  • "Maby I'm dating myself in time. I always LOVED when they were known as " CHICAGO

TRANSIT AUTHORITY." Still one of the perfect acts in my opinion.Peace & love hippie3375

  • Awesome!! Danny and Terry made the band...... Terry is still the man... relevant after all this time.... Thanks for posting!

  • Honestly.....Was there ever a better guitarist than that??????

  • @lczoid I really don't think there was!

  • Chicago did not lose its testicles as per photinia99, when Terry died the band lost its SOUL !

  • @killerDIRK1 And yet..the band played on. I sure hope Terry found the peace in death denied to him in life. Truly a musical genious who left us much too soon.

  • Urban legend has it when Hendrix saw Kath playing with Chicago at Whiskey A Go Go in late '69 he commented, "God, he's a better player than I am". See why at 3:24 in.

  • Love that horn section

  • As others have noted it just dosen't seem possible that Terry Kath is not on the many "Greatest Guitarist" lists. And that Chicago is not in the R&R HOF.

The great guitarist of his day paid massive complements to TK.

  • I have watched literally hundreds of clips of Chicago performing live (God bless YouTube), and I just realized that no matter how good or shitty the overall performance was, that not once, EVER, have I heard James Pankow play a sour note. That's one hell of a track record.

  • Two thumbs up for Terry Kath and Jimmy Trombone.

  • WHY ARE THESE GUYS NOT IN THE hall of fame?

  • Comment removed

  • I like how Jimmy keeps yelling "Yeah!" xD

  • Great God, what exciting footage. In addition to his legendary guitar work, I like Terry's vocals also.

  • when terry died a little piece of me died too

  • Thanks for posting this Terry We Miss You R.I. P.

  • Nobody absolutely nobody could compare to Terry Kath back in those days!! Jimmy Hendrick was quoted in saying that Terry was better than he was!! Do research my good friends!!

  • Andy Summers*

  • I agree, mfbinc. He should have been in top 5 if he were even in the list. They also left out George Harrison and Andy Summer

  • Terry Kath was a awesome musician.RIP Terry

  • "sinsagoodmansbrother" where have u been with this jewel? it's an incredible video angle shot & i'm in awe watching my favorite guitar player of all times! TERRY KATH & the original rock group CHiCAgO along w/ the original legendary GRAND FUNK RAiLROAD lives in my heart 4EVeR, cheers! x0]

  • Rare to see this performed in the extended suite version. Too bad they cut off the video before the song was over.

  • the bottom line is This band seriously went bad and could say it started dieing with the death or Terry Kath and lost its backbone. They rebounded with slower love songs with Cetera at the helm then he left and they fired Serafine that was it, this band now hasnt had anything good since Serafine left, except about 10 greatest hits albmus ...notice they all have Kath,Cetera and Serafine on them .The manager they have is an idiot. Disband ,then the band can go into musical lore as a great band

  • terry katz was the bob wills of his generation.

    combining rock and jazz.

he appreciates, encourages and pushes every band member to be a better player all the while conducting the band and doing his thing.

  • good playng, good singin, perfect brass section!

  • Rolling Stone mag left Terry Kath off of it's 100 greatest guitarists list....what a joke

  • @mfbinc These Rolling Stone lists have more to do with corporate financially successful commercial R&R than talent or abliity. Rolling Stones feeds off of the business of music and vice versa. Johnny Ramone is a better guitatarist than Terry Kath and Jose Feliciano? Jimi Hendrix is a better guitarist than Les Paul or Chet Atkins?

    Really?

  • @mfbinc Rolling Stone magazine isn't relevant in regards to anything except making money for its investors: anything of lasting value can't really be judged by magazine sales. Music that is timeless i appreciated because of its quality not because someone wants to push sales. As for Terry Kath, he's well remembered and cherished...

  • @mfbinc what do you say to a list that ranks Angus Young #96,Robbie Krieger#91,Eddie van Halen #70, but has Joan Jett & Joni Mitchell, yet does not have..not only the great Terry Kath, but no Stanley Jordan,no Alan Holdsworth, no Brent Mason, nor Randy Hansen,Mick Taylor,no Rick Derringer,or Brian Jones no Shawn Lane no Jan Anderson no Martin Barre (legendaryTull Guitarist)..do i need to go on? this list is so bogus on so many levels that i have not an ounce of respect for these trolls.

  • @MOSKII58 i actually think robbie krieger is underrated....but kath was the best

  • Now I gotta hunt down Colour my World because this ending felt unresolved....lol

  • @WilliamRayWalters Yeah, where's the rest of it?

  • I know Kath is more known for his guitar playing ability, but what an incredible voice this guy has. Growing up my dad (RIP) played original Chicago all the time and I didn't realize until years later that the lead singer was not a black guy. Listen, he sounds like a soulful powerful black singer. Amazing vocal ability.

  • Grew up with Terry, group practiced in basement. I'm 64 this takes away 40 plus years. THANK YOU!!!!

  • heard this song @ ocean city , md . as a teenager , had to get the album . heard 25 or 6 to 4 , ......wow ! 2 awesome lead singers & horns , r u kidding ? then california purples w/ bobby lamm on vocals , this is the best american band ever !

  • all of the too early deaths that have come along....Moon...Lennon...Stevie Ray...etc.....this is the one that hurt the most.....maybe cuz I was still young ..or maybe cuz I just loved this band.....after Terry's death the band just lost its ...its...I dunno....is testicles too strong a word?....is that even fair?

  • @photinia99 Yes, I think its fair... Terry Kath's Incredible playing and his excellent vocals were the very heart of this band... Chicago I & II were my favorites... If you love Chicago II, pick up the MultiChannel DVD Audio Disc... You won't be sorry... Trust Me...

  • @sinsagoodmansbrother Best Live one for sound quality & performance combined is Chicago Live in Japan 1972. Out of print & hard to find though except on Mp3s which I don't recommend for anyone who has a decent stereo system. "Live At Carnegie Hall" has some incredible performances but the sound leaves a lot to be desired. Also, all the people that like early Chicago should check out the band Chase. All three of their albums are now on one 2 disc set.

  • @sinsagoodmansbrother I have that,plus 15 albums.22 cds,LOVE this band since I was 8 in 1967,seen them live 32 times!

  • @sinsagoodmansbrother more than fair Terry was the heast & soul of this great band...what is the title of the dvd that you are recommending? is it a concert or just audio of their 2nd lp?

  • @MOSKII58 typo i meant "heart" sorry !

  • @sinsagoodmansbrother I say Terry was the soul of the band...That talent, that voice, definitely the soul!!

  • @sinsagoodmansbrother The best way I've heard it put is that when Terry died, Chicago lost its "soul".... That always made sense to me. My older brother told me this years ago.

  • @photinia99 Amazing song. Chicago was really never the same after Terry passed away

  • @photinia99 Terry aka The VOICE.

  • Frankly I disagree, some of Chicago's best and money making hits came after Terry Kath's death. The death that destroyed the music world was John Lennon-no question about this! Yankees545454

  • @photinia99 It's called, "Gun disease" and it seems that practically all celebrities - musicians, actors, ball players, these days must succumb to it - they just can't help themselves, or, to put it the way when I was young - "they just can't stand success." Too bad, but that's just the way it is. Too much too soon.

  • The sound quality is great on this for such an old video. Its great to watch Terry Kath's performance. He really had soul.

  • Love this song... like some of Cetera's vocals/songs too. Just prefer the stronger, deeper male voice.

  • absolutely perfect. Love the new camera angles. A total treasure, nice to see some new Terry Kath footage so long after this was done.

  • @HRHSheeba Thanks for the comments... I think I have some more from this show?... I'll try to post them If I can finf them...

  • @sinsagoodmansbrother

Please post more of this concert, if you can. I simply adore the original 7 guys together in Chicago. Terry Kath was a brilliant musician, love his voice.

  • @sinsagoodmansbrother /concerning Chicago Terry Kath,Make Me Smile, I agree with you ,great sound, and unbelievable video clarity. too bad theres not much more to go around with the original band, not the new clowns doing all the greatest hits .

  • Terry was an amazing guitarist and vocalist....we miss and love you Terry...I'll take this music anytime over the new stuff of today.....

  • @jthoen61 Amen... Me too... love this album Chicago II. Very energetic playing and just a great, great album... Make me smile, fancy colors, 25 or 6 to 4 etc... Thanks for the comments!

  • WOW>>>>> HOLD ON .... COUSIN IT IS ALSO A MUSICIAN???? KICK ASS!!

  • Comment removed

  • Damn - they just don't make music like this any more - I know I sound like an old fart but I'm right. I've always wanted to cover this song. This guy is born to rock. Look how much fun he is having.

  • Awesome!Really clean footage thanks for posting it...Terry Rocks!

  • Terry Kath, Pete Cetera, and Danny serafine back when Chicago was a great band, then some idiot exec said listen to the idiot singer from California who tried to take over, sure they did Look aqay, but Chicago fans were starving for something, since then the three founding members no longer want to come back kath cant, ...and the idiot manager of the band can only keep saying lets make another greatest hits, I think their onthe 15th ghits .all with Kath,Cetera,Serafine....get the point?

  • Glad you enjoyed it... One of my favorite albums... I remember getting this LP when I was around 14 years old... Great material, Great music & Great, Great guitar playing... When I found this video, I just had to post it...

  • Wow how did you come up with this footage? Thanks for posting.

  • Great different camera view..........great sound.......thanks for posting.

  • Me three
