  • sweet boots, ian! 8-D

  • then Ian does his best Freddie Mercury!

  • @tas27100 That was lame dude.

  • John Evan looks like early-80's Rob Halford

  • @tas27100 He looks awfull :)

  • the break beat on quizz kis is just sublime. Barriemore is one of the most apprpriate drummers ever. All his beats fit the music perfectly. I play minstral in the gallery for people who think Tull didnt contribute to the rise of heavy metal and hard rock. Barriemore was the first death metal drummer! LOL.. ok maybe not but I know many a HM drummer heard his stuff and got the itch.

  • best line up ever... glascock - barlow did the difference

  • que leyenda de banda, saludos desde youtube...la honorable sociedad

  • too old sounds like it has a little cat stevens influence

  • the 76 to 79/80 line up was great, shame it was so short lived, as was poor John Glascock of course

  • When Jethro Tull toured with this (album) they used a giant projection screen above the band showing the band perform live so those in the back of the concert could see, the top border of the screen read TULLAVISION...

  • Best band ever...thanks for posting. Great songs. I remember every Tull album that came out in the 70''s...with great excitement...

  • With the current reality show culture, this song is more relevant than ever.

  • Tull is the real world's band.

  • Dee palmer would have fit perfectly when the dudes are looking in the mirror putting the makeup on

  • What's with the vacuum cleaner at 3:54? lol!

  • I guess IA is being a Host of a quiz show and he rolled in the prizes..a vacuum being one of them

  • Met Ian, In Canada.

    Really a Pure Gent.

  • Excellent performer!

  • que buen bajo

  • the rock is not decent, the rock is passión and improvisation of senses...so this video is perfect, and The tulls are great all. Specially IAN Anderson

  • ian is smoking during crazed institution. ugh!

  • so what...? The smoke is on the water now....

  • Trash TALK DUDE

  • I love tull music but they never did put out a decent rock video

  • Epic!

  • awesome!

  • My favourite band. Listen to my "Wondrin´aloud" version.

  • Where's the rest of this TV special?!?

  • This song fits well for all those nowadays Led Spinal Tap fans.

  • pier

I didn't know you played keyboards.

  • i love JT but i hate playback.

  • I'm 18 years old now and since i started listening to Tull i wish i was born in the sixties... i could have been to tull concerts and know the band much better and... well, its just that now music is much worse

  • im going to see tull tommorrow in albany new york!

  • oh you're so lucky... last june they played 300 km from home and i wanted to go, but i had my last exams before university and i couldn't... i hope they come to spain again

  • Same here.

  • hey they still tour!

  • @Aqualung1989 The 70's was the best decade for music by far, and Jethro Tull topped them all. My first concert was right after this album, it was at Shea Stadium. Robin Trower opened for Tull. That was an amazing show.

  • @jethrodassam Me too..my first Tull concert was in may 76, Stockholm. I think it was the 24th..i have the ticket somewhere:) John Miles opened..Very loud, very good! One of my absolute top concerts:)

  • From the looks of this video, If Judas Priest ever needed a keyboard player, John Evan would be the man for the job! LMAO!!! This vid is so cool...

  • HaHa! Check out John Evan!

  • I'll have a pint of whatever he was drinking!! I bet he cringes when he watches this.

How cool does John Glascock look? Such a shame he died so young.

  • I love this mix better than the album's.

  • yes fantastic!

    must be me

  • No Masterpiece, but nonetheless, a highly underrated album, WHERAS, "Quizz Kid" all alone is in my Top Ten favoite Tull Songs. Really thrilled to find this. Thank You!

  • Marty playing a Telecaster? That's new to me...

Great video, anyway, and the album is one of the best from Tull.

  • Love this album! These songs, along wityh Taxi Grab, Pied Piper, and Big Dipper. Great music!

  • stop the fucking chain-messaging!!!!

  • Yes, that's Barlow . Double bass logo like Bunkers, but the drumming is classic Barry ! This is a fun video, showing the group having fun with all their silliness ! Can't get enough of this lineup !!

  • That looks like Mr Bunker on drums - it certainly doesn't look like Barriemore Barlow

  • I think it was Nigel Tufnel on guitar. hehheheh.. I keeed. I keeed because I love.

  • at 4:18 & 4:25 it looks like Barlow. check it out...certainly is Barlow in crazed institution.. He was my favorite drummer in all Tull line ups

  • "Too Old to Rock N Roll" is underrated IMO. It has all the Tull trademarks: musical richness and lots of time signature changes. Instead of putting out small snippets of old video archival material, Ian Anderson should put out Tull concerts in their entirety (and uninterrupted).

  • My God. What a phantastic video. Didn't know that there is such a thing around. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for the information about this album PaulHartXYZ. Wasn't Passion Play suppose to be a movie too? I read somewhere that Ian would drag dishwashers and kitchen appliances on stage while performing this song in concert. It must have been quite a show!

  • Yeah. The "TOO OLD TO ROCK n ROLL" album was an odd duckling.

When recorded in early '76, it was never meant to be a Tull album. It was supposed to be a theatrical MUSICAL!!!!

That's why this album doesn't fit in with the prog-rock sound of the previous albums (MINSTREL IN THE GALLERY and WARCHILD). And it doesn't fit in with the Old English Folk sound of the albums that followed it (SONGS FROM THE WOOD and HEAVY HORSES).

It was a unique album that stood on it's own.

  • Happy to see this. Haven't seen it since the seventies. Anybody know where to find a copy of the whole tv-special ?

  • These are wonderful ... but does anyone have video from "Minstrel in the Gallery"?

  • Stunning. That lineup was, IMHO, the best band ever.

  • Bizarre! Like discovering I've slipped into an alternate universe where my favorite band is now glam rock. I missed this brief period of Tull. Thanks for posting.

  • Nice one!!! Tull rules!!!

  • Thanks! This is one of my favorite Tull albums.

  • brilliant!!
