O Govinda! Let me have a vision of your divine lotus feet today (this instant), O Mukunda!
O Beautiful-faced Darling son of Nanda and Yashoda, Lifter of the Mandara mountain (as Varaha Avatar), Source of Eternal Bliss, Lover of Indira (Lakshmi, Eternal Nature).
I am distressed being entangled in this material life, and not knowing the right path, I committed sins. But, please look at me as your errant child, and forgive my sins.
O my Father, Krishna! give me your eternal protection!
Being born on this Earth, burdened with many problems (typical of any life), I went several ways trying to solve my problems, but only ended up with bad company (meaning, materialistic people).
There was nobody else to show me the right way, so you were my only call and refuge!
O Dheera Venugopala! Lead me across the Ocean, O Mukunda!
Nice rendition by Janaki, though written in 16th century this song explicitly in very very simple words provides the meaning of why we need god...hatsoff no difficult sanskrit stuff involved..
Though I loved this song since my childhood, I had not known the author of this song..despite having lived so close to Sri.Raghavendra Swami's place, Mantralaya, in Adoni, AP. Should I say that it was Sri.Raghavendra Swami's blessing that guided me to sing this song, on his Aradhane in Los Angeles, CA and made me aware that this song was composed by himself, by couple of my friends here? I can't say anything about non-believers, but this is an unbelievable truth.
..the other poster meant that she/he didn't knew that this song was composed by Raghavendra Swamy himself...till now I thought it was composed by Shri Purandara Dasaru.
Oh. I got you wrong. Unfortunately I have not heard the other 3 version. I would love to. My native is not Kannada and understand very little. I neverthless enjoy the music. Eradu kanasu has great songs. Cheers
Agreed me too love Janakiamma's version, somehow female voice suits better to this song. The suituation in the movie also adds on to the influence. Great song by RajanNagendra-S.Janaki-Kalpana.
I have not heard Balamurali's version, can you give us the link.

These songs were destined only for S Janaki.
She is the best when it comes to film devotional songs in Kannada.

No doubt S.Janaki has a great voice. So does PBS and Balamurali. You cannot compare male and the female voice. They are of different frequencies.

I am sorry, I was not comparing singers which I won't do. I was comparing the music on the 3 version and I liked the Janaki version.
