  • Hilarious! Love it

  • @LCLand

    Thanks!

  • If you don't believe that people can be this stupid, you haven't interacted with a lot of people. This is not a straw-man, it really happens.

The most terrifying thing is not that we have a problem, or what this problem might cause. It is people like this that blindly REFUSE to admit what can be clearly (by logic and mathematics) demonstrated to be true that we should all be terrified of. These people would argue that the sky is orange and believe it, just so they could be "right."

  • @triindiglo

Thanks for the comment. I think the largest problem of this entire mess is the inability to publicly discuss what the real root issues of this financial crises are, due to the intense feelings involved. A politician who comes out and blames the responsible parties risks a serious chance of recall or not being reelected.

There are politicians speaking the truth, such as Ron Paul, but he called the housing bubble back in 2001 (not a typo). People don't want to listen.

  • @PTR91K thanks for the video. Please ignore the 'sexist' troll comments; I didn't take your video to be sexist at all. Some people see only what they want, as indicated by their blog contents.

  • I love how the man in this video is the voice of reason while the woman is the clueless one. How typical.

  • @oliviahoang Well, the situation did occur that way - but it wasn't meant to be sexist. If you are wondering, I am also not actually a crash test dummy, nor was the person I was talking to.

  • @PTR91K : Okay, first point fair enough. Your second sentence was unnecessary. It could've been an illustration of two male dogs talking to each other and the point would've still been made. You are not trying to reflect "real life" anyway, so what does it matter whether or not it's true to the gender of the people involved? Like you said, you two were not crash dummies.

  • @oliviahoang Actually does reflect comments in real life. The majority in one conversation, with one person. As for choosing genders, Xtranormal did that. First video I made, set up that way when I started. If you look for sexism everywhere you will find it. Don't let the people who are actually sexist trap you in that world view. Most people are good, the bad know the mental tricks to create ongoing mental frustration - the purest form of slavery is that contained within yourself.

  • @PTR91K : I don't go around looking for sexism, but it doesn't take much to see it in the media. "most people are good" --> this blanket statement is just that: a blanket statement. People's inherent "goodness" have been debated for centuries by people much smarter than you or me, so your statement is not a definitive fact. Most people are also selfish since that is human nature.

  • @oliviahoang There is no doubt media is extremely sexist. Follow the money. Advertisements on "the view" or similar will be heavily biased towards women, advertisements on late night hunting programs will be biased towards showing girls in bikinis and beer getting women. Television is a baser media though, and not representative of all society. Forget the philosophers, base your world view on the people you actually come across - my experience 70%+ are good. If that isn't the case - move. :)

  • @PTR91K :

"the purest form of slavery is that contained within yourself" --> because I saw some potential flaw in your video, I'm somehow inflicting myself with mental slavery? Please. Sexism is real and alive. Your video may or may not have any sexism underlying it, and there are feminists who go overboard. However, that doesn't mean that people who identify and call out sexism is undergoing some kind of internal slavery.

  • @oliviahoang :) Sexism is indeed alive and well. Check college admittance by sex. Check baseless accusations of rape and who gets their life destroyed. Check who gets custody in divorce. Check what sex initiates most divorces. The tide has swung, and although I always respect passion - you are a few years too late for the party. Any prejudice is cured by eliminating prejudice, not enhancing it. Respect people for their individual attributes and nothing else. The choice of genders was random.

  • Ignorance is HUGE bliss.

  • @mannerofman I can only imagine it. To have borrowed AND spent hundreds of thousands of dollars of another persons money on the most overvalued asset in hundreds of years, being bailed out by the largest bailout in history, and STILL feeling like some kind of victim. Wow. That level of ignorance would be pure gold.

  • We ran out of greater fools...!

  • @ripley1423 Which is probably a pretty good thing, because if there were fools too much greater than the ones coming out of the woodwork towards the end..... I do sometimes wonder though what would have happened if the bubble kept up for a few more years. 200% financing? Infomercials claiming guaranteed 65%/year appreciation? People "owning" a whole block of empty homes and being celebrated on the news as pure genius?

  • But it's a good deal for the politicians to spend trillions of public funds to get a few billion "back" in campaign donations!

  • wait, this makes no sense....

    dummies cant talk!?

  • A relative asked me why I am so angry at these housing bailouts, and the people who view them as endless entitlements. Ignoring the blatant theft, it is critical to acknowledge where the recession began, because that is where it is going to end as well. The seeds of the recession began when people foolishly assumed that housing always increases in value, then added to that idea by assuming that increase in value came in the form of spendable cash.

  • The recession will end when it is admitted that housing is a consumption choice, not a cash flow investment, and that the occupant alone should be responsible for paying for its use. The non stop pity party of endless bailouts and entitlements to fools needs to stop. Home prices still need to fall at least 15-20% to be long term stable, the government needs to get out the way and stop prolonging the pain.
