@mrceebees14 What an enlightened comment! I'm sure you must be aware of the extinct & endangered animals on all continents. Also, given that Australia was settled by Europeans who brought their farming techniques you should perhaps realign your trolling sight before taking aim.
Stupid Humans! They killed them cz they thought they were useless animals! I say! humans are useless! they only came to live to destroy everything around them!
Finally- A fellow thylacine lover. This is my absolute favorite animal. It's a shame that they were hunted to extinction. Sadly, the last thylacine was said to have died in 1936, but I believe otherwise.
Contrary to popular belief, I believe that thylacines, also known as tasmanian tigers, still roam the unexplored areas of Australia and Tasmania, due to reported, but unconfirmed sightings since the last of the species was rumored to have expired.
@Saraluvspets I believe that too, that the 'last' one did not die in 1936. There's a lot of areas in Tasmania that humans cannot access and this most likely were they are. I have a feeling that Australian government knows more than they care to admit about the survival of this species
What are you kidding me you people act like we havnt figured out how to clone animals they just went extinct like 70 years ago you think they dont have a DNA sample somwhere i doubt they wouldnt

no spaces for the link, this is just their wiki page, don't be shy, do some more research there are more detailed articles about these cool at times upright walking apes that get up to 6.5 ft. and it looks like i was wrong, they have caught some after all.
@Twiztidninjas i feel it could be either way. Steve Irwin did claim to have seen one,and he really knew animals and wildlife ect. IF they are still around they could be what is called 'functionally extinct' meaning there COULD still be a few out there, but not enough to sustain a population, this is the case with the Hawaiian Crow. But then again you would have thought that they would have caught one by now too.....guess even steve Irwin could have made a mistake
@balto4 If Thylacinus species are still surviving in Tasmania (it is believed southern Tasmania, where there is little human civilization) now, they would have survived in the wild since early 1930's which would suggest their population has adequate genetic diversity to sustain itself. Though, of course, effects of inbreeding will arise eventually as their population would be so limited. Nice pictures, by the way.
@balto4 He did? I'd be interested in seeing this, if there's any video or anything of him saying that - he is a man whos testimony I wouldn't disbelieve for a second - and the man knew his wildlife, yeah, so it is far less likely (though still possible) that he would make a mistake - especially with an animal as easily identified as a Thylacine - it would be hard to mistake it for a dog or fox if you have ever seen one- the proportions are all wrong, especially the long head.
@sonbuhitsunei He actually did an episode where he was searching for the Thylacine on Crocodile Hunter, and unfortunately due to copy rights it is no longer on youtube, though it was at one point. @Twiztidninjas thats a bit naive large animals can easily avoid human detection. a new large animal is found every few years and not always captured, like the newly found species of 6ft+ tall chimp like ape in africa. they have been known to locals for ever but western scientist called it bull shit until they were caught on film recently, they have been yet to be caught yet are recognized now.they say there's no such thing as bigfoot but i've seen them up close, up to 10ft away from me clearly.
@Twiztidninjas Not necessarily...even when they were around, people often went their entire lives without seeing one - they were highly elusive then, and when a species is targeted by mankind, the response is often that the survivors become even more weary of man - so they would be nearly impossible to find. Let's not forget that Tasmania, small as it may be, is actually still largely unexplored over much of its forested areas.

@LordEli Quite funny because most of my friends are extreme christians, and they pointed that out to me that 'animals are here for us to eat' and 'that's why God had put them there'. It is a verse in the bible, which goes against vegetarianism. And yes, there is wrong with murdering animals for food. And I also noticed you completely ignored the Crusades fact I pointed out. Which is proof that christians have done evil things in the past as well as atheists.
@TheOneWingedBird You need to research more on the background on he Crusade's before you say it was a Religious war turd. you'd find it was again politics using religious folk to breach their ends. had nothing to do Christianity learn somethin kiddo
@LordEli you religious fuckwits will be the death of us all. There is no imaginary friend in the sky who is going to come back and fix everything up. If we can't get our shit together we too will become extinct.
@boob72 No no no you got it all wrong Ho. its you Morons who belong to the ATHEIST RELIGION! That's gonna be the death of us all! It's funny to me when you retards say religion as if its a bad thing. did you the meaning of Religion, Religious, Religiously all pertain to activiies and Act in which we do every day. like habbit or hobby.. as in He plays Basket ball religiously. or the Faggot recants evolution and atheist life style with his religious conviction. Atheism is a religion as baseball
@KtwMjsuperfan Have youe ver given any thought as to why you have a fear of spiders? I've said that most people whom have irrational fears. and thats what they are. Are reliving a past life experience in which how they died. Some people was Mice/Rats etc. via the plague. Some is drowning water.. some sharks. all kinds of irrational things which they have relatively no risk of dying by when they Not at any risk of such exposer.. Think about it,.,.born with it right?
@KtwMjsuperfan How many Ants have you sqashed, Spiders.. Flies etc? How many mouse traps. Cockroaches etc. Consider your hatred and lack of respect for other life before you go into denial
@KtwMjsuperfan Don't be ridiculous look how many Christian'sand Jew's Atheist killed. Hitler, Stalin etc. Million's son Millions. Athiests kill and maim everything in their path. because you all fele that it is your right. No consequences to your actions. That's what you believe
@FatRedneckTerrorist Hey man, you can't just blame us for having white colored skin! It was the Australian government that killed them, not us! Go get your facts strait before you start accusin'
The Tas Tigers are still out there, people see them all the time on their way to work and school, but all the scientists are just too lazy to go and prove it.
If so, i believe no animal can certainly be approved extinct. There is a theroy to all but not everything is proven, there may be a world undiscovered with these same animals unknown to the world its self nobody can ever know
@jam22982 Yea its weird.I read on Wikipedia(if you can trust some of the stuff it has) that in times of danger the female could close that pouch,I guess like squeezing it shut with muscles so it could run and get away from danger without loosing a "pup"?
@jam22982 Actually most marsupials have their pouch facing backwards, since they walk on all fours, that way the pouch is more protected from dirt and such.
@restlesspride666 You poor dumb kid. You don't know a damn thing about Christian's if you did you'd realize how ridiculous your hate is ha ha. And you would then never associate them when the Likes of me. :-D. Christian's are your savior's kid. I am the destroyer. HA HA
We will almost certainly fail at cloning the thylcine as there is only one known thylacine embryo(which might have been persevered well enough ) to clone form.
if we wanted to, we can rebuild them....we have the technology to clone them and many other animals. all we need is a flesh sample of something that carries DNA traits.
@TheGarcia350 Cloning is actually rather complicated-they actually did try cloning them close to ten years ago,but had to stop due to lack of funds and failures. It's not even easy to clone living animals, let alone long dead ones. first the DNA is dead, and they have to re-start it.The second thing is it has deteriorated over the decades. It could happen one day and I'd be all for it-but we have to fine tune it first before we can move forward
@balto4 well no matter the success or failure, these cloned animals could and probably will be DANGEROUS. i mean seriously, if science was just that advanced to have 100/100 in every chance, we would be having dinosaurs roaming around, leading to our extinction if they were just that dominant at the time. so like i said if we wanted to, we can. we can but we won't as it can be disturbing the current nature of the world.
@TheGarcia350 We may B SUPPOSED 2 clone some Animals. After all we were ordered to replentish the Earth. Getting back species can be part of that. Our fault this 1's gone. Many are like that. This 1 not particurlarly dangerous. Not even many Dinos. " Not a Sparrow falls apart from the Father" & Heaven is a 1500 mile cube we likely build ourselves & time circles. (Science fulfills Faith) Dinos are Birds so will be 60 million yrs of them there! & We WILL get THIS back! :) Just need practice.
@jabrightlefthook I'm not quite sure whether you are trying to be a clown or just asking out of the blue. Yes that movie is nice, but NO if I would NOT want to see them roaming in my backyard or research lab.
@TheGarcia350 I believe its possible just might take a decade or two for the technology to cheap enough for it to be practical to do it. Not to mention get through all the people who think Genetic Engineering and cloning are wrong (I am not one of those. As long as its monitored closely I think its fine)
@BananaBoyL337 thats what you think. tell me, WHO is funding science? the government. what is the government good at? lying to people and war. You believe it as "oh lets bring back the mammoth back from extinction" yea sure they'll do that, then they'll shroud that experience secretly into the next big thing in cloning, HUMANS. Trust me, cloning is a big NO NO taboo. its all ready on the wrong hands. nothing in science published to public media is for good purposes.
@TheGarcia350 I wouldn't worry about any of that. Any animals we clone would lack the genetic diversity to breed successfully. Look up "functionally extinct."
Also, DNA deteriorates rapidly. Even with future technology, it is unlikely dinosaur DNA would remain intact to create clones. Since Thylacines are recently extinct, it may be possible to clone them. The best sources of DNA would be the museum embryos pickled in alcohol and DNA material found inside the teeth of museum specimens.
@balto4 In 2008 and 2009 scientists successfully recreated a Thylacine genome from a 100 year old skin, we could possibly have a new population in 10-20 years
@TheCindy822 oh wow how convenient....my last discussion's gone....that was my argument with someone else. and no i highly doubt cloning these will eat us. i've seen vids of old recordings of these beautiful once-existed animals. :P
@TheGarcia350 We can't clone. There has never been a successful cloning. The animals die early because they are filled with disease and they're made all wrong.
@sunonthewindow Actually Dolly, the sheep was 6 years old when she died. That's not as long as sheep can live but I wouldn't say she died early.
But agree that cloning is not as easy as TheGarcia350 make it. There where100s of failures before Dolly was created and even more failures after. There still needs a lot of research in cloning before we can move on and recreate extinct animals.
@Minimanta2 Sure Dolly was a cloning success but she still died of cloning-related illness. Imagine how much more difficult cloning an extinct animal would be compared to a sheep. And then there's the moral question that is brought to light every time.
@TheGarcia350 That is in error, SIMILAR species are not the same, ditto for trying to recreate the Quagga- it's NOT the same animal even if externally to the eye it looks like it.
We dont even have habit for EXISTING animals- the human plague destroying this planet and ecosystem is destroying forests and habitat at a record pace, they couldnt even find suitable land to reintroduce WOLVES anywhere but Yellowstone
@NativePrairieWolf Then explain how life started. everything was made up by one thing and then evolved into different branches. my error was that i didn't say the sample of thylance DNA being it a bone fragment or even hair.
@TheGarcia350 youve been watching too much Jurassic Park, we have no idea about the exact DNA makeup of a long extinct animal like this, and giving the false impression that we can just let species go extinct because we can ALWAYS just recreate them at will is not only bad science its a dangerous idea to postulate to the gullable public
Just because an animal may LOOK like a quagga on the surface doesnt MAKE it one!
@TheGarcia350 "Virtually wiped out in the wild due to constant hunting (they were thought to be a threat to sheep and other small farm animals) and the encroachment of humans on their already limited habitat the Thylacine was finally recognized as being in danger of becoming extinct in 1936, too little, too late as that same year the last Thylacine, named Benjamin, died on 7 September as the result of neglect"
===
Think ANYTHING has changed since? were STILL slaughtering wolves & coyotes!
@NativePrairieWolf they were not thought to be a threat they WERE threat ( im not defending the farmers , but they killed these animals because they did harm their sheep and animals) , I hate people like you who will do anything and even lie to proof these carnivores didn't do anything :/
@dcwcwcw I never said they werent a "threat", but a "threat" doesnt justify MASS SLAUGHTER AND EXTINCTION to protect some damn sheep and cows the farmers were going to KILL ANYWAY.
It comes down to taking personal responsibility for your own property ON your own property, it means you fence, monitor, watch, guard your property, not destroy everything AROUND it so you can sit your lazy ass down while your cattle roam 5 miles down the hillside alone for months.
@dcwcwcw so what if they were a threat? lions are a threat, tigers are a threat, hell even dogs are threats. you saying we should slaughter all these animals aswell?
@HuasoPodrido LOL oh I didn't mean that Passenger Pigeons were alive,I meant my area was one of the last places they lived. The only ones i have seen were in Museums
Such amazing animals, I really hope they're still out there, or they can be bought back sometime in thye future.. I would give anything to see Australia's only tiger walk again.
As I`am born in Aus I feel much respect for the land , indegionous people and animals. I believe the stupid govenors of Tasmania where greedy and gave the freedom to unrightous pouchers to kill the tigers, the goverment was to gain threw taxes from both the sheep and tigerskin profits. Oh yeah and at the last minute call off the hunt to look good and say ah we tried to stop it. The tas tigers are one of the best aussie animals.
@MrSilkydrew I hate bounties on animals,it's just legalized extinctions IMO They are now doing in Alaska with wolves. People are greedy even when there is no just cause to kill the animal other than to make profit. The ONLY reason they called off the bounty on the Tassie Tiger too was greed zoos wanted them on display and in those days zoos had no effort for conservation but to entertain
@swallowedwholeup Yes balenced hunting is one thing, but over kill is another. I think if they control it but killing off only an X number of animals it works out, they did not do that with the Thylacine, just killed everyone that they could
if i can afford if my buissness goes right, i WILL fund a leagle/ileagle cloning project of these animals, cloning dolly the sheep took 276 attempts, if i succed i plan to re populate austrailia, less chance of them being discoverd there so theres no trace of me =] btw this is highly unlikly but i hope i can fund this!
@ssaamm2k9 so do I! Thylacines are my favorite animal:) thats why I looked all over the web to buy the cool stuffed one I have. I made a vid of it if you wanna see it.
A could somebody tell me what family did this animal belong to it seems like a dog with a possum like tail but then again it has sum cat like features this is tripin me out cause sumbody told me that a hyena is more in a cat family den a dog I must of have argurued them down foe sayin that but cum to find out its true but a hyena cant mate wit a cat are a dog so its in its on class i guess this animal is the same i need to get my knowledge up
also considered the animal that the dingo replaced on the food chain cycle, dingoes slowly being replaced by foxes (or so i'm told by a dingo caretaker in australia)
@vampirebatlord4ever I think dingoes are pretty much the top predator on mainland Australia,so they do keep foxes and feral cats in check as well as rabbits
my favorite deep sea animal is the fucking mantis shrimp
THEY'RE NEITHER SHRIMP NOR MANTIDS, THEY'RE JUST THAT FUCKING SPECIAL.

@jam22982 Actually most marsupials have their pouch facing backwards, since they walk on all fours, that way the pouch is more protected from dirt and such.

if we wanted to, we can rebuild them....we have the technology to clone them and many other animals. all we need is a flesh sample of something that carries DNA traits.
TheGarcia350 1 year ago 7
@TheGarcia350 Cloning is actually rather complicated-they actually did try cloning them close to ten years ago,but had to stop due to lack of funds and failures. It's not even easy to clone living animals, let alone long dead ones. first the DNA is dead, and they have to re-start it.The second thing is it has deteriorated over the decades. It could happen one day and I'd be all for it-but we have to fine tune it first before we can move forward
balto4 1 year ago 2
@balto4 well no matter the success or failure, these cloned animals could and probably will be DANGEROUS. i mean seriously, if science was just that advanced to have 100/100 in every chance, we would be having dinosaurs roaming around, leading to our extinction if they were just that dominant at the time. so like i said if we wanted to, we can. we can but we won't as it can be disturbing the current nature of the world.
TheGarcia350 1 year ago

@TheGarcia350 We may B SUPPOSED 2 clone some Animals. After all we were ordered to replentish the Earth. Getting back species can be part of that. Our fault this 1's gone. Many are like that. This 1 not particurlarly dangerous. Not even many Dinos. " Not a Sparrow falls apart from the Father" & Heaven is a 1500 mile cube we likely build ourselves & time circles. (Science fulfills Faith) Dinos are Birds so will be 60 million yrs of them there! & We WILL get THIS back! :) Just need practice.

@TheGarcia350 no i wasnt trying to be a clown i was just asking a question .it seems you enjoy jurassic park
jabrightlefthook 1 year ago
@TheGarcia350 I believe its possible just might take a decade or two for the technology to cheap enough for it to be practical to do it. Not to mention get through all the people who think Genetic Engineering and cloning are wrong (I am not one of those. As long as its monitored closely I think its fine)
BananaBoyL337 1 year ago
@BananaBoyL337 thats what you think. tell me, WHO is funding science? the government. what is the government good at? lying to people and war. You believe it as "oh lets bring back the mammoth back from extinction" yea sure they'll do that, then they'll shroud that experience secretly into the next big thing in cloning, HUMANS. Trust me, cloning is a big NO NO taboo. its all ready on the wrong hands. nothing in science published to public media is for good purposes.

@TheGarcia350 I must terrify you :D
restlesspride666 9 months ago
@TheGarcia350 I wouldn't worry about any of that. Any animals we clone would lack the genetic diversity to breed successfully. Look up "functionally extinct."
Also, DNA deteriorates rapidly. Even with future technology, it is unlikely dinosaur DNA would remain intact to create clones. Since Thylacines are recently extinct, it may be possible to clone them. The best sources of DNA would be the museum embryos pickled in alcohol and DNA material found inside the teeth of museum specimens.

TheGarcia350 5 months ago
@TheGarcia350 We can't clone. There has never been a successful cloning. The animals die early because they are filled with disease and they're made all wrong.
sunonthewindow 5 months ago
@sunonthewindow a sheep got cloned and was a success? lol
cookiesandmilkvids 5 months ago
@cookiesandmilkvids no. it died early because of issues surrounding cloning. even more lol
sunonthewindow 5 months ago
@sunonthewindow Actually Dolly, the sheep was 6 years old when she died. That's not as long as sheep can live but I wouldn't say she died early.
But agree that cloning is not as easy as TheGarcia350 make it. There where100s of failures before Dolly was created and even more failures after. There still needs a lot of research in cloning before we can move on and recreate extinct animals.
Minimanta2 5 months ago
@Minimanta2 Sure Dolly was a cloning success but she still died of cloning-related illness. Imagine how much more difficult cloning an extinct animal would be compared to a sheep. And then there's the moral question that is brought to light every time.
sunonthewindow 5 months ago
@TheGarcia350 That is in error, SIMILAR species are not the same, ditto for trying to recreate the Quagga- it's NOT the same animal even if externally to the eye it looks like it.
We dont even have habit for EXISTING animals- the human plague destroying this planet and ecosystem is destroying forests and habitat at a record pace, they couldnt even find suitable land to reintroduce WOLVES anywhere but Yellowstone
NativePrairieWolf 4 months ago
@NativePrairieWolf Then explain how life started. everything was made up by one thing and then evolved into different branches. my error was that i didn't say the sample of thylance DNA being it a bone fragment or even hair.
TheGarcia350 4 months ago
@TheGarcia350 youve been watching too much Jurassic Park, we have no idea about the exact DNA makeup of a long extinct animal like this, and giving the false impression that we can just let species go extinct because we can ALWAYS just recreate them at will is not only bad science its a dangerous idea to postulate to the gullable public
Just because an animal may LOOK like a quagga on the surface doesnt MAKE it one!
Genetics is 50% of each mate
NativePrairieWolf 4 months ago
@TheGarcia350 "Virtually wiped out in the wild due to constant hunting (they were thought to be a threat to sheep and other small farm animals) and the encroachment of humans on their already limited habitat the Thylacine was finally recognized as being in danger of becoming extinct in 1936, too little, too late as that same year the last Thylacine, named Benjamin, died on 7 September as the result of neglect"
===
Think ANYTHING has changed since? were STILL slaughtering wolves & coyotes!
NativePrairieWolf 4 months ago 12
@NativePrairieWolf Actually they we're put on the extinct list in 1933, but still it was too late.
amionutube 3 weeks ago
@NativePrairieWolf they were not thought to be a threat they WERE threat ( im not defending the farmers , but they killed these animals because they did harm their sheep and animals) , I hate people like you who will do anything and even lie to proof these carnivores didn't do anything :/
dcwcwcw 3 weeks ago
@dcwcwcw I never said they werent a "threat", but a "threat" doesnt justify MASS SLAUGHTER AND EXTINCTION to protect some damn sheep and cows the farmers were going to KILL ANYWAY.
It comes down to taking personal responsibility for your own property ON your own property, it means you fence, monitor, watch, guard your property, not destroy everything AROUND it so you can sit your lazy ass down while your cattle roam 5 miles down the hillside alone for months.
NativePrairieWolf 3 weeks ago
@dcwcwcw so what if they were a threat? lions are a threat, tigers are a threat, hell even dogs are threats. you saying we should slaughter all these animals aswell?

As I`am born in Aus I feel much respect for the land , indegionous people and animals. I believe the stupid govenors of Tasmania where greedy and gave the freedom to unrightous pouchers to kill the tigers, the goverment was to gain threw taxes from both the sheep and tigerskin profits. Oh yeah and at the last minute call off the hunt to look good and say ah we tried to stop it. The tas tigers are one of the best aussie animals.
MrSilkydrew 1 year ago 13
@MrSilkydrew I hate bounties on animals,it's just legalized extinctions IMO They are now doing in Alaska with wolves. People are greedy even when there is no just cause to kill the animal other than to make profit. The ONLY reason they called off the bounty on the Tassie Tiger too was greed zoos wanted them on display and in those days zoos had no effort for conservation but to entertain
balto4 1 year ago
@balto4
Actually, they called the wolf hunt off.
The hunts are meant to f balance the population ratio of carabou and wolves.
But people are stupid and over hunt. They forced the wolf back on the endangered list this time!
swallowedwholeup 1 year ago
@swallowedwholeup Yes balenced hunting is one thing, but over kill is another. I think if they control it but killing off only an X number of animals it works out, they did not do that with the Thylacine, just killed everyone that they could
