Yah bless you, I pray that every who believe in eternal torment and watches this video is touched and changes from teaching such a evil and un-loving and un-Godly doctrine.
I think that when people go to Hell.. they just don't exist anymore. God has given us life but He can also take it away. And think about this.. just NOT existing anymore.. isn't that eternal torment? I believe so. But the thing is.. when people think about Hell.. they mostly imagine people being tortured by demons. The Bible never said that!
Remember Ezekiel 18:4,20, It says The SOUL that SINNETH it shall DIE. The eternal torment doctrine was taught in the dark ages to scare people into giving money into the catholic coffers.
@FreakZilla34 many false doctrines came from the pagan roman catholic church, and sadly she has made the nations drink the wine of her fornication (false doctrines that go against the true gospel of Christ). mystery babylon the great, mother of all harlots and abominations. Fear God and give glory to him, for the time of his judgment draws near. Repent and obey the gospel of Christ Jesus. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.
... of course there is a hell. Of course that same hell is destroyed in the lake of fire (see above) ... Of course the damned abide in death (not life.)
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God DOES NOT HAVE LIFE.
Pastors, preachers and church-goers that say that the damned have eternal life should quit making Jesus out to be a liar, and reform their ways into agreement with what Jesus said. Eternal life is found in Him, and no place else. He who has the Son has life and He who has not the Son has not life. Amen. All scriptures agree with the Lord. It is only man's corrupt doctrine that confuses what is plain to see. The damned do not have immortality or eternal anything; they inherit death. THE END.
So what do you do with scriptures that clearly say you will be cast into ETERNAL fire, cut them out? Hell is a very real place, and it grieves me that this has crept into the church. Its false and deception really is ramped these days. You were created to live eternally SOMEWHERE. You die,, then the judgment, then heaven or hell, period.
We have a monument in Dallas that has an "eternal flame". If I put the blade of grass into the eternal flame, does the blade of grass become eternal OR is the blade destroyed?
"You shall surely not die" ~ the snake
"The soul that sins shall die" ~ the LORD God
Wide is the path that leads to _______?
Are there any left that know how to fill in the blank? Luthur, Calvin, Tyndale and the great reformers hated the Catholic doctrines of eternal torment and so do I.
@Flamingredrose9 the fire is eternal because it is the LORD himself, he is a consuming fire and he cannot be quenched. In flaming fire taking vengeance upon those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Sodom and Gomorrah also suffered the vengeance of eternal fire, yet they are a pile of ashes, lifeless, to this day, with no fire there. They are the example of what happens to people who live wicked lives full of sin. to live in "hell" would be eternal life still, just horrible.
@Flamingredrose9 the fire is eternal, but not the soul's that are cast in. Read Revelation 21:8 with an OPEN mind, not skewed with doctrine. Clearly the Lord says that they shall be cast into the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, "this is the second DEATH" They have already died the 1st death, and at the judgment, are damned to the 2nd death... not tossed in to suffer burning forever and ever! DEATH
Are you saying that Jesus was being deceitful when he told the story about a man being conscienctiously tormented by a flame? Why would he talk about a man suffering in such a place if it wasn't true?
6. He was also a literal son of Abraham, while Eleazar (Lazarus) was not!
7. The Rich Man (Judah) also had the kingship (purple) and the priesthood (linen).
8. Yet Judah (representing God on this earth) was not the true steward of the Abrahamic blessings.
9. Though he and his literal brothers had been graced with the "oracles of God" (the Old Testament) they would not respond to the One resurrected from the dead (Christ).
10. The "great gulf" was the Jordan rift valley the dividing line between Gentile lands and the Holyland of promise (Abrahams inheritance). Crossing the Jordan was a typical figure recognized by the Jews as a symbol of salvation.
The points in the PARABLE (with its context) fit perfectly to give us some simple but profound teachings of Christ. It shows that the physical promises of God (though excellent) are inferior to the spiritual redemption that anyone (Jew or Gentile) can have in Christ
Thanks for your response. WOW! I would have never come up with any of this just by reading the bible alone. This is definitely something you have to be taught. So at what point do you stop symbolizing the word of God and start reading it literally?
I do not believe this is a parable, I believe this is a true story. Abraham is really alive somewhere and Lazarus was really carried by angels into his bosom
@shoelatchet the rich man and lazarus is a parable, just like all the other parables Jesus taught, not meant to be taken literally but figuratively. I would ask all who believe Jesus Christ took their punishment upon himself, what is their punishment? Eternal torment in a fiery place, or Death? If the punishment is dantes inferno (hell), no one would ever be fully punished, nor would Jesus have satisfied it by his atoning death on the cross. the resurrection also is meaningless if that were true
Luke 16:19-31 is a parable about the KINGDOM, not about the afterlife. In fact, I can't think of any parables about the afterlife .. .maybe someone can think of one that I forgot.
what about the verse in luke 16-24 then he cried out and said father abraham, have mercy on me and send lazarath that he may dip his finger in water and cool my tongue for I am tormented in this flame.
There is a great video on Youtube @ /watch?v=iMPHAD-HKGM
Which sheds enormous light on the whole Lazarus parable in Luke 16. It is amazing to see all the aspects of that parable laid out. It truly is applicable in this life not really even about the afterlife once you see it. I like that video, but I don't know the author at all. However I think you will like the video if the Lazarus parable is of interest.
Hey Trent. I have never heard of this before in mainstream Christianity. I will pray and read more carefully what you have shared. I have often felt terrible for the lost. That many are not bad morally and some are more moral than Christians. I really hope you are right. The example that comes to mind is the parable about the rich man and Lazarus. Can you explain that? Both were conscious but one was in torment and the other in paradise. Have you done any vids on the doctrine of election?

@Jasper50 the truth will set you free. my mind was in bondage over the false doctrine of dantes inferno (hell). but nonetheless, you should still grieve for the lost and tell them the gospel, although they do not get punished in a fiery place called hell, they will drink the full cup of Gods wrath. it will be horrible. and they will suffer punishment for their sins. but lead them to the great shepherd Jesus Christ before it is too late. pray for all the lost, never stop. God Bless you all.

Then death and HELL were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second DEATH.
Revelation 20:14
... of course there is a hell. Of course that same hell is destroyed in the lake of fire (see above) ... Of course the damned abide in death (not life.)

1 John 5:12
The "absence of life" is the very definition of "death." ... lets not make up fake / novel definitions that do not hold water, ok?

Do you think Jesus lied?

No.
1. The Lazarus of the parable was Eleazar, Abrahams steward (Genesis 15:2).
2. He was a Gentile "of Damascus" ("a proselyte of the gate") who "ate the crumbs."
3. He was disinherited (to become a beggar) but he remained faithful to Abraham and God.
4. When this earthly life was over, he received Abrahams inheritance after all (he was in Abrahams bosom) — in "everlasting habitations."
5. The Rich Man of the Parable was Judah. This son of Jacob had five literal brothers as did the Rich Man
