Wow this is BRILLIANT!! I have been looking for this video for a very long time Thank you so much for your tutorial, Ive done it and I think I look fantastic! Very cool :)
This really was easy thank you! I have long hair and I actually cut about 4 layers instead of 2 and it worked and looks great (and I dared to do it dry, lol)
This is great! I've been trimming my hair myself for a while but found it had no shape. With the help of this video i now have lovely long layers ready for my party tonight and didn't spend a penny. I would recommend this technique to anyone! Thank you so much for uploading this!
@CandiXX919 i did it on dry hair and it worked fine for me you just have to make sure you do it slightly longer then what you want it if its wet to get the right length!
OMG! Thankyou so much for this video. I have been wanting to do 2 layers in my hair because I am wanting to do 2 colors. and I just did this cut and it turned out just the way I wanted it to. You are a genius! thanks so much for this vid. I have shoulder length hair and it worked for me whoever wants to know if it works on short hair...it does!
Just tried your technique after watching your video ONCE, and it came out SO GORGEOUS I CRIED. THANK YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH for posting this video!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for this very easy tutorial!!!!I diddent had any money but very long hair which needed a haircut badly! then i found your tutorial and just went for it. and now it looks so good!!! thank you thank you thank you, you just saved me allot of money :) people out there, dont waste your money any longer on crappy hairdressers and start doing it yourself with this tutorial :)
tried your technique yesterday and it WORKED!! I have long straight hair and really needed to cut it. My hairdresser was fully booked and didnt have time to cut mine, so I thought "what the heck" I can always wear it in a ponytail until I get a time if I mess it up, but no need for that. Thank You!! Saved my weekend (and some money)
Ugh! I have been cutting my own hair in layers but with a different method and hated it...but funny that my hair looks so similar to yours. I see how many compliments you have and realize I'm one of "THOSE" that just don't see what others see..so I am definitely going to try your technique since it looks so simple and very close to what I want. Especially since every time I go to the salon it seems that when I ask for layered hair but to keep as much length as they make it look so choppy.
Thanks for sharing your layering method, it looks great. :) I'm definately going to give this a try sometime. I never realized how easy achiving this look at home could be. :)
Thank you for such a great video!! I have been putting off going to the hairdresser for months because I am tender headed and don't want to be in pain, but I've been really not digging my hair. I did this technique of yours tonight and am happier with my haircut than I have been in years!! Thank you so much! Not to mention the fact that I saved lots of ca$h!!
I think the reason why most people recommend hair sheer's is because the 'blades' arent as thick as regular sheer's such as cloth sheer's, making the cut sharper. thick blades can push the hair to the side as you cut it, giving you an uneven angled cut.
Great idea...going to try it...I knew about this way of cutting hair from my friends whwn i was a teen..we wore the style (Gepsey)...layers of course..Thanks agian for sharing..
Love it!! I've cut my own hair for years, but when I try to do even layers, it doesn't always come out very well - but this is a brilliant formula, easy and constructive, just brilliant!!
I just watched your video and immediately layered my hair with your technique and it turned out amazing! I will never pay for a haircut again. :) thanks for sharing!
I did this because my hair used to be layered and as it grew out, it started to look flat. I figured I shouldn't have to spend money to get it cut because I am already cutting my own bangs and I live off of an artists budget. Thank you.
This has to be the best how to video ever. So many people talk and talk and taaalk and take forever to get to the point. Half the time when they do you regret watching their video anyway. Epic awesome How-to-video. My hair is shorter now and Im gonna try it! haha I'll tell ya how it goes!
Yeah I did this. I was sick of waiting for my parents to take me to layer it. So I went to my bathroom sink and did it. I LOVE IT. I only did the tiniest layers ever anyway. Im so happy, Im 11 by the way. :) THANKS
say u wanted a lots of layers would u just keep repeating the same steps over an over until u get to the top of ur head? :} :} please respond asap :} :} ~*thank you*~ :3
@LoveForTheEmo It's much easier to cut wet hair. It's also more accurate. But when you do it, because pretty much everyone's hair is a little longer when it's wet, cut it a little (just a little) shorter than you want it so when it dries, it looks right unless you don't mind it growing out a little.
Fantastic information Connie! I tried this after watching your video last night and it worked wonderfully. I'm very impressed with the result! Thanks for sharing. :o)
Thank you so much for this!! my hair needed to be done ASAP and of course with this economy i'm broke. It worked amazing!!!!! i'm soo impressed with how this came out and am investing way less money into the salon now :) Thanks again!
Oh my gosh, its the first time I tried cutting my hair on my own, and it worked!!! Thank you for the great tips! Now i don't have to bother my mom to take me to the hair salon to get layers now ^_^
Okay, I'm 14 I have medium/short hair it does to my shoulders. I want to try this but whenever I put my hair in a ponytail forward t back of my hair falls down. I can't get it to stay in place. Please reply!!
I used this method and it worked well! Even though I didn't use rubber band but my hand the result was amazing. I selected about six to nine sections and then layered my hair with my sweet paper scissors. Now I have a great hair cut, thanks to you!
