@drpaddle... That fork looks like a custom made Koski Trailmaster with a drum brake mount. Those forks were the primary aftermarket fork back then, as I remember.
I also remember Gary Fisher passing me about halfway down in '84... he had this SWEET Team Fisher in dark Red, just like Joe Murray's was.
AlpineDave: I think that's another Lowell-Kight Procruiser, based on the small diameter second top tube. My desert-camo one is at 1:34 (I'm wearing the Skid-Lid). The frames came without forks, so I don't know what kind he's running.
"POS" is so relative to the times. In this video, I was riding a really cool, nearly cutting edge Lowell-Knight Procruiser. I bought the frame from the guys in Tiburon, matched it with an off-the-shelf cruiser fork -- Cook Bros maybe? -- and had them sandblasted and painted desert camaflouge along with the rims. It was hot! I bought a Ritchey Mountain Bike a few months later, and I still ride it. It may be primitive even compared to your 02 Trek, but it will never be a POS in my heart.
Where are your damn helmets!!! lol
