  • Listening to this one once won't do it. I brought a bodran home from Ireland but sure can't play it like you do. This one is way over the top! WoooHoooo!

  • Répondre à cette vidéo... Well I'm not the one playing the bodhran, but I'm glad you enjoyed our mix.

  • Not .bad at all.

  • BRAVOOOOOOOOOO AMAZING NICE VOICE AND AN AMAZING PERFORMANCE

  • good job..

  • this is absolutly grait. but it wood be even bether if the singer voice was more clear as whene all the instrument players got in to the video

  • kickass version!

  • @whatwouldyoulike1 Thanks, Raphi!

  • how the heck did you get it all aligned? Surely they weren't playing at identical speeds?

  • @Eakea Apart from Jesse singing, "they" are all me. I played different parts with Jesse in my earphones to keep the sync.

  • @BlindStrings Oh great job! I thought you'd combined a bunch of youtube videos of the song.

  • u have a beautiful voice

  • very awesome job!!

  • @butterfingermistress Thanks!!

  • 0:27 that first drum beat gets me everytime...

  • This is epic man good work. keep it up I am going to start the penny whistle myself and I am a huge fan of all celtic music.

  • @naasfolk Thank you! He said he liked. I am currently visiting Ireland, I'm starting my second week today. I'm leaving Killarney tomorrow and will be in Tuam (of course ;) ) then close to Sligo, before taking the Rocky Road. I'm having a great time!

  • @naasfolk Oh by the way, I was speaking of Jesse, who sings. Luke Kelly, you mean? Wow...

  • @BlindStrings yeah i ment Luke Kelly

This is the best version iv heard since the orginal,i listen to it everyday

  • @naasfolk Means so much! It is only now that I have the opportunity to hear live Irish traditional artists, they're so impressive.

  • may i say you have an outstanding tallent. wish i could find a cd of yours somewhere you voice is amazing

  • love bardofcornwall alone but this is killer!

  • Wow,very well done!I really enjoy it!I hope you upload more videos of this type cause i really like celtic music!Greetings...

  • @TheBernas24 I have a lot of celtic music videos, help yourself! ;) Thank you.

  • He does NOT need any advertisement! He is the real thing.

  • @Foxer44 an excellent musician, not just a thing.

  • Whether the man liked it or not (for reasons I do not know), music is something that should have no price....this performance...a mix of voice and strings...the purest essence....of heaven harmony....a beautiful thing to hear....something not generated by a bloody computer almost anyone can do.

Jolly good job to both you and Bradofcornwall.

  • @keikoandgilly Wow... thank you! I'm uploading a video that is another approach of strings and voice, with another great Youtuber, I bet you'll love it...

  • @BlindStrings

Keep me posted mate and god speed. The rocky road to music is a tough one, but one who plays it for the sake of playing it, sounds more pure than one that seeks capital gain from it.

  • omg! that's awsome! i love it!

    you have a great voice!

Are you irish? that's just wonderful!

  • sounds awesome..great job

  • Thanks!

  • Good job!!! I enjoyed it. Sounds really nice :)

  • Thank you!

  • nice mix, did bardofcornwall hear it? did you contact him?

  • Thank you! Yes I did, and he said he liked the tribute, but any other attempt to contact him didn't succed. Take care!

  • @solomonkane123 I fear not, but I deeply appreciate your comment, thank you and happy 2010! =)

  • go maith, an mhaith

  • Thank you.

  • I wish I could play the bodhran.

I started learning about a year ago, but didn't really stay with it. I think I shall try again though. =)

  • i loved the vid absolutely loved it but some of the timing was off around the parts where he'd rim shot

  • I concur, thank you for your interest =).

  • RESPEKT...schöne Grüße aus Deutschland

  • Danke!

  • So Awesome!!! I love it!

I only wish the violins were louder and the quality of the vocals video was clearer.

  • Thank you, and yes, much could be better. That's how memories are made, what you'd have done differently give them this living feeling =)

  • I was studying abroad recently, and on the night before I left I was fortunate enough to witness some musicians/students jamming. They had a violin, an ude, a flute, a vocalist, and two guitarists. They played The Rocky Road to Dublin. I am glad I remember the feelings that came with hearing it. I only fear that no other non-impromptu version/performance will ever evoke the same feelings for me.

  • Dead on. In a way, a Youtube video is a half-live performance, not totally like a record. I'm not sure you get what I mean then, but I know you perfectly understood my previous post.

  • For you, the arranger, it certainly is a live performance. You are able to see in real time the public's reaction to your creation.

  • Indeed, I see your point. Now I just hope to share the feeling with you ;)

  • From one musician to another, excellent job.

I like the slow incorporation of the various instruments.

    5/5.

  • Thank you!

  • love it man sick mix ^^

  • good job

  • Thank you man!

  • Hehe, this is nice, especially from a fan of this song!

  • Absolutely fantastic! WELL DONE BOTH!

  • Glad you liked this energetic version of Rocky Road, Autumn! Jesse perfectly plays the role of the engine in this collaboration - more of a tribute to him, as he says =).

  • Well done mate u have made my fave list keep it up !

  • Thank you Sam! A lot to listen at the Bard of Cornwall's, don't forget to have a look!

  • I love love love this music video sir, thank you so much for making it =D

  • Hey, you should let Jesse know, after all he's the original artist of this record ;)

  • géniale :)

  • Merci! =)

  • I like Irish traditional music and riverdance...I´m Irish in my heart, hehe:)

  • As I am... have you ever been there? It's magic...

  • great,great,great...I like this very much,nice work

  • I sometimes have comments from Croatia, it's always a pleasure =) Thank you!

  • this music makes me feel i am in mid-evil times.

    michael

  • You just taught me how you say "Moyen-Âge" in English... in French, the adjective "Médiéval" referes the "Moyen-Âge", which could be translated by "Middle-Age" (yes, I thought of the same thing as you just did...).

This song was written during the 19th century, but the celtic origin brightly brings us back to the time you mention.

  • J'adore cette collaboration!!!! Tu joues très bien du violon. Super cool,

    Sev

  • Wow! I love the Bard and was skeptical about any 'additions' to his work, but you really did a nice job with it!! I am impressed. Love the strings!!

  • This is a wonderful way to tell me you appreciated this video... Thank you very much and thanks for Jesse!

  • wow!! fantastic, my friend! It sounds kind medieval! I'm really interested in the "give me some love" project!! Let's do it! What do you want me to play/do?

  • Thanks Jaderson!

As for Give Me Some Love, I think you should do what you feel like! I supposed you would want to play the piano in all cases, but feel free to choose your ways. =)

  • Just awesome, congrats guys, very cooool.

  • Hey Ethan, you're finding a lot of things very coool currently... or is just me who is so cool! ;). Seriously, thank you for passing by. I hope the &fmt=18 trick works for you, it's so... cool!

  • Lets be honest, there's coooool everywhere if people just look around. LOL

  • Well said...

  • You have a really nice voice, and a good feeling for celtic song.

    Bravo

    Patrice

  • Jesse's version of Rocky Road is both very different and very true to the original song. I just had to play with the strings while listening to him. Thanks for passing by! =)

  • BTW, I've been watching the Bard for months: I quite concur about him

  • I think I got it ;). Thanks for your interest!

  • This is excellent!! Good job!!

  • Thank you!

  • I keep coming back to this.

    It really is pretty good.

  • Thank you man, enjoy as much as you can!

  • totaly sweet. ive been following the bards stuff for a while and that just rocked.

  • From a connoisseur of the Bard, that is a big compliment. Thank you Whistler... and I have a channel to check out... ;)

  • Such an awesome video... Canada - France!

    Yeah, bring it babes!

  • I have to say Canada's talents outstand many... Thank you! And don't play it too loud!

Merci!

  • Hey Guillaume, thanks for the tribute/collaboration!

    Cheers,

    Jesse

  • Yay Jesse, I wouldn't have been satisfied if you had the feeling the mood you wanted to create wasn't respected. I think I'm not done with this kind of activity... We'll see =)

  • Fantastic stuff!! Many congrats to both of you!

    5*

  • Thank you, Irish couple! It means much to me.

  • We all just need to be in a good Irish pub with a pint of guinness or something watching this!!

Well done on following your creative urge with this Guillaume :)

  • Thank you Jill. Is there any bad Irish pub anyway?

  • Too bad you guys live on different sides of the pond...could be a great band...

  • Why, o why did you have to colonize America? It's so cool right here :P Actually I'm planning to visit Quebec soon, so I'm not saying that seriously at all. Mind leaving Ontario for a few days? :P

  • Wow..

  • Ah, really great. Very well done. -Ron

  • I knew you'd like it Ron, thanks!

  • WOW! That was great!

  • Thank you Brian! I was wondering where you were ;)

  • cool. i like this much.

  • Thank you!

  • Superbe!

  • Absolutely fabulous!! How the instruments come in one by one and the atmosphere keeps building up ! WOW !! Great vocals too !

  • Well my friend, more than ever, I urge you to have a look at his channel. Especially when I don't seem to be able to post this video in response to any of his - I hope it's a temporary problem in relation to Youtube. Thank you! Hope what-you-know went well... ;)
