  • Duracoat is a resin.

  • awesome video!

  • .223 Saiga ?

  • @BrokenTengu99 - Galil ARM

  • Any tips on duracoating a nightforce rilfe scope?

  • please please please help me find out where i can buy a complete dura coat kit. with every thing i need to coat one gun. i cant find one any where online! please help

  • @whatdafloopyjoop - in a como pattern? or one color?

  • @weaponeer any color i cant find a complete kit any where

  • @whatdafloopyjoop - google lauerweaponry they are the ones who make it.

  • @weaponeer thanks man

  • @whatdafloopyjoop DSArms.com is a website that sells the duracoat product in packs. go to the category tab and it is the first column on the left and at the bottom of the list under Duracoat Products

  • Duracoat has a product called Duraheat that will withstand more heat. The colors are limited but a guy could make due for sure. Normal Duracoat is for plinking, not BLAZING.

  • @pappywan - at the time of this video they only had one color of duraheat (black), but now they have several colors and are adding more all the time.

they produce Duracoat about an hour from my home.

  • that gun looks amazing. did you paint it yourself?

  • @MATTNATTMATT - yes I did the work myself. Most people feel I should have done the barrel and receiver as well, but my rifles tend to be fired a lot and they get very hot. the duracoat I use is not designed for the extra high temps from bump firing, so I left the receiver and barrel parkerized for easy care.

  • PLEEEEEEEEEASE dont use annoying distracting music in the background when making videos. good for intro's to vids and ends but not while im trying to listen to wtf anyone is saying for the luv a god

  • as posted a million times before. this video was done a year ago. at this time our video softbox lights had a fan with a very high pitched scream to them, and the room reflected that back into the mics.

the video is free, so its not worth a reshoot, and the music was a cover for the fan noise which was 100 times worse than the music, and the why the music was so loud.

we now have switches on the fans, and high end wireless mics, so it's no longer an issue, and has not been for a long time

  • You should also not bother with the green screen if you have good info you dont need to bother it just makes things annoying to watch.

  • Last time I checked it was my video and my channel. I'll make the videos as I please.

  • The next time you make rude comments you might consider.

    1. The topic. (you may notice the colors on the Galil)

    2. The time of year (the video was made in JAN. as in 3 feet of snow on the ground, considering the video shows a desert camo, it would seem a bit out of place in 3 feet of snow.

    3. videos showing someone talking while sitting in their room are boring expecially considering the topic.

    4. before criticizing someone else try uploading videos yourself.

  • Well if your going out of the way to make a video for others maybe you should take there opinions in to account I am just saying it takes your eye off the product your trying to show making it harder to pay attention to the detail.

  • The whole point you are missing is showing how effective camo can be in the correct environment. It's pointless to be showing how desert camo works in the snow, or a living room. You should not be paying attention to how I did my rifle, you should be matching your weapon to your background.

If you remove the background you remove the point to the video. I'll state this again.. This is not a how to apply video where you need to see the product detail, the point to camo is the background.

  • great job with the camo, looks really good

  • nice job good balance of colors

  • I like the idea of taking a picture and pixlating it! good info

  • me too!

  • Great camouflage! But why not cover it in complete camo?

  • They didn't make high temp colored duracoat, so I didn't want to duracoat the barrel (my guns get hot). so I ended up just not covering the barrel and receiver.

  • ah true, again great camouflage!

  • Good lookin camo bro.

  • thanks

  • Great tips and excellent review.

  • have u used the color: woodland tan? im looking fr a color that will match some woodland enviroment and some desert enviroments but i only really want to use 1 or 2 colors

  • I would recommend Coyote Tan or brown due to it being an earth tone color. It's very effective in "blending camouflage" to suit more than one enviroment. another good thing about the color is most tactical gear can be purchased in that color to match even more. I use mainly Coyote Tan as well as Multicam for my gear as well as selected weapons.

  • k i also found a Tatical Woodland tan which is like few shades darker than th Coyote Tan. I think i should go with 2 colors though a dark green and a light brown or tan

  • Take a digital camera photo of the area you wish to match, then reduce the colors to as few pixels as possible. What you end up with are the main background colors. choose colors that closely match these colors for the camo layout and your weapon should match perfectly.

  • Go to surplus rifle dawt calm and look up "project duracoat". They even have excerpts from the duracoat dvd, very helpful site.

  • heat ressent?

  • to a point

  • ty i was thinking of buying it but to hell with that lol thanks man

  • DuraCoat can withstand temperatures as high has 500-600 degrees F. With "normal" shooting, your barrel will never get close to being that hot. full auto or bumpfire canb exceed that temp for the barrel. If you want high heat protection without the all the color options use DuraHeat coating that can handle temperatures up to 1,800 degrees

  • oh ok lol

  • lol ya just mix the paint and spray ahaahaha

  • Duracoat is good if you PREPARE THE SURFACE FIRST!

A lot of amature gunsmiths are spraying this stuff without properly prepping the surface.

  • good vid.

  • Moly and ceramic finishes will hold up a lot better too.

  • 400-600 grit automotive sand paper is good for preping. Degreasing is a MUST.

Just mix it up and spray it on? Cmon man... Krylon isn't even that easy.

  • why didnt you take the time to do the the while gun it looks incomplete plus dont know anyone who sandblasts a gun im thinking how about bead blast or soda blasting thats the way to go it doesnt leave a blast profile and know dura coat can be blasted of it just takes little bit longer but its not to bad you should also spray a matte clear on that it look pretty shinney

  • I didn't want to do the receiver on this weapon, I wanted to leave that part, and the bipod black. The shine is due to the 2000 watts of lighting just a foot away. Sandblasting is also a general term as it covers the process, but not the Sandblasting substance. Bead blasting is what they do to swiming pool tiles... lol
