Sorry to say, I finished this game twice when I had it. Its not that difficult, once you get used to it. The ending shows a big ceromony like the film, and luke and Hab Solo are awarded medals by the princess

On the contrary there is a continue in the game. Here how it goes; After GAME OVER, press UP arrow steady & at the same time rapidly press the A button 8 times -> Results, the GAME OVER sign by Darth Vader becomes a CONTINUE & it works on both missions. However you must have at least 30 or more F. diamonds when you die on the game for the continue to work. & as long as you have sufficient F. Diamonds the continue is endless, But If you have less than 30 F.Ds when you die. it's indeed GAME OVER!

I don't think I want to play the game to further find this out, but from what I read, the scorpion he's "Scorpion Vader" and says Luke's friends are inside, so I guess they're Vader clones/robots which makes even less sense then it just being Darth Vader himself.

Even on top of that, if you got a game over and wanted to continue from where you left off, all you had to do was unplug the second controller from the famicom and stick a fork in the slot and move it around a couple times and it would bring up a level select. Yeah I went through a couple systems as a result but it was well worth it. Hard? Yes. Piece of shit? No way.

Yes by today's standards the game looks ridiculous, even if compared to other games of the time. Thing is, back then not everyone had the resources to have refined products like everyone demands nowadays. Growing up in Japan and actually owning this game back then, I can say it was a lot of fun. It also wasn't as hard as it's made to be.

This game was probably made by a bunch of arcade-junkie jerks who spent most of their development cycle beating each others' completion times, not even bothering to hunt down and fix game-stopping bugs. You can even trick the game into spawning multiple Luke Skywalkers.

I love it.

Also, for what it's worth, this is sort of a refined clone of "Alex Kidd in Miracle World" with a Star Wars paint job. In fact, the secret continue code is identical. Maybe they were made by the same people?

This game sucks monkey balls! Why is R2-D2 being kidnapped by Jawas when they just sold it to Luke? Why do Luke has the light saber when he havent even meet Obi-Wan yet? You know what's sad?

This game has so much potential- the graphics look good, minus the Animorphing and Mickey Mouse-looking Luke. The levels look fairly well designed, minus the unfair traps.

If they had added a lifebar, some continues, a better sprite for Luke, and better hit detection, they probably would have been able to get away with all that diversion from the source material. And it would have been a decent game.

Okay so apparently Japan found some hidden deleted scenes in Star Wars and decided "Hey! Why don't we screw everyone up and put these in the game!"

And deleted scenes as in: Luke dyes his hair black,

They go on a bunch of different worlds,

Luke gets drunk and crashes in the cantina,

Darth Vader is an Animorph,

and to top it all off make Vader's saber a friggin' hidden blaster pistol!
