  • Good stuff Simon. I made my own 8ele (70cm) 4ele (2m) crossed yagi, and that works really well. Keep the excellent videos coming! 73 - Rob VK2GOM / G0MOH

  • Tnx Rob,

I love home brewing ants! I also made a 8/4 Ele Crossed yagi using welding wire, it works great. I was out today using the video set up working the Sat's and having fun.

73 have fun working the "birds"

  • Tried a 20 metre dipole before home made I love wires simon they work great and cost nothing.

73's for now catch you again soon!

  • Hey Simon, was just looking around youtube and decided to type in the callsign of the contest group I go out with from time to time and up they pop on one of your videos. I should be down in JO01PU @ G0VHF/P again tomorrow for the March 144/432 contest. Give us a shout if you hear us. They guy you were speaking to the day this video was shot was John G4ZTR. When was the video taken out of interest?

  • Hi Mark, the video was made back in September 08 and I hope to hear you over the weekend during the 144/432 VHFCC. I will be in my shack (at 1000ft asl) this time keeping warm ;-)

    Good luck in the contest.

  • Nice video once again Simon, home made antennas give you more satisfaction when you work something on them knowing that you made the antenna yourself. I make my own dipoles for now ive made a quad for 2 metres before which worked really well.

    73's my mate!
