the break beat on quizz kis is just sublime. Barriemore is one of the most apprpriate drummers ever. All his beats fit the music perfectly. I play minstral in the gallery for people who think Tull didnt contribute to the rise of heavy metal and hard rock. Barriemore was the first death metal drummer! LOL.. ok maybe not but I know many a HM drummer heard his stuff and got the itch.
When Jethro Tull toured with this (album) they used a giant projection screen above the band showing the band perform live so those in the back of the concert could see, the top border of the screen read TULLAVISION...
the rock is not decent, the rock is passión and improvisation of senses...so this video is perfect, and The tulls are great all. Specially IAN Anderson

I'm 18 years old now and since i started listening to Tull i wish i was born in the sixties... i could have been to tull concerts and know the band much better and... well, its just that now music is much worse
oh you're so lucky... last june they played 300 km from home and i wanted to go, but i had my last exams before university and i couldn't... i hope they come to spain again
@Aqualung1989 The 70's was the best decade for music by far, and Jethro Tull topped them all. My first concert was right after this album, it was at Shea Stadium. Robin Trower opened for Tull. That was an amazing show.
@jethrodassam Me too..my first Tull concert was in may 76, Stockholm. I think it was the 24th..i have the ticket somewhere:) John Miles opened..Very loud, very good! One of my absolute top concerts:)
No Masterpiece, but nonetheless, a highly underrated album, WHERAS, "Quizz Kid" all alone is in my Top Ten favoite Tull Songs. Really thrilled to find this. Thank You!

Yes, that's Barlow . Double bass logo like Bunkers, but the drumming is classic Barry ! This is a fun video, showing the group having fun with all their silliness ! Can't get enough of this lineup !!
"Too Old to Rock N Roll" is underrated IMO. It has all the Tull trademarks: musical richness and lots of time signature changes. Instead of putting out small snippets of old video archival material, Ian Anderson should put out Tull concerts in their entirety (and uninterrupted).
Thanks for the information about this album PaulHartXYZ. Wasn't Passion Play suppose to be a movie too? I read somewhere that Ian would drag dishwashers and kitchen appliances on stage while performing this song in concert. It must have been quite a show!
Yeah. The "TOO OLD TO ROCK n ROLL" album was an odd duckling.
When recorded in early '76, it was never meant to be a Tull album. It was supposed to be a theatrical MUSICAL!!!!
That's why this album doesn't fit in with the prog-rock sound of the previous albums (MINSTREL IN THE GALLERY and WARCHILD). And it doesn't fit in with the Old English Folk sound of the albums that followed it (SONGS FROM THE WOOD and HEAVY HORSES).
Bizarre! Like discovering I've slipped into an alternate universe where my favorite band is now glam rock. I missed this brief period of Tull. Thanks for posting.
