It's not that hard to understand Carly, Jason understands that if he was not there to fix her crap she would have no one. No one else would care, Jason because he is Jason cares.
The question is why does he care - because its obvious he can switch that shit off just like That (poor Sam). You can choose to ignore all the times Jason has said he values Carly - That he loves her - etc.. or you can except that while Carly is over the top for most people...Jason wants/needs her in his life. He personally chooses to have Carly in his world and having known her as well as he does - you can't say he doesn't konw what that entails...
Even if Jase told Carly "he never wanted to see her again and to go jump off a cliff" do you really think Carly would listen. This scene is a perfect example of that, Carly did not listen to a word Jase said, she wanted Jase in her life. the Jarly "friendship" is all about Carly, Jase was willing to not see her anymore when Sonny signed over the papers for Michael/Morgan, she told Sonny that her kids were not safe around him, but Jase (the new mob boss) was an exception.
He also said the same thing to Liz more or less when he ended things with her. Liason fans seem to want to ignore that and get them together anyways. They claim jase is just trying to do the right thing for those he cares about and should just follow his heart and keep those he loves around him. If thats the trian of thought we are working with then his reasons for trying to cut Carly off were the same. People Need to stop the double standard.

Carly was totally in the wrong..She she hurt Jason, then crawled after him, & Liz had every right to her off..if anyone's brother/sister, now it's Carly/Jason..They will never be a couple again..LOL Jason & Liz are parents, game over..
