@guyarceus, um, I do have a Megadrive actually, and I think you may have misread what I wrote. I was criticising BillyCreation's rather silly attempt to pass off the Blue Spheres screen as an Anti-Piracy screen for Sonic 1, 2, etc. And yes, you can play Knuckles in Sonic 2, but that's basically a Sega created rom hack, rather like the fan created rom hack that allows you to play as Knuckles in Sonic 1 (albeit with a rather reduced palette for Knuckles, made out of the reds that were available).

@Knux95, do a google search for "knuckles in sonic 1". One of the first results should be for a page on the Sonic Retro website, which lets you download a wonderful fan-made rom, that will let you play as Knuckles in Sonic 1 :)
I get the confusion. Back when I searched for Sonic ROMs I found something called "Sonic bonus levels". I thought it was an interesting ROM hack or something so I tried it and saw this screen. 1st I thought it was a joke so I deleted the ROM and ignored it. Much later I read about that it was possible to play a mini game if you plugged in a game that wasn't S2 or S3 into S&K and I saw this screen in a screenshot and how to unlock the mini game. I was like OOPS and downloaded it again.

I used Kega Fusion, which I think is a good emulator. But nowadays, I play with the old school Sonic games in Sonic Mega Collection Plus on the PC.
FAKE, also Tails and Knuckles wouldn't be on the first game and Knuckles wouldn't be on the second game. Also, why would the Sonic 3 drums play on Sonic 1 and 2?

Hi BillyCreations! Next time you try to pass off something completely unrelated to piracy as "the Anti-Piracy screen" for Sonic 1, 2, and MBM... you should really remember that those games came out before Knuckles even existed. With Sonic 1, not even Tails existed then. And the Sonic and Knuckles logo in the background really doesn't help it be convincing, either.

@geekymarianne You dont have a genesis, do you? You can Put in sonic and knuckles in the genesis. and then sonic 2 on top of it. If you put sonic and knuckles, and then sonic 2 on top, geuss who you get to play? Sonic 1 just has blue sphere as the pallete of knuckles was not compatable with sonic 1.

@guyarceus, um, I do have a Megadrive actually, and I think you may have misread what I wrote. I was criticising BillyCreation's rather silly attempt to pass off the Blue Spheres screen as an Anti-Piracy screen for Sonic 1, 2, etc. And yes, you can play Knuckles in Sonic 2, but that's basically a Sega created rom hack, rather like the fan created rom hack that allows you to play as Knuckles in Sonic 1 (albeit with a rather reduced palette for Knuckles, made out of the reds that were available).

nah man you've either got some fucked up roms or it's a problem with your emulator. as everyone else has pointed out, this is the screen that comes up when you insert any game, other than the sonics, into the sonic & knuckles game cartridge.
nothing to do with piracy, i don't know where you got that idea.

@Knux95, do a google search for "knuckles in sonic 1". One of the first results should be for a page on the Sonic Retro website, which lets you download a wonderful fan-made rom, that will let you play as Knuckles in Sonic 1 :)

I get the confusion. Back when I searched for Sonic ROMs I found something called "Sonic bonus levels". I thought it was an interesting ROM hack or something so I tried it and saw this screen. 1st I thought it was a joke so I deleted the ROM and ignored it. Much later I read about that it was possible to play a mini game if you plugged in a game that wasn't S2 or S3 into S&K and I saw this screen in a screenshot and how to unlock the mini game. I was like OOPS and downloaded it again.

192 people actually know how to use a right emulator properly. I don't own a Genesis/Mega Drive either, but I still can play with any Sonic games on an emulator. I used Kega Fusion, which I think is a good emulator. But nowadays, I play with the old school Sonic games in Sonic Mega Collection Plus on the PC.
