  • Indeed check out the guys from Morehouse. The Morehouse Glee Club guys did this song and they were awesome.

  • I'm honestly offended. Riding in a hurray? Is that how you interpret negro spirituals? I'm sure the negros could atleast pronounce hurry.

  • Can anyone tell me where I could find this song? I haven't heard it in ages and would like to teach it to a group I have.

  • too fast

if you were driving steel i can assure you, it wouldn't be THIS fast!

  • Check out the group of individuals from Morehouse who sang this song. They do a pretty good job!

  • I love the 2nd tenor's entrance at 0:19.

  • I've never heard it done with a men's choir before. My school's vocal ensemble did this with a fairly balanced class of both men and women. It was absolutely beautiful.

  • As far as spirituals are concerned, this is a work song and the tempo determines the tempo of the slaves' work. So it makes sense to have a faster tempo. But perhaps the tempo could be a tad slower just for diction sake.

  • my choir did this song last semester and the tempo is supposed to be taken slower

  • Amen

  • its supposed to be fast. my choir is doing this song now the tempo they have is jsut right
