Giving one bad example of New York weather that happened 31 years ago doesn't really have much umph behind it. If it was like that every couple of years or something like that I'd believe you.
Oh no my friend, there is something worse than a Nebraska Winter, and that would be a Western New York winter. Do an image search for "blizzard of 77". That's what happens when a cold front passes over the great lakes and dumps everything once it hits land; and that would be where I live. God damn that lake effect.
It was a lot worse in 95,96 winter ice storms.......they shut the interstate down due to 2 to 3 inches of ice covering I-80. Nothing worse then a Nebraska winter....not even in AK ;)
