Staff at the Montecarlo was amazing! They couldn't do enough for us--we were there a week, got to know them well. They made phone calls for us, let us use their computer when guest computer was acting up, even provided some aspirins when we ran out. Location is unbeatable--right off the Rambla (but quiet and safe!). Across the street--a Starbucks and supermarket. Downside: no restaurant in the hotel, but plenty of choices a short walk outside...no visitors allowed in room.
