As a rock DJ in the 70's I must say this used to fill the floor every time I played it (as did the DC5 tracks). I too have the 'full-length' version on vinyl, but the years - and 100's of disco plays - have not been kind to it! Cannot find an MP3 of it anywhere. Even found the 'Dave Clark and Friends' album from 1972 on i-Tunes, but this track has been taken off it... shame! Billy Crash Craddock's version sounds feeble in comparison. This is the one! Thanks for playing it, man. Great memories!
Oh yeah - THAT'S Mike Smith! My opinion - he was the greatest rock vocalist of the 1960s! Sorry, John, Paul, Mick, Paul Jones, and all the rest ... Saw Mike live in 2003 and I am so very thankful that I did. A huge shout-out to my Rhode Island pal Steve Parker for telling me, one afternoon at work "Hey - Mike Smith is going to be at Mohegan tonight! Do you know who Mike Smith is?" Oh yeah - we knew who Mike Smith was, and THAT'S Mike Smith!
This is the radio edit but the US stock copy of the 45 features the full version. I have that rare record. Unlike the European releases (UK at least), both this ""A" side and "I'm Sorry Baby" are in stereo.
This is the edited version, the full version with the longer ending was banned by the BBC in UK for being too ranchy! The original version is on the UK Columbia single, NOT the EMI re-issue with the ending cut off!
Is the a KLH with the Garrard turntable. Man! that's one of my faves. Oh wait. It's playing a tune huh? :D Sorry lost in the hardware. Never heard this before. Nice tune. Thanks for the edumacation N'At. Jiggy
@rfranklinw1 Oh yeah it's ole Mike Smith! I first heard Mike in 1964-have ALL DC5 stuff plus Smith & d'Abo and Mike SWmith's Rock Engine-saw him live twice in 2003
i used to shoot heroin to this record! Crash Craddock rules HELL!
