@raeven1212 RePorts and compilations don't count as new volumes in the series; Trilogy is just MK 1-3 combined, and Gold is just the Dreamcast version of MK4, but the story is the same. And games like Mythologies and Shaolin Monks are more side-stories to the main series; the main series consists of 8 different installments including this one.

@raeven1212 Meaning that the events in that game aren't considered part of the overall Mortal Kombat story. It's sort of like Super Smash Bros, and how the events in that game don't affect the story of the Zelda series, or the Metroid series.
