary = $26 / hour.

Please try to get some facts before you run the pie-hole...you're wasting my time with crap you hear on AM radio.

  • hahahhaaaaa you ain't gettin it. See you at the freeway onramp with your little fucking cardboard sign. Write on there. I'm so fucking stupid and greedy I choked the life out of my employer demanding too much money for making shitty cars.. if it will all fit. Or just write "laid off auto worker" and we will all know.

  • "Or just write "laid off auto worker" and we will all know."

This is not just about laid off auto workers. I agree they have gotten themselves in this position but they will need to make some concessions to help get out of this. Apparently, they are not totally willing to make the committment. Just be aware that many people will suffer that had not stake in this.

  • "Autoworkers make upwards of $30 an hour, and they want to keep their jobs at the expense of those who get less."

You must be one of those that makes less then $30 an hour. You sound jelous.

  • so, who's gonna bail out the gov't once it fucks itself up, therefore all of us, for good? if only ron paul got elected...

  • People should just start using their copying machines and make money out of thin air like the government does. There breaking the law but telling us we cant. This country is fucked in the head.

  • No aid to non-viable futures where viability extends to the domain of highest achievable value. IF you want to measure viability in such terms you will quickly realize that NOTHING in the public sector is "viable" any more nor has it been for decades now.

Nobody in their right mind will willingly buy an inferior or overpriced product and that is precisely what we have available no matter where you turn. Advancements in EVERY sector exist which make our current markets a literal joke.

  • The average auto worker pay is $18 10% of the price of a car. They have been giving concession the pass 3 contracts

  • so this person its asking the gov if they realy want to help the auto industry or the so called economy,THEY GOT 3 CHOICES.

1.GIVE THE LOAN TO THE PEOPLE TO GO BUY A CAR FRONM ANY ONE OF THEM ,with good or bad credit2.GIVE THE MONEY TO THE AUTO INDUSTRY AFTER THEY SEND A CAR OR A TRUCK TO EACH FAMILY(THEY WANT THE MONEY WITH OUT GIVEN A WAY N9OTHIG,IMAGEN THAT)3. IF THE GOV WANT TO GIVE MONEY A WAY BE IT BUT SEND THE MONEY TO THE FAMILIES WITH THE ORDER TO BUY A CAR TRUCK OR PARTS.

  • to help this companies but never help the veterans, the workers, the students the homeless the farmers etc etc its time to stop this madness,AND DO LIKE SOME ONE O READY DID IN TEXAS FILLING A LAW SUIT AGAINST PAULSON AND PELOSI,THIS PERSON ITS ASKING THE OURTS TO BRING THOSE persons to the stand and answer the claim of the people of usa WHY ON THE LORDS NAME U GIVEN OUR MONEY A WAY/,IF THEY JOB ITS NOT TO repart or give or loan money that belongs to the people,so its a case goin on against this

  • this money its for the benefit of the whole country no for some one that can't run a bussiness, this money its for roads, for health, for education, for the veterans, for the well begin of the country and alot more, but not to save some one that can't run any type of bussines;or u the bankrup person could you go outer and ask for bail out to the gov?? of course not,we need TO STOP THE CONGRESS,THE TREASURY SECRETARY,THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,THE BANKING COMITTE AND ALL THOSE POLITICIANS that want

  • let me put this straigh;WHEN U NEED MONEY FOR U BUSSINESS U GO TO THE BANK TO GET A LOAN RIGHT?NOW THE GOV O READY GIVE THE BANKS MORE THAN 700,000,000,000 <---READ SEVEN HUNDREH THOUSAND MILLION ITS NOT A 700 BILLION;the auto industry need to go to the banks and ask for that loan ok;and all of u on all usa need to go to u court houses and file a class action suit against the goverment bail out, loan or give a way, because that money belong to u all, dont be full by this crying wolf of this suckers

  • The United States must fix its trade problems, particularly unfair trade with China, which has cost the nation more than 3.5 million manufacturing jobs this decade including more than 200,000 factory jobs in Pennsylvania

  • If we had more people in unions more people would make a living wage and have health insurance, big business has every one divide and brainwashed how can anyone live on less then $12 dollars an hour and pay for have health insurance and a lot of people do, I was like a lot of people and thought the unions workers are overpaid and underworked, but the truth be told non union works are underpaid and overworked. We need to come toghther and build the middle class up not knock your neighbor down

  • Fuck the automakers, if they made efficient cars they would not be in this mess. Who will line up next for a hand out? The fast food industry?

  • Keep thinking that way and you will be working for the fast food companies for $7 an hour because thats the only jobs that will be left, don't shoot yourself in the foot.

  • the state of California is in financial budget crisis and deficit

i guess our governor will fly to washington with a cup !

  • the technology has been out for years but their pals the oil companies told them that the people doesn't want these cars that use no fuel.the oil companies have interests in the future market and doesn't want to let that go!!!!!!!

  • I think the car companies now understand that they have to make an EREV it is the wave of the future. So I hope the volt is a baby step to mass produced EREV. We need to leave the past screw ups (EV1) in the past and (Be The Change

  • LMAO. Het auto workers, Welcome to the barrel. I am a carpenter or what is left of American carpenters. The government says Americans dont want to be carpenters anymore. So that made it ok in Americas eyes to let all these ilegals in to do work Americans dont want to do. Sounds like your next. Yall do complain a lot and you are never happy. Sounds like illegals can do your job better and cheaper. LMAO How does it feel. To be kick to the curb.

  • @Patriotintears hey what happen to you is wrong.but hoping it happens to others isnt the rigth way to think.need to get the carpenter union stronger.so when we want a house built it will help american.

  • We are the world, we are the children

We are the ones who make a brighter day

    So let's start GIVIN!

Where are Micheal Jackson, Quincy Jones, Lionel Richie and friends when you need them?

  • NO BAILOUT!

use the money to open new Toyota or Honda plants..

  • GMAC should have just came out and ask for a bailout as a BANK!

Apparently, Washington has NO PROBLEM bailing out banks! Wall Street white collar CEO etc..

But when UAW blue collar worker jobs are at stake...they say "Well, we don't know about that... we'll get back to you on that".

    Here's an Example:

"Hi, my name is GMAC and I'm a BANK!

Can I have a piece of that yummy bailout?"

    :-)

  • yes but a UAW worker gets $70+ somthing an hour, that crap will have to stop,i agree with you though.

  • P.S. I drive a Ford (when it starts)

  • Well, the bailout is coming...the only way to get even is to vote every Congressman and Senator OUT who votes for it. It's the only weapon we have.

  • How many Americans could live off of just one of the CEO's salaries and for how long?

  • big three ceo"s SHOULD BE TAKEN OUT IN THE WOODS AND HUNG...BIG DUMMYS

  • bail out those incompitant pigs.. Congress. We'll see how many of you are still in office next term.

  • jobs are at stake, of course....but new jobs will come as the car market adjusts

  • Even if the US bails out the big 3, there will still be massive lay-offs; its simply innevitable at this point. The 3 companies are far too big and equally as incompetent to succeed at their current state

GM should be broken down into Chevy and Cadillac (Hummer should remain purely as a military commodity), Ford should be Ford and Lincoln, and Chrysler should be broken down into Jeep (their one and only brand that has any international staying power) and possibly Dodge if the market permits

  • The Big 3 would have to heavely invest money into re-tooling themselves to produce electric, hybrid, and diesel-electric vehicles.

Currently all 3 have either electric or hybrid vehicles in development, whereas Chrysler has a diesel-electric powertrain in the works [i.e. 115hp 3cyl diesel generator that powers two 268hp electric motors; which gets 110mpg!!!]

If the big 3's upper management and auto union take a massive paycut, things could possibly take a turn for the best down the road

  • With the bailout or without,, it will eventually go down because our North American auto industry operates like CANCER, slow death, we have to admitt and we all new this was coming down eventually. Regroup will cost allot of jobs, but we need all to stick together through the hard times ahead.

  • those 3 fuckers to gtfo

  • i hope their private jets crash, the ceo's escape the crash alive but they'll all get hit by an electric powered truck and die a slow and painful death.

In all seriousness 25 billion won't do shit,it's like putting a bandaid over a bullet wound, spend 25billion on new industries there are shitloads of smart/efficient technologies available for transport pick one and create an industry from it,we did it before why the fuck can't we do it now?(that's a rhetorical q we can't do it unless we tell...

  • they should have been working on concept cars since the 70's; now its 2008, let me see thats 38 years ago and they still have nothing to show but a giant line of suv's and hummers. whats up with that? we have to pay for our own mistakes, let them pay for theirs. do hope congress, our elected, who also receives a lot of free perks, goes in the right direction here.

  • well maybe it is time for the big 3 to bow out and let some alternative "small" company come in to save the day. the big 3 should have been working on vehicles that get much better gas mileage, much better than even 30 miles per gallon. what about free sun, wind, water? can we do something with that? or electric and or a mix. we should not bail them out so they can continue their lavish lifestyle and we are the ones that are still suffering from having to pay the price for their mistakes.

  • Oh.... I thought it was new money. But I guess it isn't actually a victory because this money was already stolen from us. Really if the money is already gone, I'd rather have it go to the auto companies than the banks, but whatever.

Keep on ignoring us, Congress. We'll see how many of you are still in office next term.

  • give 100billion to a new electric car industry jobs will be saved and those 3 fuckers can get fucked.

  • ditto

  • oh yeh and one more thing

those 3 fuckers killed the electric car

    GET fucked!!

  • oh btw did i mention that those fuckers killed the electric car?

    they can get fucked

  • those fuckers killed the electric car they can get FUCKED!! not taking my money.

  • At the moment small businesses are in trouble, starting with the announcement of the Death and Doom bailout package that no one on the street will probably ever see a dime of. That money is for businesses with corporate jets and lavish weekend spa packages. What kind of idiots show up on corporate jets begging for billions without a business plan and what kind of idiots listen to them? My new companies business plan starts with being forced to layoff good hard working people.

  • If we would drill for oil and natural gas (which government could convert their fleets of cars and trucks to natural gas starting now) we would buy suv's and trucks.

Hmmm let's see-PELOUSIE, REID AND OBAMA-NO DRILLING-OK WE DO WHAT YOU SAY-WE QUIT DRIVING, WE SELL OUR SUV'S, WE DO NOT BUY THEM AND SO THE BIG 3 ARE GOING OUT OF BUISINESS AND THEN YOU STUIPID POLITICIANS ACT LIKE YOU ARE INNOCENT. YOU STUPID PEOPLE! THE BIG 3 NEED OIL AND NATURAL GAS TO RUN ON-THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE FUEL YET

  • Obama says, I support the Auto Bailout.. Then goes back to Chicago and jacks-off for a week.. Probably doing a few lines of coke.

  • The truth is, letting AIG fail would have less impact on American Citizens, than it would if the Auto Industry fails.. So they gave away $700 Billion, to keep wealthy people wealthy, but refuse to give $25 Billion to Automakers, which will effect poor American Citizens right now.. You watch how many people lose their homes in the next week.. Watch how many people lose their jobs, cars, and dignity.. Got Damn Democrats! While Obama sits quietly on the sidelines and watches..

  • What does Obama have to do with this? Isn't Bush the President? He was not gonna sign off on the $25Billion package anyway. There is a compromise and it's gonna be decided on the 8th of next month.

  • The democrats did not make the banking industry write a business plan, before they gave them $700 billion dollars, with no strings attached.. However, they won't help the Auto industry hurt by un-regulated health insurance, because it will directly impact American Civilians. Where as the Banking Bailout would only effect the wealthy.

  • Mid & Upper Level Management is GREEDY & HEARTLESS.

They're trying to blame the Working Man & Women.

  • pretty soon the Federal Reserve Note will need a bailout too thats where gold and silver come in

  • Paul Kanjorski owns!

  • not if he voted for the patriot act oh wait he did

  • I was commenting on his actions in this video, not his general actions in Congress. Chill.

  • okay nigger

  • Wow you're an intelligent person, aren't you?

  • chill i agreed with you

  • Idiots running the big corporations!

  • Maybe because nobody wants to buy your vehicles big 3?

  • STOP MAKING SHIT PRODUCTS and start making Honda/Toyota quality products! (that's what people want) There's your solution!

No Jobs need to be lost - we just need more Honda and Toyota plants!

Let the big 3 die! Bad market vision should not be rewarded. If we give them 25Billion - they might start making small TANKS guzling 2 miles per gallon...

  • @Kold2market toyota has had alot of recalls like 8 mill just this year i wouldnt call that quality.plus they lied about it.plus they got a 8bill bailout from japan.dont sound like there any better

  • Auto Industy killed itself

  • Maybe if the executives would be willing to stop flying in private jets, and take a pay cut from their 16 million dollar a year salaries, they wouldn't be in this mess.

  • A good suggestion "Grant funds to the auto industry with the agreement that Lee Iaccoca oversees the management."

    Keep Americans employed!

  • Would we rather see communist chinese and foreign investors receive trillions in bailout money, than extend credit to the automakers?

That's where the money will go if it doesn't stay here in America.

In other news, Mexican independent news station receives two grenade attacks for reporting on INCREASED drug trade and drug-trade related deaths.

  • News of the weird:

"Woman finds golden necklace when she breaks a lump of coal which was too big to fit in her coal burning stove."

Gold found embedded in coal reported in other areas.

Maybe coal-mining isn't dead after all.

  • Will someone is the so called "free market capitalist" society just let the market work? Bailing them out is only prolonging the misery. If they do not have a product that people want, and do not make a profit, they should fail.
