The originals ong was cool, but never one of my Björk favourites; I'm a big Björk fan and some of her songs move me deeply, but this one didn't do it for me.
some songs are so perfectly done by the original artist that they cannot be done with the same feeling or are able to evoke the same feeling in the listener when done by anyone else... unless you happen to be this group of kids. amazing job!!
one of the most beautiful things i've ever heard. the version seems to make my heart full of hope yet still a lil' sad..a sort of complex beautiful feeling : )
You guys are brilliant!!! RESPEKK from Warsaw, Poland. And thank you for doing a cover of one of my favorite Bjork songs. Real talent I see here (as Master Yoda would say)
This teacher is an inspiration! The kids are awesome, I love their faces when they sing! They really feel it. And Bjork, omg, what an incredible artist! Perfect song, perfect version!
Omg an album with stuff like this would be magic. This is just soo beautiful! Who wouldve thought bjork songs would actually work and sound soo amazingly with this type of arrangement. Incredible.
I have listened to this song more than a dozen times. The depth of the piano's lower notes, combined with the soft, flowing tones coming from these young people - and not to mention their harmonies - make me want sit under the most beautiful branch filled tree and think about how One Day everything will make sense. I thank these young people, and I thank you, Mr. B, for being open to this experience. This type of work is what ends suffering and helps us to keep rising again and again.
I am going through these videos and just sobbing my eyes out. This is so beautiful and exactly what I needed today. You know, the thing with Tori Amos and Bjork is that they use a lot of imagery that is over the top of many adults heads. But these children get it. I finally figured out why - because a lot of their imagery requires using pure emotion to understand and these beautiful children have it in spades.
You should get on BlogTV and sing and I want to see the kids read our comments sometime, watch them see all our compliments and stuff. That would be so cool. (gimme a thumbs up if you agree!!!!!)
wow, these kids are killing me. listening to björk is already such an emotional experience for me... hearing it arranged like this with these beautiful voices makes it so much more powerful, which is really saying a lot since björk is such a powerhouse herself! bravo bravo BRAVO kids!
I've created my ps22 playlist, this tops the lot. I think I might be going a bit nuts because it's on continously play for more than 12 hours now LOL...that's how special and moving PS22 chorus is to me. Beautiful vocals, amazing pianist - and some of the best songs ever. bliss, thank you so much, Marina in KL, msia
wow! the soloist has a voice like an angel! so pure and natural! I am amazed! you can tell the teacher is really committed, gotta give him props for this also!
i really like how you are exposing these kids to music they wouldn't normally hear, like tori, bjork, regina spektor and passion pit. there renditions are so heartfelt and bring out new emotions from the song.
Ohhhhhh myyyy~!!! the children were so spot on and the soloist made me tremble with goosebumps. It was a small little insertion, but OH the impact! Lovely job, to all of you! <3
I've been a huge Bjork fan for a long time and the work you're doing with this chorus is amazing and inspiring. I've subscribed to your videos and look forward to more of these performances, thanks.
Hi, Mr B, I went to this school and you were my music teacher for 5 years :) I remember the whole Graniteville Idol thing too. I know Sierra and Michael Roach were in it, because they were my classmates. But anyway, I love the chorus! They sing so well. I think they should sing Cloudbusting by Kate Bush :) it's a great song..
the kids do that for each other, don't know who started it in this particular instance. aren't they the coolest? and yeah maya has an incredible voice!
i always do when they go. but they come back and visit, and hopefully we can post some updates of some of the individual members, like we have done of chorus alumni justin and ben.
i still have several songs i'm holding off on posting until after their MTV News spot airs. i'm excited to say we've saved some of the best for last.... :)
Wow - very moving. Gives the song such meaning when sung by the kids.

@alefaye36: The teacher's music taste is everything but "mainstream". That's one of the reasons why this chorus is so special.
