I heard in a BBC radio interview that this song was also written by Bobby Bare. (Like "Hello DJ") It was one of Don Bowman's big hit. Waylon did most of the backing and sang a verse. Bobby Bare and Willie Nelson also sang a verse each.
this song seemed to disappear for years than it just popped up on the Utube! love it and so happy to hear it again! About the best song to come out but i bet they did have a lot of laughs singing it! i have to chuckle just listening to it.
At last you posted this song!!!! this song is in the you tube right now!! thanks teddie488! i tired to search this song everyday, but i cant find it..good thing you posted it..thank you!! Hats off to you. \m/
I wonder how many times these guys had to sing this song in the recording studio before they could do it without breaking up laughing. Thanks for sharing!
Don, Waylon, Willie and Bobby Bare -Thanks Mr eddie ...
All were RCA recording artists in 1969 and Willie was known more as a songwriter who sang...2 songs in the top 10 in 1962 and didn't get back there till 1975......
(nice if you could have bought "stock" in Willie back in the 60's.)
Mr eddie would you like to share with us why your youtubes sound better than most others? Anything to do with the wmv?...
I think David Bowie did just that a few years back . He put himself on the stock market and became a business or something, and you could buy shares in him. You are not the first to comment on my sound , the only thing i can tell you is i hook it to an amp and have a couple of bigger speakers that is at my end but should not effect what comes out at your end, it's gotta be to do with the formatting. i do sometimes have to convert some of the stuff to a wmv file, but not all of of it
Could this have been the first time Waylon and Willie (although briefly) appeared on record together? Thanks for this, Eddie.. an interesting entry to Waylon's pre-outlaw songbook!
