  • This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Not only it sounds beautiful, but the lyrics are extremely well-thought as well.

  • this music is sooo so so so beautiful*-*

i'd never imagine myself listening to angra, cuz they're not the kind of metal band i like to hear.

    i prefer hard rock, personally.

but i guess everyone's able to realize how great this band is.

i don't like metal, but there's no denying these guys rock, they're great musicians and i have to say, i love this song, especially.

  • awesome song, love it :D

  • Ganda tlga ng kanta....

    The best songs of Angra...

    Bleeding heart.....

    Wishing Well....

    Un lng taz ala na...

  • Well, because I'm an open minded individual, and I've heard many people talk about Angra as if they were a great band, so I decided to check it out on my own, and I must say I was not impressed.

If a band chooses deliberately to sing in a foreign language, the least they should do is to master that language skillfully and have a decent pronounciation, which is considered a big thing, when learning how to sing.

  • Well, thanks for explaining yourself clearly now.

But in just depending in the "ACCENT" of the lead vox, and telling them they're awful, it's just unfair for the rest of the band.

If I'm not mistaken, the members are classically trained. The lyrical and musical side of the song (for me) is great, although there are some grammatical errors in it.

I also noticed that you're not that fluent in English so, don't judge the band because of Edu's accent.

  • What exactly gave you the impression that I'm "not so fluent in English"?

Also, a lame singer CAN drag the rest of the band down with him, although, I do agree with you, that it isn't fair to them.

  • Yes a lame singer can drag the rest of the band down, but Edu, the vox isn't lame.

I think they delivered perfectly what they wanted the listeners to understand.

At least they wrote the song in English than writing it in their native language. They took the risk and let's just appreciate it.

  • And what about all those foreign bands that have better singers, and who sing with far better pronounciation than this Edu guy?

I can name German (Michael Kiske, with Helloween and Place Vendome), Finnish (HIM) and Italian (Lacuna Coil, Rhapsody, Vision Divine, Kamelot) bands who have amazing singers who actually took the time to master a professional sounding pronounciation.

It was also very rude of you, to accuse me of being racist, simply because I made a comment on someone's accent.

  • Helloween vox has still an accent when he sings.

HIM, idk, maybe Ville Valo used to in speaking English. About Cristina Scabbia, I think she's used to it also. She's always in US, even did a collaboration with Mustaine.

Well for Angra, I think it's one of their first albums after the first vox left the band.

Why not compare Angra in some Brazilian bands too. Like Sepultura, Rebaelliun,Shaman, Krisiun etc.

Accusing you, of course I would love to defend my music. I think you know what I mean

  • Defending the music is completely unrelated to accusing someone of something he didn't do. You should really apologize about that one. Even if I'm very white (I'm a northern italian), I never believed one race is better than another. I've known Lacuna Coil because I was born in Milano, which is where they're from, and Cristina has ALWAYS sang in very good English. SHE, is a singer that deserves selling records around the world. Ville never came out of Finland until, I believe, his 3rd album.

  • Sepultura, bleh, Max Cavalera's English accent, I'm sorry to say, is barely decent.

I'm not too familiar with the other Brazilian bands you named, because I quit listening to metal a few years ago, although I do still listen to some, and I can appreciate good musicianship, just as much as a great singer with a good pronounciation.

  • In Sepulutura's later years, Max's accent became perfect. He mastered it through the years.

But in the earlier years, uhm. idts

  • Music isn't about always about perfection. For example if you take Iron Maiden (A sucessful worldwide band) they do not spend months perfecting the sound on albums because having things that sound unusual and out of place keeps the music interesting.

  • Come on, let's be serious! One thing is to be different and original, and a totally different issue is to have a goofy sounding accent, when you sing in front of a "professional" band.

    That, is very unprofessional.

  • That is your opinion and I respect it.

There is no single man (or band) that can please us all.

For me, Angra is one of the best prog/power metal band. No such opinion can change that.

  • And I respect your opinion as well.

    :-)

What I like most, is constructive comments without insults.

  • Thanks. I don't want to force you to listen in the same band even though you find them sucks.

Angra is a great band and I think one day they can prove themselves to you.

    Long live metal \m/

  • "vampiroangelico", i must say, why the hell are you trying so hard to complain about accents or spelling when you clearly aren't english/american yourself? many people in USA listen to angra, and there's no problem whatsoever with the singer's "accent". in fact the only people i've ever seen to even mention this are usually brazilians trying to show off. which seems to be your case as well.

  • @DarkCrono100 You're completely wrong.

I'm not brazilian, I'm Italian (completely different) and the reason why I've no respect for those bands who have terrible english accents is because they're half asses. I have studied the English language ever since elementary school. In Italy, English is considered the second language. In addition, I busted my ass, when taking singing lessons IN AMERICA (where I live) with the pronounciation, which everybody here considers extremely important.

  • @vampiroangelico Sometimes the accent does not matter. What matters is the caress of the voice, the tender touch of guitar, the beating of your heart in the rhythm of drums. Music has its own language, no accent or pronunciation is wrong/unprofessional. When you fly, it is of no matter what color are your wings.

  • @Brasileta You can be superficial and look at it that way, which is fine, for the simple-minded people.

I prefer to take in consideration all of those things you mentioned, when I judge a piece of music, but if the lyrics are sung in English, the very least a singer can do is to respect the English language (and those who speak it) enough to AT LEAST have a decent English accent when singing, which this singer dxoes not have.

I respect your opinion, but I find it rather naive and superficial.

  • @vampiroangelico Well, me too, I respect all opinions. If the words I wrote seem superficial and naive to you, fine. I'd rather be considered naive and superficial than live with a calculator instead of a soul (you actually leave an impression of a person who does not believe in the existence of a soul, so maybe my comment may mean nothing to you =). I take pride in my ability to feel.

P.S. Are you sure you're Italian? The things you say remind me a lot of a fellow student of mine :)

  • @Brasileta Feels weird being called "a person who does not believe in the existence of a soul", considering the fact that to me music is all about soul and expressing feelings deeply and articulately, and considering the amount of feelings I express in my music, whether I play covers or my originals....

The fact that I consider an accurate English pronounciation to be very important, has no relation to my soul.

  • @vampiroangelico OK, I apologize. I watched some of your videos, and you've definitely put all of your soul in those songs. You might want to work on the high notes when singing, though.

  • @Brasileta Yes, you are correct. I have been taking singing lessons for the last couple of years, and I used to sound a lot worse, vocally....but I do know I still have some improving to do....

Thank you for watching my videos!

    :-)

  • No wonder they're not a successul band, the singer's english accent is just aweful!

  • Accent? of course because they're Brazilian. Why don't you just listen to the song and not the accent. Racist.

  • What does a person's accent have to do with racism?

    This comment wasn't very intelligent....

  • So are you

  • spelling "awful" as AWEFUL. lol.

  • It is spelled both ways, in English and American.

Can we please discuss the band or the song, instead of you spinning the conversation out of context?

  • So are you what?

  • you`re a stupid, this band is great, so if you dont like it, just dont listen it

  • I'm "a stupid"?

Can you put a decent sentence together?

If you can't speak English, you'd better avoid making an ass of yourself....

  • Obviously you have your own point of view, but i think for many people, the singer has a unique voice because of his accent which just makes it a little different. And in my opinion i think his voice really suits the heavy metal operatic style.

  • I never made any complaints about his voice or about the "operatic style".

If I did, I would have been a hypocrit, because one of my favorite singers ever is Freddie Mercury, the KING of operatic style rock singers.

  • luv this song <3

  • awesome

  • Angra rules!!!
